His reputation has not been destroyed. If he does turn out to be not-guilty, then if anything people will see Strauss-Kahn in a better light; as someone who had the strength to endure this whole ordeal. And Sarkozy is pretty unpopular in France - his party only won three regions in last years regional elections (there are 26 in total). Who knows, maybe Strauss-Kahn was set up. Either way, as a former head of the IMF, I can't say I'd really give a fuck whatever happened to him.

Well, I support the pension age being the same, but I'm all for these women succeeding. It would be better to say "No to pension rise, pension age decrease for men to match that of women".

But it may have already have been established that the accuser was raped, due to physical evidence. Thus, that person IS a victim. Whether or not the person she accuses is guilty is another matter altogether. It would be like saying that there is no victim in murder when a man is found with multiple bullet wounds. So so long as there is evidence, victim is an appropriate term.

I think whether or not 16 year olds are having sex is up to them. It's old enough to make your own decisions. Damn, in the UK it's old enough to join the army and get sent to Afghanistan within a year. But I'd put down the teen pregnancy problem to a mixture of our sexualized culture and inadequate sex education in schools. So presumably if this happened in Britain where the age of consent is only 16 it would be absolutely fine? Legality or illegality are not necessarily the same as right and wrong.
