I was meaning in the sense that it is evolutionary adaptive to be able to adapt to your present environment. Perhaps that was poor wording on my part.

I was referring to adapting to the present moment, people's behavior changes based on the present environment.

Part of evolution is the ability to adapt to different environments.

So I am seeing a lot of discussion how special privileges for women and how they are not responsible for their actions. Can someone from TRP compile a list of female privilege as well as actions that women are not held responsible for?

On divorce, I don't believe for a split second that men cheat more than women. Perhaps men are caught more, but I don't believe they actually do it more. As our culture has shifted so has this although the rates for men were much higher up until recently. The point I was trying to illustrate though is simply because one person initiated the divorce does not mean they were "at fault" for the demise of the relationship. Alimony, child support were laws set in place during an era where it was neede…

The claim that women have no responsibilities is a ridiculous notion. Women who work and pay for their way in life, who have the responsibility to take care of children and raise them must have no responsibilities, right? absolve themselves of any consequences for their actions This does not lead to the conclusion: therefore they are children I would argue that it is a human condition to attempt to explain away any bad behavior. Its called the actor-observer bias where an individual will interpr…

Not every conclusion to every scientific article is fact, either. Is that what you do when science doesn't support your feelings? But you feel comfortable enough to dictate the subjective experience of women telling you they have no desire to have children? You are correct in the fact that the majority of women have children and even the women who are childfree aren't all because of choice. But the rates of childfree women are ever increasing. Countries such as Russia have been trying to incenti…

Perhaps you should reconsider your analysis of it being all women because there is an increasing rate of women who are choosing not to now that they have economic freedom.

Your prefrontal cortex does more than simply choose between stimuli. It has the ability to process logic arguments and scenarios. You could make an argument that the desire to have sex is merely the biological reflection of "wanting" to reproduce. Does that mean they get an "urge" to reproduce? At that point we're simply dealing with a semantic argument. Sure, desire for kids is common, it may be stronger in some rather than others but not everyone experiences that desire or urge and its not mer…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/14 11:54 PM

There are also people who don't want kids not because of their position in life but because they simply don't want them. Not everyone feels the urge or need to have them as well as the fact that biology doesn't trump all, that's why we have a prefrontal cortex. There are an increasing number of people who opt out of parenthood nowadays which give an indication of this.

This is where I see many misrepresent the argument. No one thinks we're all nurture. Its a mix of nature and nurture. The disagreement of it is the extent of nature vs. nurture. It is because of this uncertainty in the extent of nature vs. nurture that the argument is we should not impose roles on people so that they can actualize on their true talent and potential not just assumed talent because of their gender. There were characteristics that have been historically considered male or female tr…

You're looking at culture in static terms. Female sexuality has been vilified and shamed for a huge amount of time. Relationship advice was not shamed for the most part because monogamy was a well accepted paradigm. It wasn't until relatively recently in history female sexuality has taken a more positive light due to active work from feminism. Our culture is a long way from "solving" gender issues and biases. Women have had a lot of focus on gender related issues causing the increase in acceptan…

Because sex has always been taboo. Its only been recently that it is becoming less so with the forward of feminism and the somewhat new sex positive movement. Why some of the seduction community is met with such hostility is because of its manipulative tactics etc. I mean you can have casual sex and be ethical going about it. Now that casual sex is more prevalent in our culture and there are more sex positive attitudes, there is more of a push to provide those resources to those who need it.

Do you think guys were the only demographic that ever had problems that people didn't pay heed to? Groups have had to get really vocal before any seriousness is paid to them. Just look at the civil rights movement, gay rights, women's suffrage etc. One subreddit that just started is it really change though but there have been books out there and published (look at Mark Manson) that offer advice without the hateful baggage.

You were the one who gave the initial reason/narrative! I was simply arguing against your logic about why it's worse.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/14 12:48 PM
8

Still don't buy your reasoning that one is worse than the other. So what if a guy cheated while in a good repationship? That shows a remarkable lack of respect to the person he supposedly loved and will effectively destroy the relationship. But if a woman cheated when the relationship was bad? Then what? It speeds up the inevitable demise of the relationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/14 04:51 AM

The way people at TRP often phrase it implies this is generally a woman issue when in reality it is a human issue. I get that men don't care about other men's behavior but the language used places blame on an enter gender instead being honest that it's really just a human problem. There are shitty people in both genders.

HAHAH! You think taking something for granted is a gender specific trait, oh please. That has nothing to do with gender. I've seen plenty of guys take their partners for granted. And in regards to romance- those are the behaviors you first did at the beginning of your relationship. Its one of the reasons she was attracted and decided to be in a relationship. Except your analogy misses out on a key component of the discussion, TRP doesn't just simply discuss the way you should behave. The conversation is dripping with anger, resentment, accusations, disdain, hate, not towards society and socialization but towards women specifically. You guys often claim "But we don't hate women!" Then follow that up with discussions of how women are fucking useless except for breeding and their wet holes and praise for revenge fantasies. Your analogy was particularly …

No, TRP goes way beyond that by claiming denigrating absolutes about half the population. "Do X because ALL women are unloving, disloyal, golddigging, hamstering fucking sluts that should be controlled, dominated, manipulated, and denigrated because of their evil, coniving, hypergamous nature". Do you really not see the difference? It definitely goes way beyond "locker room talk".
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/14 09:59 PM

The advice given in that comment is common advice and TRP really cannot claim ownership of any of it. It just seems funny to me that you point to the most basic of advice for being social and flirty as if that's proof of TRP. Men and women have differences but TRP grossly overstates those differences. There is a larger spread of differences within each gender than between them. Humans are equal from the mere standpoint of being living, breathing, human beings. That's why we aim to treat people equal under the eyes of the law. That's not to say everyone is the exact fucking same, that's ridiculous. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. But the goal is equal opportunity not equal outcome. The theme that cons…

How you expect to be seen as reasonable when claiming that men and women are actually the same is beyond me- when everybody else sees it as clear as fucking day NO ONE IS FUCKING CLAIMING THAT. That is a straw-man argument that is brought up over and over again. That is willful misrepresentation of the counter argument and you know it. No one thinks men and women are exact same. Yes and no. There are two standards but society doesn't currently treat them the same. So the double standard in the army should not be there, that is the position I am taking. Just because it is currently there does not mean it should be. I don't think the military example applies to the sexual double standard (i.e. slut v. stud) because think about it this way - if there was one standard for the army, would anyone be shaming men for completing the physical fitness test just because it was easi…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/14 02:58 AM

As far as military goes- there should not be two physical fitness standards for men and women. In the middle of combat you need able bodied individuals. However, having one standard of fitness is not sexist. Women can gain strength just look at female body builders, it just takes more time/effort/training to reach that level for women than men. There is nothing sexist about that. Having two standards is sexist though because it's applying two rules to two different groups despite individual diff…

People have different tastes in erotic material, different things that make them orgasm and different techniques that help them orgasm. The majority of people tend to have specific things that most often bring them to orgasm (sexual fantasies/fetishes/techniques). Being with an "alpha" is far from what is required for an orgasm. I advise you not to bank on that in your own sex life. Nothing is more of a turn off than a bad and selfish lover and any "alpha" status you have achieved would go right…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/14 10:42 PM
14

Hahaha, the mental aspect is important but the mental aspect doesn't mean "being with an alpha male" especially if you think that means you do not need any sexual skill. I know for myself, no one was ever able to make me orgasm until I taught myself how to let others make me orgasm. Now I consistently orgasm given the right technique. No alpha dick necessary. I would also trust sexological experts who study the field for a living much more than some random dudes on the internet.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/14 09:34 PM
18

You have a severe misunderstanding of the act of sex and how orgasms are achieved. No, it doesn't take an Alpha dick to make a woman orgasm. If that's what you believe, you're probably a lousy lay and probably won't get very many repeat customers. It takes her knowing her own body, how she us able to get off and as well as skill and technique from her partner. Funny enough, these things usually come with more sexual experience, something that TRP detests so much.

The universality of jealousy doesn't actually negate what I was discussing. What's so amazing about humans is that we are incredibly adaptable to a variety of different environmental contexts. Sexual jealousy is a common emotion, it occurs in both men and women. Considering how adaptable humans are I would especially expect to see sexual jealousy within a culture that promotes monogamous bonding. The thing about evolutionary psychology is that it is an incredibly speculative field - because let'…

Humans are incredibly adaptable, so if we have a biological basis and you filter it through different cultural/ societal contexts you will have different outcomes. The stud/slut phenomena is only applicable in cultures that have monogamous pairings, sometimes in polygynous cultures, or cultures that pass lineage through the paternity line. There are cultures where whole villages raise children thus the paternity of the child is of no concern thus there is no slut/stud phenomena. My question to y…

I'm not quite sure that's the same thing. Possibly though, I guess I doubt there is that many terminally ill people divorcing their spouses considering they will be dead soon.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/14 01:24 AM
6

Reread my original comment, I was simply using that as one possible example/explanation behind who initiates divorce in an individual relationship. I wasn't stating that is the reason women are divorcing, I wasn't using it as the end all be all example. There are tons of reasons for divorce. I was just showing that whomever initiates divorce does not necessarily show the reason behind the divorce nor whose "at fault" for the end of the relationship. You are arguing against a claim I did not make…

Burden of proof is on you, my friend.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/14 08:00 PM
12

Why are these women unhappy though? You claim it's because they have too high of expectations. Men tend to withdraw more in relationships in times of trouble so perhaps they are not working with their wife to sort out the issue and instead they ignore it. That can easily lead to unhappiness in a relationship Which can easily lead to divorce if one person just isn't trying.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/14 07:50 PM
18

Do you have statistics for surprise divorces.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/14 07:47 PM
14

Well that's not false information. Even if the disparity is decreasing, men are still more likely to cheat. I was using that scenario as a descriptor though. Sex survey. This survey shows that divorced men were twice as likely to have been unfaithful.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/14 07:46 PM
14

That was not the point of my comment. I was giving an example of how you cannot draw accurate conclusions about the relationship based on who filed for divorce.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/14 07:24 PM
16

I was offering one example of why whoever initiates divorce has very little to say about the relationship itself. Whoever initiates divorce is not necessarily "at fault" for the relationship's demise. And how you cannot accurately draw conclusions from that data point.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/14 07:21 PM
13

And? What does that prove? I was merely offering one example illustrating why whoever initiated divorce tells you extremely little about the relationship itself. You cannot claim that because women tend to initiate divorce more that they were the cause of the demise of the relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/14 07:12 PM
26

Yup. Whoever initiates the divorce says very little about the relationship itself. More men cheat than women, could this be one possible explanation (for some divorces where a woman initiates)? Does TRP recommend women stay in relationships where they are continually disrespected or is that only something allowed to men because the same would make a woman "less honorable". Edit: added the info in parenthesis due to people misunderstanding the comment I was making.

There is ebb and flow to relationships so equality in relationships is not always a one and one trade. If he stopped meeting my needs much like if I stopped meeting his you bet that would cause problems. I didn't mean to make it sound like your husbands didn't do anything. I would be inclined to disagree but whatever. I know what you think of women's "true nature" and I think it's a load of crap, frankly.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/14 11:58 PM
6

Hahaha, you think that when either one of you does an essential life task as a favor for the other that's submission? I think you misunderstand what that word means. The relationship you described (under your definition) you submit to each other would you really call that a dominate-submissive relationship? I certainly wouldn't. In that kind of relationship one party is dominant, one party is submissive.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/14 11:56 PM
4

You completely missed the point of my original comment. I am wary of those relations because a number of the same behaviors are seen in abusive relationships. Which I'm sure is why others may also be apprehensive.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/14 11:49 PM
6

Of course he has his own tasks. I don't consider the dividing of tasks submission. I consider acquiescing to someone else's will submission because that is what the word submission in fact means.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/14 11:31 PM

That has nothing to do with what wrote. Unless you think that people in abusive relationships have a higher relationship satisfaction. And if that's the case, that is completely fucked.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/14 11:28 PM

Yeah, I've never thought that dividing essential life tasks as being submission. I've always considered it to be when one person's decisions trumps another's. You really have a straw man argument for the non-submissive women as some incredibly selfish person, slothing around, making demands and doing nothing in return. And I do not agree with that. My own skepticism/hesitation of d/s relationships comes from volunteering for a domestic violence and sexual assault organization and there are a number of similar characteristics to those relationships and rp relationships to abusive relationships that my clients have experienced. Its a type of dynamic that I would recommend people be cautious with. Not saying there's anything inherently bad about them or that it's surely to lead to abuse. But just be careful.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/14 10:53 PM

You know, I like taking care of my loved ones, I cook, I clean, I love sex with my partner and want to make sure he's satisfied but I wouldn't call that submission at all. Perhaps because it's coupled with the fact that my boyfriend also does these things for me as well. We take care of each other. You make it seem like a woman who doesn't "submit" has a disregard for her loved ones which is an incredibly disingenuous argument.

The science TRP uses is a soft science. Its evolutionary psychology, one of the most speculative of the soft sciences. As far as hypergamy, TRP tends to misunderstand the concept. All it means is women tend to marry someone above their social class. Aka marrying up. To think that's not socially influenced even slightly is a bit ludicrous considering for centuries women were solely dependent upon who they marry as well as the fact that this effect is decreasing in more equal societies. TRP also m…

Ignorance is bliss, doesn't mean we should remain ignorant. How human psychology works is that people tend to be less satisfied with their choices the more available choices they have. But morally speaking, we should not attempt to limit people's choices to force happiness as it were.

Do you really think breaking down traditional gender roles suddenly means that people should be rude to one another? That argument just seems like you're grasping at straws. I …

I have never seen a TBP person assert men and women are the exact same. The argument lies on what the extent of those differences are and what those differences imply.

The basic idea of it, yes. TRP? Sexual strategy based off of evolutionary psychology designed to maximize successful male outcomes of copulation and/or relationships with females. Honestly, I think it would be in your interest to create some required readings for /r/purplepilldebate if you believe that so many on here don't actually understand TRP.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/14 05:53 PM

I can easily say the same about something like feminism which many TRPers fail to understand on a fundamental level. They haven't actually tried to understand it so they're just ignorant, right? Simply because there is disagreement doesn't mean it's an issue of ignorance. Edit: If you think they misunderstand it you should try explaining it instead of just dismissing them.

My understanding from RP relationships comes from the different TRP relationship accounts and stories I've read on those subreddit and frankly they sound disgusting to me. The whole point of TRP is to constantly "maintain frame" so you don't "lose the attraction". That means being dominate in everyday life. I would not have kinky bdsm styled sex with someone I did not trust, and I would not trust someone who I could not get to know because they were constantly trying to "maintain frame" and couldn't show vulnerability (I'm referring to relationships at this point). Except if a woman was too cautious she wouldn't reproduce and pass on her genes. The women who reproduced more passed on her genes more and she likely had more sex than her counter parts. I'm not making any certain claims about female sexuality but I think women were more promiscuous than we give them credit for. Except at what point did humans associate sex with pregnancy? There was probably a long stretch of time where we didn't make that connection meaning why would we be cautious about sex? Especilly since it was so pleasurable for both men and women. That probably had a huge influence on our evolution. If you compare different current tribes there are also a variety of ways to organize sexuality and many of them don't revolve around women being cautious. As far as evolution if you look at some of the isolated tribes that are still around you'll see that a lot don't follow parental investment theory which is what TRP uses as evidence. In these groups women didn't need to trade sexual fidelity for protection, they lived in a more communal way. So how many millions of years did our ancestors live like that before agricultural times where we see sexual fidelity traded for resources/protection. Best answer here. I notice a common trend in trp. When someone enters a relationship, they have a chance to see a side of an individual that the majority of people never see. Relationships involve a lot of intense emotion so sometimes when something goes wrong it can evoke intense reactions or selfishness. The problem TRP has is it only sees women in relationships so they assume that selfish, intense side is something women only have. What they fail to realize is they don't have relationships wi…

Except whoever initiated the end of a relationship actually tells you very little about the relationship itself. For example, one person could have cheated on the other and the person who was cheated on initiated the end of the relationship. Whoever ended the relationship is not necessarily the person to blame for its demise and often times it's both parties to blame. Trp has very myopic view on what that data could indicate.

Violence, threat, fear, and manipulation are excellent ways to control someone. They are very effective. But if that's what someone has to do to maintain a relationship with someone else then that reflects incredibly poorly on a person using that control. And if a woman doesn't want to have sex with her husband, there are attraction issues there. She's not as attracted as she once was. Where things go a little sour is that women don't always recognize the issue as a lack of attraction -- instead, they just feel distant, unloved, and think it's because the husband left the toilet seat up or worked too late last night or missed the hamper with one of his socks or because he doesn't buy her nice things any more. Those two questions don't coincide. I would choose to be a man simply because I wouldn't have to deal with menstruating and pregnancy but that doesn't mean that men are more "honorable/ethical/valuable/likeable". Umm...you can make predictions off of probabilities, that's why they are predictions not certainties. In regards to the self-fulfilling prophecies I am more referring to the negative assumptions of women held by TRP, such as the women are children idea. You treat someone like a child and they are going to act like one. And I'm assuming redpillers don't actually want women to act like children, so that's why I am saying be careful with it.

There are multiple theories and schools of thought in every subfield of social sciences. Why? Because humans are complex and have multiple influences. Definitely agree. The fact that both men and women could take time off for parental leave increases equality pretty significantly. It decreases the hesitation an employer may have about hiring a woman due to potential maternity leave circumstances because men also take part in parental leave. Although Sweden is special, if I recall correctly, the government compensates mother's and fathers for their time off as to decrease the burden on the companies themselves.

And that is factually false. There are a number of promiscuous cultures, take the Mosuo for example, a matriarchal society. Sexual possessiveness is frowned upon.

Right, why the fuck else would people get married? Maybe so their husband wouldnt cheat on them perhaps?

But a marriage entitles a man to monopolize a womans sexuality? Men also deny women sex believe it or not.

Let me show you a source that /u/soapheader showed me yesterday. Sex Survey It shows that: Cheaters are busy: They've had an average of 29 sex partners in their lifetimes (and a median of 12). They're more uninhibited and more permissive -- more likely to have watched sexually explicit videos, to have paid for sex, and to have had revenge or rebound sex; and more apt to approve of premarital sex and to say it's OK to have sex without an emotional relationship (45 percent of cheaters say so, comp…

So I don't see your evidence supporting any of the claims you made earlier. All it states is essentially men tend to desire/want/have more sex than women and more sexual partners but they also cheat more than women. Cheating occurs with more promiscuous people but the studies did not make a differentiate between men and women in that regard. So while promiscuous women are more likely to cheat, so are promiscuous men. So that supports the idea that promiscuity in men is really not all that differ…

Ive read over trp material and from what I gather what that guy took from the redpill is what is promoted. Obviously you dont think he had the faintest grasp of what trp truly is, so excuse me if I would like some clarification from someone who claims to know what trp theory truly is. So Im asking, in what ways were they not adhering to trp theory? Honestly, your denial of his understanding just seems like a convenient way to ignore the ramifications of trp and the way a lot of users interpret t…

Good job at side stepping the question.

No true Scotsman, huh? So what is "true" redpill theory then?

Because its so difficult to believe that cultivating a feeling of supremecy and hate can lead to negative outcomes.

Confirmation bias can easily explain that.

I think some feel the need to push the idea that women are unintelligent, irrational, childlike, sluts/whores etc. so that they can justify their behavior to themselves. When you dehumanize a group, such as what the Nazis did to Jews and the KKK did to black people, its easier to treat them with utter disregard, contempt and violence.

"Goverment child support" is currently called welfare. If a woman cannot afford the child on her own, the government and thus taxpayers pick up the slack.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
