As much as you people would love this to be true, repeatedly saying it doesn't make it any more so - this shit has been repeated since the 80s as an excuse to keep fucking over poor people and it doesn't hold up when you actually look at reality. What you're saying is overwhelmingly contradicted by any of the data we actually have on this, depending on which welfare programs you're talking about the actual fraud rates are 1-5% - is that what you mean by "far greater"?

I dunno, money is one of the biggest sources of conflict in a relationship (long term at least) so it's pretty important to be up front about it if you have shitty financial habits so everyone can make an informed decision about the relationship. It's like hiding whether or not you want to have​ kids or intend to relocate or something. It is ultimately your business but you're just setting up for failure by hiding big things like that.
