While you might have something legit here. The comment about what girls want in bed and feminism isn’t hypocrisy. Change that bit of your argument with people in person cause you fall apart with ignorance with lines like that. What some like sexually is unrelated to the rights or treatment they expect from day to day life. She’s got it warped but you do too with comments like that. I don’t think it will ever put your job at risk as long as you remain professional at work. That being said.. getting a drink with someone who works in the same building is nothing to trip about. You’re fine!! The workplace is one of the most common places people meet significant others. Just don’t bring any drama from it into the workplace.

Everyone’s boundaries are different and they change. I used to feel how I think you feel. Now I can comfortably talk about anything in my past history and it’s more important for me to know where a girl I’m with draws the line. But if ever asked about my past I’ll respond with something like “how much do you want to know / do you really want to talk about it?”

The only real thing here is contest is that single motherhood is not revered. Maybe a little more so in younger generations but my poor mother was judged fucking hard all the time for being a single mother after my parents divorce. Were I to ask her about it today she’d have all kinds of stories to showcase how bad it was. Granted this is one case.. historically single mothers are not revered.

I guess I’ve met anomaly’s at both my city college and university as I knew several at both who seem to love it and met more guys who are “just doing it for a good job.” Still... there is a lot of sexism towards men and we still dominate the industry. Sure if we wanna spend the resources to quantify physical capability of every draftee then I’m all for sending the most capable individuals. But your numbers after doing so are going to be very very significantly skewed in the way of men. But yes, if you have 100,000 drafted women and 100,000 drafted men and we are sending half to the front lines and have to support roles behind the front lines. Yeah that’d be fine. I’ll be there too. But this is hypothetical because a draft is not going to happen again anytime soon so everyone of you is safe for now. Full scale war today isn’t the same as it was for WW2 or Vietnam. You don’t need the same physical number of ground troops as in the past. A draft even during WW3 is not likely.

There’s a lot more factors there. A heavily homogeneous population often is a huge factor in that as well. Maybe it has some impact but cultural diversity across the US combined with varying degrees of wealth cause more problems than people not serving in the military.

Because those rights are all of our responsibilities to uphold and it’s what we were founded on and have (until recently) always tried to protect and defend. We haven’t seen major war in our lifetimes. If it’s a just war you won’t have to because many of us will sign up. I doubt any war of a lesser scale than WW3 will require a draft in today’s style of fighting

A draft will never happen in a war or today unless it’s WW3 against some horrible hitler type of person. And even then I doubt the shear number of troops will he required to force a draft. Or it’ll be an invasion on home soil. If either of those.. a draft won’t be necessary even still because a lot of us will be signing up in droves.
