It's less pervasive than the US. For example, that role probably had a particular potential for fraud or embezzlement I am guessing? Whereas even blue collar jobs require these checks in the US. Even jobs with no defrauding potential require these. It's very invasive.

If you're her boss, her performance reflects on you. Tbh I'd support her in the job, go above and beyond. Talk her up to the higher ups and inflate her ego by telling her how great she is. Try and get her promoted out of your unit, or get her to think she's above the work. Give her a glowing reference. That's a very decent question! Two part answer. I have access to rent free accom for an period unknown but which will exceed 6 months. In addition, I intend to get a shit kicker 3 day a week job while obtaining the cert. So, I will have a liveable though not luxurious income for the time it takes to find a job. For example, while I will want to start ASAP once qualified I won't have to take any offer. Nor will I be in a deplorable situation if an offer is not forthcoming immediately.

Thanks for comment! You're right. I'd consider a steroid cycle or two. Physique is okay - muscular but not as tight as I was this time a year ago. Never been swole but I look good in gym kit. 6 months will be sufficient to return to form, but you are right that it will take longer to achieve a fully marketable physique. Fortunately, I have good genes and good facial structure. That will assist. Maybe I should market to the older homemaker demographic? Good feedback.

Nah I do not. The initial 6 months savings would go to life support while obtaining them. Yes, you're right. My emergency fund is low even for someone not doing a sharp life change.
