Thank you so much, that is excellent advice. I think I'm going to try my hardest to make things work, because I'm realizing that I respect and love him. If things go south, I won't destroy my own health trying to fix an impossible situation. I'll definitely get a therapist too!

He doesn't do drugs, but I am afraid of him cheating. Nothing would lead me to believe he is except knowing that bipolar people often cheat and because I have been cheated on in past relationships.

Thank you, I appreciate your response. Congratulations and best of luck with your baby! He receives a money monthly from the VA because of his war injuries (bad back, ptsd, hyper vigilance), which enables him to pay for a place to live. Many of the questions you asked are ones that I can't answer and need to ask him about.

Oh my, I'm sorry to hear about your friend's condition, it sounds extremely difficult when she is unmedicated. I can say that my boyfriend's condition is not as extreme as your friend. Alcoholism is not really an issue, because he doesn't drink at all now, only in the past when he was in the army. I have been in plenty of drinking situations with him around my friends and he has always stayed sober and maintained control. We both come from alcoholic families, so his ability to never drink is ver…

He has indicated that he is not suited for 9-5 work and is not a good "civilian employee". His goal is to start his own business, and he is looking for a regular job so he can make some money in the meantime.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
