The fix should be the man also receiving a lite sentence or neither the man or the woman being in jail at all. In many states 17 is already at or above the age of consent. Bottom line is it's close to a no win scenario for the coach and I don't blame him for refusing. While I see the risk I think he would likely had been fine and no issue would arise. Yes there is a chance of false or mistaken accusations but he can do things to lessen them. This said I do not blame him for the choice he made. As for universal basic income. I am not sure if we are there yet but because of advances in technology workers today are far more productive yet wages have not risen to match that productivity. The work or die mentality is no longer needed and if a segment of the population would be content to live at universal income levels their will still be plenty of workers for the world after all there are only so many condos on the beach and people will work for them.

I support men's rights and I am far to the left on the political spectrum. Healthcare for all, programs that help the poor , I would even support a universal basic income. I support the meto movement and would hope that it will include men as well. I recognize that false allegations do happen and believe people need to be more aware of them but so do real claims of sexual abuse and men or women should not hide them because they are afraid of being told it is a false claim.

I believe that once you find out you are the father you should be able to have a paternity test and within a reasonable time from when you are told you are the father you should be able to opt out. The mother should have a legal obligation to identify and inform the father as soon as possible. Fathers have almost no rights to their children and this needs to change. It should be criminal to deny a child their father and a father their child.

I can believe in men's rights and still have a difference of opinion on certain issues. I believe in personal responsibility for the consequence and outcome of ones actions. Parental responsibility is not something that should be given up lightly and the reality is that both people are the parents of the child and both IMHO should have to give up those responsibilities or consent to one or the other assuming sole responsibility. I am for equality.

We have a sure way to tell paternity. Lets use it. The test should be routinely used when someone is found to be pregnant. This is in the best interest of the child. It insures there will be no confusion later in his life as to who his/her father is. This will also allow the father to participate in his child's life and be held responsible for support. This is an easy one she is mad so she brings up sexual harassment knowing that even a completely unfounded allegation will cause the park and/or its employees trouble and there is no risk to her. I hope the person filming this offered the video to the man so he could defend himself.

It also denies the real father the joy of helping to raise his child. Having definitive proof of fatherhood would help in any custody disputes. IMHO paternity test should be mandatory on finding out someone is pregnant. This would allow the actual father the opportunity to apply for custody ,shared custody, or visitation rights and might give him some say in how his child is raised . This would be in the child's best interest to know his father.

There is more then one agenda. If you can weaken due processes for sex crimes and shift the burden of proof to the defendant for sex crimes you can do that for all the laws eventually as well. No longer will innocent until proven guilty be the rule of law, as with the property seizure laws, just being accused will be enough to keep you in jail. You will have to prove your innocence rather then them having to prove your guilt. They will be able to imprison anyone that is inconvenient for them.

I like to take the framework off of the problem and see what my answer would be. I know someone who is upset whenever we talk about XXXX because of a bad incidence in there life. Should I still talk about XXXX around them? My answer is no I should not. I am aware that people have are more or less sensitive to some topics then myself.
