not many online publications do. I used to work as news editor in a TV news room, and most of the people I used to work with have moved on to PR, Marketing, Political PR (very niche and lucrative). When you watch TV news that is why they are mostly under 30.

10 years ago this wouldn't have even been an issue, it probably wouldn't have been an issue if she hadn't posted it publicly to facebook. Every day we get told to be careful of what sort of image we put out on social media and how this can harm our careers. You have to be incredibly naive to think these sort of things aren't going to bite you in the ass down the track.

he wont be sentenced, AFAIK, these are all civil complaints and he is being sued for damages. The statutes of limitations has past in almost all these cases.

it's such a controversial issue now I'm sure they would like to wash their hands of it and handball it over to someone else (like the police). In Australia we have mandatory reporting (mainly due to the catholic church covering up so much sexual abuse) surprised you guys don't in the USA.

Fatpeoplehate could have been called Tess Holiday hate (a third of posts would be against her). Mensrights does not target one person like this so I dont see it getting banned.

You don't really get pay outs for hurt feelings in aus courts, more actual financial losses. I'd be guessing the guy doesn't want to do anything to put his name/face out there any more, but getting the woman alone to do appearance on what ever TV show would book her.

To be honest the best thing for him is to have this thing go away as quickly as possibly...This is Australia, we don't have ridiculous payouts on civil suits like the US, but IANAL and I have no idea what sort of damages he would be looking at.

Death threats are over the top and illegal in Australia, but if the true story had not come to light and received as much media attention as it has then I wouldn't be surprised if the innocent man went on to receive death threats (not that I am saying 2 wrongs make a right).

The one my wife used this year did as she saw the test in the bin the next day had turned postive and she got excited. From the website below: " Some tests will produce a faint positive test result if read after the instructed time. You should use a clock or a watch and record the time you perform the test and read results at the instructed time." Most pregnancy test kits turn postive after a few hours... thats why the instructions say disregard any results after 15 minutes.

Make sure you cover yourself if you do go down this path....meet somewhere public and open (with plenty of witnesses). Have someone she wont recognise nearby as a witness and make sure you spend your time after the meeting in the company of others who would be able to provide a good alibi.

google it there is heaps of stuff on it. I guess they rely on people not knowing. A friend of mine got caught out as she threw her negative test in the bin then later noticed it was positive.

the woman may not be pregnant - most pregnancy test kits will turn positive a day after a woman pees on them. The instructions say to disregard results after 15 minutes. It would be a pretty stupid woman who would report this to the police...but what normal people consider stupid police consider (see) everyday.

Pregnancy kits give a result for about 15 minutes then usually turn positive after a day. It says so on the packet.

Don't forget most states in Australia have a supervisory clause which means if the older person is a supervisor (eg teacher, employer) then the minimum age is raised to 18.

this is probably happening in pretty much every school every where in the world. It's ridiculous that a person can be charged with life destroying offences for receiving pictures of a person similar to their own age, especially if they didn't even ask for those pictures.
