I'm sorry. I don't collect my thoughts very well. I probably worded it wrong. What I meant to say is that most people (before today and even some people today) saw it as a necessity. I never have. I see it as parents thinking it is easier to clean and such than an uncircumcised penis. Even today if people don't teach their sons personal hygiene, it can become a necessity due to infections, but I don't see it as a necessity at all unless it's life threatening or may hinder his sex life in someway…

Oh no! I was afraid I had worded my statement incorrectly, but I double checked and see that I didn't. I don't know why anyone would prefer someone to have their genitals hacked on. (And yes I know you were being sarcastic. Or at least hoping.)

Well, the rate of circumcising infants is significantly declining. By the time a child born today is old enough to be in locker rooms, most of the other boys will be uncircumcised. A lot of parents are realizing that it is unnecessary, and they're opting out of it.

Lady here. I prefer an uncut penis any day. Usually cut ones are a turn off. (Granted it isn't really his fault so it isn't a deal breaker, but if I had a choice, I'd choose uncut.)

Oh yeah. I still believe that it could be necessary sometimes, but I think I would only do it if it were life threatening or would affect his sex life in the future somehow. However I think that's pretty rare so I'm not too worried about having to make such a horrible decision.

It's a big deal to most people who are against it because parents are making a decision FOR their son who cannot consent to this. It's mutilation at best (in my opinion) because it is medically unnecessary these days. Why not let a man make this decision for himself once he is of age? That way he doesn't have to wonder what it feels like either way without having a choice of what he wants. If I were a man, I would want the choice to do to my body what I please, and I'll also leave my son his cho…
