Believe it or not, you will be better than with someone that does not love you, if you want to be close to your kids you will find a way. Please try to see light at the end of the

I was about to say that, if you are on your 50s and fit, that changes the game completely! I am in my late 30s and I had two girlfriends after my divorce, I think divorce made me cherish my time and my well being so I don’t waste that much time if something is not working

I wish I would have been in that situation instead of the one I had, have you thought about being there the first year so you could see your son first steps and first other things? As long as you don’t hate her or anything of course

M38 - I do a lot of things by myself. Kayaking, gym, studying, visiting my daughter and having her every other weekend, I even take myself for a nice dinner every once in a while. It is important to mention that I moved to another country 3 years ago and I know not that many people or people I grew up with so it is basically part of the process to have more friends

It is bad and we have been through it. During this process focus on yourself and be a little bit self centered. Think about doing things for your future self

Please listen to this person, a violent event and you being kicked out of the house in the middle of the night would have helped you keep your kids 100% now ask for family protection, a drug test from her and divorce. Your kids don’t need to see you being punched

Demand full custody, if he is able to have kids around only step kids or his own, he is not married to your ex yet. You got this, and also ask her for child support since you will be the one with them all the time

I know to cases where the ex wife got pregnant a few years after divorce and yes both kids got DNA tested

I had a similar situation but we were in two different countries, “it is not the same to call the Devil than seeing it coming” She got mad and even though we were 3 years living apart and she said I could but now I see it as some excuse to get rid of me…

27 is still young, you shouldn’t be begging for love, I am sorry you are too in love to see things clearly and yes, people marry to stay married and to spend their whole life together but if that changed, it is time to take some decisions

Don’t you realize he is provoking you? EVERYTHING can be used at court. Calm down, people like that feel worse when they are ignored

There is a psychologist in my country that says: All children MUST be loved but you don’t have to feel bad if you don’t because the kid remains you of a wound that hasn’t healed, you don’t need to feel guilty if you don’t In the other hand, he is a father, it is not the kids fault, he should be raised with a dad, specially if he wants to be part of it
/r/Divorce_Men09/06/26 03:53 AM

Now it is hard to see because you were interested in her but please, think about dealing with that during a long relationship. You dodged a bullet!
/r/Divorce_Men08/06/26 11:28 AM

If you are in USA you can file a motion after a few years to have more and your kids after 12 years old can have their opinion of dad taken into consideration, with a motion to have more time for their dad, please work on that, I haven’t met anybody who complained their dad tried to be with them all the time. Please think about the next 2, 5 to 10 years, a lot can change!

Nop, this is the moment you start doing things together and ask your ex not to name her new husband DAD because you are not dead
/r/Divorce_Men07/06/26 03:35 PM

Please OP not your dog not your problem, you already offered options, set boundaries
/r/Divorce_Men07/06/26 01:28 PM

Simple answer: There is no such a thing as Dog support or whatever, specifically if the other person earns more than you. You have to put limits, otherwise she will be asking for every single thing

Don’t you think an unanswered text message could be an excuse? When women decide to give up they already thought about it a year ago and even her close friends know

If you are in USA this could be taken as abandoning the home (wife AND kids) that could lead to a high alimony or to limit your rights if you go to court

I live in FL, USA and I was able to file before she did in our home country where I was going to have 0 custody, I filed still in love and still wondering if we could ever get back together but I thought of my daughter who was less than 2 years old and moved on with the whole process, now I have 50/50 but she works from home so she has her all the time because we agreed not to have a day care still, when she starts kindergarten I will ask for more nights with me

I am a lawyer in my home country so I tried to do the process myself until I needed an actual lawyer to sign documents and so on… For me, first it needs to be a family lawyer and someone sees himself as a shark, not someone too passive. The only thing I would worry about it alimony but you will have 50/50 as long as you have space to have your kids and they have their things there. In the other hand, now that you are starting thing awful divorce process, I strongly recommend you to think of your…

I am also in Florida and filled for divorce two years ago, Florida is a 50/50 state unless you have a violent background, get a lawyer asap

Do you feel that you married her without knowing her properly?
/r/Divorce_Men23/05/26 02:49 AM

Maybe you two are on the same page still, divorce is a rocky highway, if you have to then at least you know you did everything for your daughter
/r/Divorce_Men21/05/26 10:14 PM

You are a great dad btw, the fact that you ask those silly questions for your daughter makes you one, anyways, enough stalking, I think people stop being a couple for different reasons, one of them is to run out of love or even physically not being attracted to each other, maybe you should do couples therapy and depending on how it goes, individual therapy, before you take any decision, even being depressed without knowing can change your whole life

I made my baby girl an email address when she was born, I sent her pictures of everything she does weekly, first mango, first time riding a bike and so on, somehow, I realized I was keeping a journal of all the good things I do for my girl, I have proof of the gifts to her mom (pictures of my baby and her mom with same dresses, foot print with picture of her, makeup and so on) I don’t care about other people, because I know there is no way to control what people say about you, I just rely on the…

In my case we separated for a year and spoke about filling divorce after 13 months,I did it before her so I would have more rights in US than in my home country and this was a life changer, I can have my daughter 50/50 instead of her having full custody, anyways: I filled and tired let my lawyer notify her but the moment I filled telemarketers started calling her offering law services

I had a similar situation but I filled for divorce and got 50/50 custody, taking your child more than 50miles from where you filled for divorce or lived the past 6 months is kidnapping, at least in Florida, get a lawyer asap

He is saying that because men cope differently, we need to move and to take it out in different ways, that’s why you see so many broken hearted guys getting ripped

Give your best, somehow she is communicating a lot! She feels safe saying she doesn’t have any rather than making one up just to satisfy you.

I have a 3 year old and in my home country we celebrate the last Sunday of May, I will get something from Amazon and get a pic for my kid, so she will see she gave her mom gifts for Mother’s Day. She wasn’t the best spouse but she is my child’s mom and putting my ego on the side, I believe it is the right thing to do FOR your child

Before getting into this road, try to work on yourself and to do couples therapy, that can give you a better understanding of the situation and trust me, being in a sexless marriage would be a no no to me, however, HRT and your wife checking her hormones too can help if there is nothing psychological

Do it, your kids with have quality time with mom and dad somehow
/r/Divorce_Men09/05/26 03:22 AM

Most people here might say it is worthless but if you feel like that, speak to your wife and even write down the “rules”before you move back in, I strongly recommend couples therapy, only if the two of you want to work things out. My biggest regret is not to be 100% for my baby girl, for all the other I feel better

I know that feeling! When I drop off my 3 year old at her moms (she has almost full custody because she works from home and convince the judge a day care would be bad for my baby…) my little girl starts asking me to stay and read a story or to ask me why questions so I can stay answering… it is really hard and that voice asking me to stay breaks me from the inside

1) Do it for your baby, I was kicked out of the house when my baby was just 7 weeks old and I still gave her 2 mothers day gifts. First was a picture of her holding my baby and a foot print using pink ink, second was a matching outfit and I took pictures of her with my baby matching from head to toe, 1st gift was $10 and the second was $20, I send weekly emails to my baby showing her what she did and telling her something funny she did too, she will get to these emails from Mother’s Day and she …

I do and I also take a picture of my baby girl handing her the gift. I do it for my baby and my ex wife knows. 1) Gift was a picture of her with our baby at the church like uplifting her and also on the same frame a picture of her hand print in pink ($20 at Walgreens) 2) Matching outfits and a “photo session” for her and my baby. ($25 at Amazon) I think that I will have to see her for the next 16 years and I might as well be nice because of my baby girl

If you like the dogs keep them, otherwise do not return them to a person that clearly doesn’t want any dogs. I will not assume you are in USA, just please find them a home away from her

I am sorry but you can’t be gay and committed to a woman. That wouldn’t be fair to neither of you, life is too short to spend your best years begging for something the other person can’t offer

Many of us have started from scratch and it feels terrible, with this I am not trying to under estimate your sadness, just for you to know that this phase/period/time however you want to call it, will be over after you do some lifestyle changes, things will be better, right now things like having a clean shave when FaceTiming your kids should improve the way your own kids see you. If you are not able to see them, write them emails, create an email account where they can read all your messages wh…

I know this sounds really easy but do your best to put yourself first. Talk to you like you are the best person you know. “A day at the time” might sound cliche but it is baby steps until you are able to run

I separated with a new born and I just went to the psychiatrist and asked for antidepressants. It’s been 3 years and everything has been good but I feel that the pills just made me avoid the feelings and the situation itself. I wanted to be 100% okay during my child’s best times. Therapy is a must even if you don’t think you need it, we are men and we are stubborn

Being a cannabis heavy user isn’t going to help either. I used to smoke when I was a younger and that just made me what to do nothing the whole day. After what you explained, I think she is giving you the greatest gift by letting you go

I split when my baby was 7 weeks old, was living at a friends office for months until I managed to get enough money and a house for myself. I know how deep low you feel now but trust me. The main reason why I started taking meds was my baby girl, she was 7 weeks when my STBXW kicked me out of the house. I realized I needed to be 100% functioning to be able to be a great dad and to enjoy my life fully. Now after 2 years, I do kayaking and go to the gym 5 times a week. That makes wonders because you end up feeling more attractive and back in the game

In my opinion, being able to be in peace with what destroyed your marriage helps a lot. I would recommend exercising, therapist (if they are expensive where you live, try videocalls from other countries) Exercise is extremely good to keep you in shape and have a glow up too but not the solution for everyone
