They also describe it in connection to the patriarchy too, so essentially blaming men for their own problems. The victim blaming that they claim to be against, but doesn’t apply to the problems that men face.

They say that “All forms of female circumcision are associated with more extensive mutilations, especially with "infibulation", in which the entire genitalia including the clitoris and labia are removed and then sewn up except for a small hole. This procedure is comparable to removing the penis.” So in this case they’re saying that all forms of FGM are worse, but sure they’ll acknowledge that there some problems for what is done to men and boys.

I suppose we’ll have to agree to disagree. I think another example of this is like saying we shouldn’t advocate for universal healthcare (in a U.S. context) because it’s too grand of an idea. If we don’t start by fighting for the correct position we’re probably not going to end up where we want to be.

The one problem though (if I’ve read it correctly) is that they also perpetuate the idea that MGM and FGM have substantive differences, which we know really isn’t true. The anatomy itself of course is different, but that doesn’t mean the justifications for them and the consequences aren’t the same. Given that, it can make it seem in many people’s minds that MGM isn’t significant or not a problem to be addressed, but FGM of course is.

Yeah I've read a lot about how restoration has helped guys. I actually have restored a bit myself too. The cool thing about Foregen is that they'll be able to regrow the structures that can't be stretched back with restoring, like the nerves, frenar delta, and the ridgid band. I know it's awesome to think it's only a few years away! Personally, I'm restoring right now since it's actually brought me quite a few benefits. They've said that they can't be 100% sure if a restored foreskin would interfere with the procedure, but it's hard to imagine how there would be a problem. If anything they would just have to excise the skin you restored and add the regenerated foreskin with all the new structures. If you have anymore questions don't hesitate to ask!

I think what they're doing is great for all of the men who want it back. I see this very much as a mgtow issue - being able to make a decision like this for yourself. Self-determination is such a big part of what we believe in, so I really would encourage people to donate and help spread the word.

They're currently a non-for-profit and rely on them to operate - but they've made so much progress so far and are on track to begin human clinical trials by 2019!

Yeah actually you might want to start following them again they've had quite a bit going on. They've had successful experiments with animal foreskins and are moving on to human tissue trials now. They also are working on transitioning over to a for-profit-model which will allow them to get more funding, and for this they have the help of legal counsel who is also an intactivist and doing the work pro-bono. Well their clinical trials are scheduled for 2019, so it's only 3 years away which is honestly pretty exciting! And the science behind it is solid too. A lot of it is already out there it just needs to be used for this purpose. That's exactly what I've been thinking about recently. We need to continue to be very vocal with intactivism - make sure people don't have it done to their babies with the idea that in can be fixed later, emphasize the consequences of circumcision. I of course support Foregen so it can help people like us as well. I think it will get people talking about the topic more when they see how many men end up getting it done.
