If a woman doesn't want to become pregnant, she need not have sex. Using a condom, using birth control, and not having sex during an ovulation cycle, lowers the chance of pregnancy to virtually zero. At conception, a cell is created that has unique dna. The dna is not the mother's. It is a cell that can be determined to not be the mother. From that cell, a human grows. Two months from conception, the collection of cells may not be a fully developed human, but it is a separate life from the mother. Can't speak for this guy, but most pro-life people (myself included) agree with abortion only when it will save the life of the mother. We tend to not believe that the baby's life is MORE important than the life of the mother, but EQUAL in importance. Similar to self defense. It is wrong to kill a man who has done nothing to you. If that man attacks you and threatens your life, it is no longer murder, but self defense. Well, on a moral level, I'm going to have to disagree with you. I am not saying that I condone sex with fourteen year olds. However, a twenty year old who has sex with someone he believes to be eighteen, in my opinion, is not the same as a twenty year old who has sex with someone he believes to be fourteen. I don't think it's right for a fourteen year old to be marrying. I also don't think it' right for them to be having sex. I'm not really seeing where you answered my question, though. I understand that there is no legal difference in knowing or not. But what do you feel about a moral difference? If age of consent is eighteen, and you have sex with a person who has an id that shows them to be eighteen, is it morally rape if the person was actually fourteen and the id was a fake? If you believed the minor to be of age, the minor lied about their age, and you stopped all contact after finding out their true age, do you believe you should be held to the same punishment as someone who knowingly rapes a minor? Firstly, no seminal fluid was found. Of course, that doesn't prove that there was not a rape, but it certainly does not prove a rape. Secondly, the bruises she had corroborate her story, but do not prove that he caused them. Now I am not saying I know the truth, but saying that the jury convicted based on evidence, therefore he is definitely guilty, is faulty logic at best. Innocent people are found guilty in some cases.
