thanks for this - I basically fully agree. disclaimer: not approved TRP canon or whatever: I'd add that I think most of the time a woman doesn't understand she's doing things that are not in your best interest long term. So go the way you're going to go, she will come with you, if not then you can both take a step back form the relationship when the time comes and have few/no regrets. The idea of treating it like an actual BATTLE of wits and will just seems like zero fun.

Lol there's the doomsday prediction I was expecting. But okay, I hear you on a lot of this, and I already knew that women, consciously or unconsciously, have this effect in a LTR, slowly sabotaging their own man. Also I would know if I was actually currently miserable, lol, calm down with that. I have observed in life that so many women do have this readiness for their man to lead/manipulate (choose one or other of those words depending on how you feel about it) them. All this "unfuriating, anta…

Yeah, I hear you about needing to work toward challenges more proactively. don't think I was even trying to justifying things as being better than they are though. The whole point of the thread is that I DO have a weird sense of things being bad, or at least heading that way. I was actually really suprised at the replies of people saying to enjoy that I had it good, because I definitely wasn't trying to even rationalise or frame it that way, quite the opposite. Cheers

Yeah, thanks - I already knew I had the choice to read those or not. I'm also still here to discuss anything and everything I want to discuss. Report the post if it's not unquestioningly TRP enough for you or whatever though. and, again, yes - I will be doing what I want with the advice - taking some, maybe not taking some. Hopefully that's uhh okay with you but thanks either way.

I mean, she's not actually my only potential source for sex. She's the only one I can OPENLY be seen to go to, without my life being thrown into chaos, but I can definitely get sex from others, plus the thrill of that being a 'new' partner. However I'm not looking to go down that road and I obviously did enter into marriage with the intention of making my partner happy, within reason. I don't buy into the power dynamic stuff to the same extent as some of you but so far I have, I believe, managed…

HPV isn't a big deal. As far as I know, most girls end up with it at various points. It can be hard to detect and hard to get rid of. It can flare up and go away, all while still technically carrying it. Learn more about this STD before you break up with someone over it, imo. In guys I think it is indetectable also, so for all you know you already had it / would have given it to her anyway. But again, HPV isn't a big deal. Girls just need to get clear of it because it can increase chances of cer…

Thanks man, I will do this. and Thanks for the replies everyone, I half expected doomsday predictions or something but this has been pretty positive and chill.

yeah, I agree with this stuff, although the 'family' side of it isn't a thing I relate to much yet. But continuing the be a person my wife (or any decent woman) would still respect is usually a factor in my thinking. Affection is never really withheld (except very temporarily if I've done something genuinely uncool like never come home after a night out drinking once or twice), she's a very sensible woman and catches herself before she ever does anything annoying and apologises before I would ev…

that all sounds great, thanks man. Yeah it's an interesting one, I actually recently had an interaction with a hot girl at a house party (grown up style party, with wife there) where girl was trying to teach me to salsa and of course I sucked. but it was unusual to me to be doing anything so physical with another girl to the point that I had to play it like "ha, lemme just offer my wife a dance instead here so I'm not being too much of a dick in front of her". (I genuinely didn't wanna be a dick…

also that dance classes thing (without wife) might be an awesome idea. I cannot and have never been able to dance so it would be a valuable skill (plus my wife loves dancing) and I would get to be around new people, men and women, who I hopefully would value

thanks, yeah I agree (and actually had just edited my post to include this) that I have always been chasing dopamine from like sexual/romantic conquest or whatever and it leaves me unsure now that I have to curtail that side of me. I have been in a band or two that should finally be getting back to being pretty active within the next year so maybe that will get me nice and wrapped up in something exciting/rewarding - though won't do much to fix my worries about career and college but I guess the…

thanks, yeah I think you're right. Something I've always felt was a flaw of mine was a tendency to think "yeah, that's good enough, I'll stop now" and not fully realise all drops of potential in what I do. I HAVE done some kind crazier stuff than I actual revealed in my post, some of it when drunk (so I don't feel good about it - see section about drinking), some of it not. I do take risks, I think it goes hand in hand with the anabolics thing - especially if you ever fuck with Cabergoline and 5…

Thanks - I think you sum it up well. As I mentioned I'm new here and a quick look around seems to tell me some of the dudes are in a BAD place (mentally as much as anything) in comparison. I do have everything I need to be happy in the short term - I'm just looking ahead to future and trying to avoid regret later on, I guess.

You said it was her dream, I'd just let her do it. 1 month is NOTHING, it goes by in a flash. You've got the rest of your life to be stuck seeing each other every damn day then. It sounds like you're the needy one. You can only win by saying "sure" to this, because if she's got a gross outlook on relationships she'll see this as you not caring much and think of it as a positive, OR if she's got a healthy understanding of relationships she'll see it as you supporting her doing what she always wan…

I'm new here but jesus christ he's just saying you need to bring the controllers. I can't even imagine trying to hang out with friends while having my guard up like this, fuck. You're friends. Getting phased whatsoever by a simple sentence like this is by far the most insecure option

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
