ALWAYS call the police. The first thing your insurance company is going to ask for is a police report and if you don't call the police you will be screwed. The cop is an impartial third party and the report should reflect who is at fault for the accident. The person at fault will also get a ticket for whatever they did wrong, which is what they deserve. If someone suggests just exchanging information, that's a big red flag that they don't have insurance, don't have a valid license, have a warran…
