I did not know that was a thing. The woman in question was white, though, and I believe most of the damage was psychic (being just a gf, she got nothing when they split up). IIRC, dude did okay, like $40K a year in his mid-20s (1990s dollars). Lost touch with him after I moved, so I don't know what became of him. Maybe he got rich enough to afford one of those status symbols.

Actually, I'm pretty down with "her body, her choice". I'm also down with "her actions, her consequences". I also go from zero to nuclear when people call cheating men sexist/misogynist. Maybe they're assholes, or maybe they're sad and lonely, but it's got fuck-all to do with women in general.

For a couple years, I lived next door to a guy whose gf paid tribute by diluting his Colombian ass, draining him of all his flavor, consuming it, and dumping what remained in the trash (note: he really was Colombian). I could not believe the shit he'd let her get away with.

BBC, natch. Like you'd ever hear about this in the American press.

This is not limited to social media. Before I retired like a boss, I used to travel North America doing shows, and I ran into this a lot. I called her the Small Town Hottie. As in, she's an 8 in Who Cares, Iowa, but a strong 5 in any major metropolitan area. She's used to a certain kind of attention from men, and when she doesn't get it, it just doesn't fucking compute. So she'll sink hours into trying to get you to admit you want that shit, so she can shut you down and close the logic loop. The…

Ugh. The shit people choose to believe in order to support their worldview.

Oh, yeah. That's good stuff. I was just thinking about the average person at home with a sock or something. Also a little caffeine-addiction joke. But yeah, you're right.

I'll have to go with the coffeemaker. Not exactly a earth-shattering need, but props to Melita Bentz (sp?), especially if you've ever tried to make it the "traditional" way.

I've never given the matter much thought. Like Captain Kirk, I've always known I'll die alone (even though he didn't). But thinking about it now, is it anything like, say, an atheist who doesn't indulge what he believes is a fairy tale before he goes? Or more like the price of admission to the MGTOW life? I suppose the answer probably depends on how much is vital human nature, and how much is needless programming.

"We should do away with the absolutely specious notion that everybody has to earn a living. It is a fact today that one in ten thousand of us can make a technological breakthrough capable of supporting all the rest. The youth of today are absolutely right in recognizing this nonsense of earning a living. We keep inventing jobs because of this false idea that everybody has to be employed at some kind of drudgery because, according to Malthusian Darwinian theory he must justify his right to exist.…

It's freeing, right? I spent a lot of time trying to fit in - and failing. What I found frustrating was doing a thing that wasn't in my nature, trying very hard at it, and failing. Later in life, I decided there was no profit in trying to be a loving, devoted whatever. It was enough that I obeyed the important rules. The made-up ones were just exhausting.

I read in a novel a line about how you can't argue with chemistry. If you're trying to ignore it, that has to be difficult. When I was younger, there was no community for this, so I imagine there's a resource for you to use, right there.

Yeah, it seems I said some things that don't fly around here. Par for the course, for me. I just found the sub and couldn't stop reading. This is such a weird little community. I mean that in a good way. Charging blindly into a sub is a good way to get banned, but whatever. I'll just read if it comes to that.

No kids, no wife, no one to alter the direction of my life. Doesn't sound selfish at all. It's weird how - in the age of "self care" - the idea of depending on no one and being self-sufficient is somehow "selfish".

I suppose I should be insulted you think I decided to troll the sub, and that was the best I could come up with.

I have studiously avoided any such thing. I learned early on to avoid the wrong kind of scrutiny. I obey the important laws, and don't shit where I eat, so I figure society doesn't need to be up my ass with a microscope. Pretty sure it's the opposite: they owe me one.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
