Make peace with things. As tough as that sounds ik . Make peace with it. Write out things. Make a plan. Make out your top priorities. Level set expectations. And then execute those things. They may or may not look ideal but ..do them for you.

Nothing weird imo. Not sure what you are talking about but ahhh okay mate. To each their own. I had a blast when I first separated from my ex! I enjoyed the women, the company, the experiences, and all that came with it but not the little drama. But hey everyone different.

You trying to keep a house you can't/couldn't afford by yourself was a mistake. Do u have family/friends

What are you looking for at this stage and age mate? My .2 Adjust to the market. I'm not saying settle but you can date until the one comes along. I did. I casually dated some that weren't up to my standards. Until I found someone who matched what I was looking for. Not everyone you meet is supposed to be the 1 or gf/wife material. Have fun until you meet your person.

I didn't wait long to be intimate. The pain of divorce was hard enough. I wasn't going to deny myself the pleasure of not having some casual fun when it came my way. Heck, she was out there doing it already before we even separated.

<No kids. Got my own house and good job. Mate, what are you terrified of again? You weren't married long enough for the ink to be dry on the marriage license! get back out there and live your life.
/r/Divorce_Men13/02/26 03:17 PM
2

Exactly! And to OP, then What? Its childish-simpish behavior! She's gonna laugh at you! She's not gonna take you back! As a matter of fact, she'll probably look at you with more disdain!
/r/Divorce_Men13/02/26 01:12 AM

So you married a person you don't love, nor are you attracted to? Ultimately it's your life and choice but sounds like you've wasted some time already.

Dude, sry, but all I got is clichés bc it worked for me. Now ofc every guy is different. I dealt with my divorce in my late 20's vs you having to deal with it now in your 40's. But literally work, gym, travel, eating clean, casual dating, reinventing oneself, changing your mindset, taking up new skills/trades, that is the tried and true way to get over it, mate. Else you'll be sulking til your withered away while she's living life happily ever after!
/r/Divorce_Men10/02/26 07:20 PM

Dude! She DV'd/assaulted you, and you stood by her side, and tried to help navigate things back to the way they once were when you were the victim! Cmon mate! That sounds wild and desperate imo. The marriage was already over then. You were just holding out hope for some reason, and to some degree, you still sound like you are now. You need to come to terms with this and know it's over. Start seeking legal consultation and protect yourself. From my experience, when physical assault takes place, i…

Wait....so she wants to divorce bc you had other women when you all weren't exclusive at the time you were seeing each other? Thats BS mate! To me, I think she's tired of you now and feels like she doesn't need you anymore. She now has the kids, career, money, and probably someone else who can meet her sexual needs. I'm just saying, dude. I'ma vet too, so I've been there before and know the signs!
/r/Divorce_Men09/02/26 09:05 PM

Dude...this is your livelihood at stake! You have no time to mess around or to play! Sounds like she already has lawyers! You should have lawyers already. Her being at home for the last 6 years not working.......kinda is tough in the fact that yes it's gonna be more of a financial load on you no matter how you look at it. How old are your children?
/r/Divorce_Men09/02/26 08:26 PM

It's a lot of word salad to manipulate/emasculate you, my dude. Dont let it happen.

What do you truly want to do? Of course, it's uncomfortable making life-changing decisions like this. But then ask yourself these questions: Should I go back? What changes, if any, are we gonna make? Or am I okay living out the rest of my life with this person I care for, but I'm just really going through the emotions with? Is it even worth it? Or should I just pick up the pieces and say goodbye, the relationship has run its course... It's now time to move on. Only you can make this decision OP,…
/r/Divorce_Men01/02/26 10:48 PM
1

Exactly! I found this out as well! My ex was with two (2) other ppl and a side piece all at the same time, while she was married to me. No wonder she never stayed home those last couple of months we lived "together"
/r/Divorce_Men31/01/26 10:48 PM
2

What does move on mean? A Trial separation? Divorce? Does she need some temporary space from explicitly? Also mate... don't ever put anything past a woman! You didn't see her asking/telling you that she wants to move on and that you're suffocating. So it's not far fetch to think that there could be someone else 🤷🏿.

Dude you're not a door mat. You're a man. Be a man and stand up for yourself. And just asking why is it taking all day to find a plumber? Are they so few in your area?

What I learned on the path is...Don't, and I mean don't, engage in ALL the mental and verbal attacks that she will throw at you. She is trying to get a reaction. It's okay to ignore her, and it's okay to block her (if need be) for a few days. Be direct, don't beat around the bush, and if it gets to a point where you can't speak directly to her, then speak to her through an attorney. Good luck.
/r/Divorce_Men29/01/26 12:30 AM
1

She is full of horse sh*t! Don't let her gaslight you, dude!
/r/Divorce_Men21/01/26 10:06 PM
2

What are the ages of the children? How many years married? Does she work? And what are the sole reasons for the impending divorce?
/r/Divorce_Men18/01/26 10:04 PM
1

in what context was this said?
/r/Divorce_Men16/01/26 12:00 AM
13

Lemme say this, she is absolutely diabolical! Without remorse or sympathy! The marriage was over long before she told you, mate! While you were out busting your ass working, she was out lying, bending over, and getting screwed, hence she has no remorse doing this to you! Sad that she may try and turn the child against you as well.
/r/Divorce_Men15/01/26 08:12 PM
1

So she wants the divorce. And makes 2x as much as you do. I assume you really dont want the divorce and thus don't want alimony from her? But mate, you can't have it both ways. It doesn't look like you can afford the house on your own, so either you two work on living amicably until the children are out of the house and she keeps up her end of the bargain (which is unlikely), or you get a better job or a 2nd job.
/r/Divorce_Men14/01/26 10:37 PM
2

I don't know what to say. But be strong, mate! Glad you came out of this relatively unscathed.
/r/Divorce_Men12/01/26 05:18 PM

A test....my gosh man you're still better off. Let this person go and play silly childish games somewhere else.
/r/Divorce_Men09/01/26 12:02 PM

She's right in one thing.... don't expect her or any woman to be a therapist. They'll use your most vulnerable moments against you. That's why most men keep their emotions bottled up.

What are you fighting for when she's seemingly fighting against you and the marriage? Sounds like she's out to destroy and tear down all your good that you've built up. ... I suggest you take a deep breath, and remember that you are a man and not a door mat! If she doesn't respect you then lawyer up and seek a separation/divorce. Life's too short to live walking on eggshells and in misery.
/r/Divorce_Men08/12/25 08:39 PM
4

Dam mate...she got you, hooked, lined, and sinker! Ngl, the lesson should have been learned in the 1st marriage. You can try talking to her, to see where her head is at. If she blows you off like your feelings don't matter, then buckle up, mate, bc it's gonna be a bumpy ride, should you decide to stay or divorce! Have a plan in place either way! Best of luck. Another question: Do you all share all financial accounts?
/r/Divorce_Men06/12/25 11:06 PM

So you don't have a cs agreement with the courts in place currently? And custody agreements either? Were they all made outside the court system? And if so, you are well within your rights to hold the line until you go back to court, document everything that's going on, and your attempts to make contact with your daughter.

When the attraction fades, so does the love and everything else if there's no change. Imho I believe the majority of women are attracted to masculinity. And when that's not shown (I've had several past gf's tell me this) it's a major turn off.

Is she Bipolar? Just asking mate? Sounds like she doesn't know what she really wants. And also my.2. Ask her once more and for her to make it plain..."DO You Want This relationship? And If so What steps Are you going to take to ensure we both work together towards the same goal(s)." If she doesn't give you answer then Yes, get yaself ready for a separation/divorce!

Mate I'm sending you virtual prayers and strength! You're gonna need all the support from people! Remember this person is no longer the one you knew! That person is gone. This person now is in survival mode and isn't thinking clearly. Your aim here, once you speak with an attorney is to protect yourself and the kids! Period.
/r/Divorce_Men08/09/25 11:39 PM

It would absolutely be considered child abduction if op were to do something like that😩
/r/Divorce_Men08/09/25 11:36 PM

Dude, on the flip side of all this sulking over a cheating, lying ex! You now have a wonderful girl (your words) whom you are dating. She accepts you and your two kids! Dude, at least you're not alone atm! So stop worrying about the ex, and focus on the future, mate! It'll stop once you change your mindset/focus
/r/Divorce_Men08/09/25 01:02 AM

Hurry up and contact an attorney! Document and even start recording hostile narc events/encounters with her! She sounds awful!
/r/Divorce_Men07/09/25 04:32 AM
6

Yup. I mean the longer you stay in this relationship where you feel no attraction to your wife, you'll probably end up cheating eventually and yes (it happens we are human) or asking for an open marriage of some sort.
/r/Divorce_Men06/09/25 05:54 PM
5

So you knew she was like this before you married and still married. 😩 Welp.... lucky you don't have any kids now should you decide to separate.

After my separation/divorce, I went on a 2.5 years of casual/in & out fun. I was trying to heal along the way.
/r/Divorce_Men05/09/25 01:34 AM

What are the coparenting arrangements?
/r/Divorce_Men04/09/25 02:15 AM

Mate first off, change your mindset, change frame, get in the gym, pick up new hobbies/trades/avenues to generate income. And stop worrying about her and a partner. Once you've totally reframed the women will come to you.
/r/Divorce_Men03/09/25 08:45 PM

Congratulations mate! There are still some good ones! I too can attest to this!
/r/Divorce_Men01/09/25 05:24 PM

It's still early mate. But trust this here, the woman you marry is never the woman you divorce. Find an attorney and weigh your options from there.
/r/Divorce_Men01/09/25 04:30 PM
7

So you halted your career, so she can have one. Then in turn, she cheated is that correct? Are you divorcing? Or are you still in the early phases of deciding?
/r/Divorce_Men31/08/25 08:55 PM

I wonder about the number of simps(falling for this) & in ops dm willing to take her and the three kids on.

The woman you married is never the woman you divorce. What you see now is her true nasty nature. Sadly...you may have to lose this battle to win in the end. Ik that sounds wild but, women love drama and to fight, we for the most part don't. Your kids will eventually know the truth. Take one last hard swing for a 50/50 chance. If it doesn't go your way, at least you can tell yourself and the kids when they get older that you gave it all you had for them, but the courts and their petty mother stoo…

/r/Divorce_Men23/07/25 09:57 PM

Exactly! She's trying to manipulate him into thinking that bs she spit out... bc she doesn't have anyone! Her relationships have failed...she leftovers and cooked! She knows this...hence thats why she's trying to play with Op's emotions.
/r/Divorce_Men22/07/25 09:28 PM
7

THIS!! Like they ALL want the same 666 man! Like he's gonna fall out the sky and rescue them. Straight delusional! And the men who are high earners/value know they can have any number of women. Hence they aren't gonna be bound by one! +It's rare that a high earner signs up/marries into another mans family/kids. It's foolishness!.
/r/Divorce_Men20/07/25 01:28 PM

A very hard lesson I learned with my divorce: Trying to do the "right things" with the wrong person will cost you ALOT! Like a lot of us here, you/we ignored the bright red flags in the beginning of the relationship and pushed through only to stall the inevitable.....breakup. I like you am a military vet so alot of values was instilled in me. My divorce tested all of those and I dropped some bc i felt myself going insane. I also like you dealt with what I thought was my bio child, but found out …

This sucks. So in essence, she wanted you to be an asshole / bad boy who mistreated her, then she could love you back. Unbelievable. She left to find herself I don't think so. I think she left you for bad boy Chad. Bc super nice guys finish last. A hard lesson that most of us here had to learn.

I could be wrong here, but dude c'mon...you sound like a hopeless romantic. You don't go backwards. If the weather x is giving you clues...you ignore them until she blatantly does something. If at anything you could just have a casual thing with her. As far as your girlfriend of 2 years, is this her only infraction? If so, let it go. Stop being sensitive, nobody's perfect . life's too short my guy.

Dam...Another savage is created by the system and manipulative conniving ex wives No advice really. I hate it for you mate. I contemplated just disappearing several times while going through my divorce.
/r/Divorce_Men12/07/25 04:36 PM

Dam. Or You could just stay in this dead relationship(if you can stomach it) ..but only so you wont be financially destitute....start another life outside of the marriage. Ask her for an open marriage...if she says no...so be you still go on and do it. The financial ruin you'd take just based on the numbers you posted would be too great for most men to deal with. Some would just rather disappear than to just give up that kind of $$$ for life.
/r/Divorce_Men11/07/25 11:17 PM

And this is how savages are created! I feel for you, dude! It sucks Ass! There are other options, but none of them are ideal sadly:(

My ex was a "Christian" that cheated her ass off. So much so, she tried to convince me that the last two(2) kids she conceived were my bio kids. Ha!! DNA testing proved otherwise! So, yep, I hear you, man! I let that Christian go a long time ago. I'm so much better now!

I gotta say here, most of us get divorce bc of crappy women and mistreatment. It doesn't sound like you have either going on. If you have a "good woman," then you should lean into your role as the husband, man, & leader and work on (in my opinion) the fixable issues you laid out. Divorce sucks but if the marriage is fixable within reason then work on things.

Your post is mostly spot on. This will sound nit-picky but if and when you find a woman to your liking...the "partnership" term is a no-no imo. Why I say that is bc men and women aren't equals. Physically, emotionally, and mentally we just aren't. I make it known to any woman I meet. My financial access doesn't mean we are partners. Even if we become something more, she could never be my partner. She'd be my woman, my gf or wife. But that partner stuff assumes alot. Case in point...my brother m4…
/r/Divorce_Men04/07/25 08:07 PM

Dude....I gotta ask here: So you married an older woman, had kids with her, and btw you don't work outside the home, & bc it appears that there's some mismanagement of funds on her end, you're questioning things? & want to divorce? And why now? Is it bc of this? Or something else. Do you all share accounts? Are you all's relationship solid; i.e. does she still talks to you, be intimate, and respects you?
/r/Divorce_Men02/07/25 09:13 PM

Mate.....SNAP out of this!!! You've allowed her to paint you into something you're not! It's NOTHING wrong with finding a woman attractive! And there's certainly nothing wrong with having sex with one! You're a free man! She's (your ex) has done a hellva of a (manipulative) job in making you feel bad for what is a part of your natural DNA.
/r/Divorce_Men30/06/25 09:41 PM

So I read this as your wife still wants to give the marriage a shot, even after everything has happened. And your AP even after all your lies wants to be with you. Question...and this is a looong shot...are you/they willing to go into a poly relationship? Stranger things have happened in life. It doesn't sound like you want to totally give up on either women.

The part of "we've never had sex" stuck out like a sore thumb. no judgement but why did you marry into a deadbedroom? Surely you must have known this wasn't gonna work. And the fact that she's a serial cheater speaks volumes mate! She has 0 respect for you or the relationship!

My change didn't start until I really decided "no eff-in more, or excuses" 🤷🏾‍♂️ (I lost over 60lbs) Simple as that, if you want change you have to make up in your mind that no matter what you're going to change. No pill, no shot, nor quick medical procedure is gonna do it for you. ..... You are gonna have to do it for YOU! For starters, establish good healthy habits, and be consistent. You'll be amazed at yourself in a month or so time.

Nothing wrong in seeking legal consultation now to see where/how things will work out for you. Some initial consultations are inexpensive and or free with the county/city you reside in. Not sure what route you're planning on going.. contested or uncontested(cheapest) divorce.
/r/Divorce_Men10/06/25 08:13 PM

IF you're considering divorce...plan ahead. On paper it doesn't look like you can financially afford a contested divorce. A uncontested yes, as it's much cheaper and you all would have to be in agreement with everything.

We need more details, mate. What is the reason for the divorce? Are you currently separated? Why isn't she working? Or hasn't been working? How long have you been married? The woman you marry is never the woman you divorce. I guarantee you that version of her is who she is and that you only met/knew her representative. Shes damaged mate! Ain't no fixing her Glad you have custody of your kid! Stay in his life..she sounds toxic.
/r/Divorce_Men25/02/25 07:20 PM

Lemme guess this single mother played the victim. You thought you were saving her and her kids. You married her for love. She I'm sure had other diabolical plans. I'm sure you're on the hook for child support and perhaps alimony depending on how long you were married. Question does she work? If not then that tells you everything you need to know about her and her angle/end goal.

Delayed anger yes I've been there. My ex had three (3) different baby daddies (including me) all while married to me. I never thought about ending my life over it though. To me that's letting them win! And I was NOT gonna let that happen! I learned, grew, and am so much more successful than her. Leaving her and letting her flail and fail away at life was great! I wish my heart was more harden with certain things along the way...but we did have 1 child who is an adult now, so that's that.

It sounds like you're right at that point in life where you've grown up and matured to the point where you realize that maybe you've outgrown her. It happens, mate! I married young and am now divorced, but I divorced for different reasons. Now, at the crossroads, you have a choice to make...i.e., M.C., therapy (which is a joke at times), or maybe a trial separation. Look divorce is a big deal. And you must know for sure if it's what you genuinely want.

Ok cool no prob. Her Mom is super laxed with rules. Welp, she started smoking weed, hanging out, and doing whatever she wanted and here now she's 21, pregnant with no car, and barely anything else. I flat out told her I'm NOT raising her baby. I'll help out in other ways if/when I can but I can't raise no baby as…

This A part of me thinks she's doing op like this on purpose. She sees that he's vulnerable, she sees that he's in a state of turmoil. But yet I'm sure she still insists on coming over to see not only the dogs, but him. Seeing him in pain probably gives her strength. If it was all about seeing the dogs then there's other options on what she/they can do to only see the dogs imo. 🤷🏾‍♂️

It happens man. I went through a hookup phase right when I was separated. I was having sex plenty but at that time still felt empty. With time, therapy and patience/grace with yourself it'll all get better.

Bravo! Custody of the kids. Now you had a moment today. Dust yourself off. Don't let it happen again else you'll find yourself sucked right back in. She's not the person you married 11 yrs ago mate. It's over, move on. There's plenty other woman out there.

Sending you virtual strength mate. This disgusting allegation that are being levied on you is sick! I say this with all do respect, the woman that you once knew is gone! Don't look at her as anything other than a soulless person. She will coach the kids against you. Document, record, and document some more. The gloves are certainly off. On another note. I absolutely hate when a good guy comes along, marries a lady, takes in her kid(s)as his own. She's getting all the benefits of the relationship…

Dude listen here, you got the rebound chick pregnant?(I recently posted about rebounds)Dude that's a no no. I gave myself 3yrs post divorce/separation to get into anything serious. Rebounds hardly ever work out. She's gonna make your life hell! She sounds controlling and over the top. Sure you moved out, but that's not the end of your dealings with her. Then there's the slight age gap. (9yrs) It is what it is now, but my guy you're gonna need some therapy/counseling soon bc your're recently divo…

Why must the boys stay with her? She seems unstable. You should seek full physical custody. It's not always a given that the kids stay with the mom.
/r/Divorce_Men14/07/24 03:43 PM
2

Not advising you to stay and live in unhappiness but is there any way you could perhaps plan a solid exit strategy? Check all the boxes and stomach a few more years with her until the child gets older? If not the financial responsibility appears to be alot on you. She's a sahm, kid is 11. If the stbxw can get a job that'll be helpful.

/r/Divorce_Men26/06/24 01:18 AM

Dam mate. She brings no income and y'all haven't had no sex in over a year! I would have filed long ago. Make sure the terms of the divorce lean in your favor. How old are the kids?

Dude what are you doing! What are you doing! Have some self respect and love for yourself and stop with this weak minded mindset. She's only married to you on paper but belongs to the streets!. She's the cheater and you the one going to therapy to work on yourself? Wth!! Make that make sense. She knows exactly what she's doing here. Playing you for a fool is her game. She sounds like a serial cheater. You should get a DNA test done on the kids to make sure they are your bio kids.

/r/Divorce_Men05/05/24 03:46 AM

Very unique setup you have there mate. Ngl, I couldn't do it, but all situations aren't alike. I suggest you make sure you protect yourself(feelings, finances, over all well being) just in case things blow up. Cohabitation after divorce can be dicey if boundaries aren't set.

She's testing you, trying to see how far she can go.She knows Her market value at this point probably is in the low percentile thus nobody will truly love her and accept the kids but you at the end of the day. But you hold firm and don't engage/entertain her. She can send all the smiley pics selfie pics, heck she can send them a private p**** pics who cares! She's spiraling and in-sane atm. Don't let it get to you. You carry on. If she de-rails into other topics that aren't on the table, then you don't engage her. She's looking to get you riled up and outta sorts. You hold strong and yes you can walkaway/hang up the phone. No need to let her get to you. Nothing wrong with being an asshole during this time mate.

When I moved out years ago after I found out she was still sleeping around I spent the first few weeks literally at the office. The office back then had a sleeping lounge, TV, bathroom and showers. I didn't need anything else. I was in survival mode. Then once my family got wind of the separation I reluctantly stayed in my sister's basement (which was another hell) for 6 months until I found a livable apartment. Totally can relate. I had a 2.5 year post separation/divorce phase of doing whatever/whenever I felt like. It was legendary! I got worn out and eventually decided it was time to start being serious again in life...so I grew up

In the end the so called friend and fly by night cousin will all disappoint and leave her high and dry. I've seen this too many times. They'll get tired of her sh*t and everything else she tries to dump on them. And she'll have no one to turn to but you... But you hold the line. Don't fold. She'll try to use the kids against you too. Document all interactions and record if you must. Absolutely don't…

On another subreddit op, said his wife was giving him all these excuses for why she didn't want to have sex any more. Op, also said he did everything she asked of him for a while and still she'd make up these wild ass excuses and keep moving the goal post in regards to sex . . . She's freaking out bc she never thought you'd actually do this. Don't let her knock you off your game here. Serve her the papers, make sure you have proof they've been served and you carry on. You must keep everything strictly about next steps in the divorce proceedings. She wasn't busy when she wanted a separation, nor was she so busy when she cheated, so her response to this is bogus.

Not to diminish her role here, but it doesn't appear that she is has financially able to handle the bills and such by herself. Sounds like she's been a sahp but now has a PT gig. She can't evict you, unless she tries to makeup a DVO against you. Don't move, don't sign nothing or verbalize anything remotely that gonna come back and nail you.
/r/Divorce_Men12/10/23 10:49 PM

Id frame it like: " Hey kids the reason why mom and I are divorcing is bc mom has decided she rather be with someone else other than me, so I'm divorcing her to allow her to do what she wants, bc dad doesn't play 2nd fiddle to anyone. But our relationship will still be there, strong, and I'll be here when you need me. To the older ones, (depending on the state/county) you can choose to stay with me." Love dad.

If things have been finalized then what grounds is she trying to get you back to court for? Also you should absolutely stall here. Don't answer or do anything unless you have to! The thing here is to know the law and your rights, don't leave everything up to these lawyers. Fwiw, I had an uncontested divorce and it cost me under 1k . That was 15 yrs ago. I read and did lots of research and sought out legal counsel from the courts as much as I could. But I totally understand everybody's situation …

With over 100k in attorney fees spent, and you still get screwed royally...that's just deflating. Take some time away mate. This stings, and hurts like no other. Surround yourself with positive people and energy. If you need to disappear for a while..do so for your own mental health. Legal outcomes like this can really mess with a person! But mate...you will get through it. If you gotta claw, scrape, and limp your way through, keep pushing and moving forward.
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 02:37 AM

Petition the courts for 50/50 and hope you're not totally destitute by the end of this. Your kids are so young and she was a sahp. Does she have any job skills? Advance education?

Damn op. Reading this has me 🤢! There were sooo many ignored red flags here. I don't wanna beat you over the head about them, as you already know you messed up choosing this demon. No advice really but you're gonna need a good lawyer, a therapist and lots up support to endure this.

Posting this on a divorce sub, ofc the overwhelming theme here is to leave. But I don't think you're no where near ready to leave mentally emotionally and yes physically. The child is 1yrs old, you say you both hadn't worn rings in two years, your fighting from sun up to sun down, and you don't love her like that or trust her genuinely. Yet, she just had your kid, & she's a sahp. If she was that bad two years ago, you should've left before you all conceived. See my point?? I think you could have…

Hey listen mate stop beating yourself over this. I've seen/heard worse on here. You're not a bad dad or husband. Part of me believe you tell her lies about vaping is bc it's easier to say what she wants to hear, than you telling the truth and truly being truthful with her. Signal boosting this! She sounds extreme. Op still thinks she's his loving wife that cares about his feels.... wrong! She doesn't GAF. She called the cops erroneously on him, and if that wasn't enough she's moving far away from him and about to have a baby. Who does that?? Certainly not a loving wife. If you're certain divorce is eminent then consider an uncontested divorce. (I did this and it was cheap) But ofc if you all can't agree on division of assets and such then you'll need to lawyer up. Does the wife work? How many kids?

Totally understand dude. Everyone's different. I however wanted to know the truth. You should want to know it as well if there's a sliver of doubt.

Yea, when I divorced I kinda winged it as well. I raised my voice when I felt so, I ignored, stood my ground and when I started dating again omg, you'd thought it was the end of the world. Mind you she had multiple affairs and conceived 2 kids that weren't mine while we were still very much legally married. I set boundaries and she kicked, hollered and screamed. I didn't care, bc one I was in a whole other state, two we were already divorced and her stronghold on me emotionally was all but gone,…

My man, at the time when I was going through a divorce my ex would make sly comments as well about the kids and such. I kinda ignored them at 1st and then something said just go find out the truth. So I took the 2yr old at the time to ANYLABSTESTING, when the ex dropped them off. A few days later I got the news that I kinda already knew...and that was the kid wasn't my bio kid. Ofc I told the ex, and she tried to lie, but when the facts and evidence is there, it's quite difficult to keep the lie…

Her wanting you back after she cheated with a married verbally abusive dude, who's daughter she now watches....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Sry not sry! You go on and live your life dude. Don't let this creature back into your life to play you again. She's trying to play you now bc of your good heart and bc you still care. DON'T FALL FOR THE BS. Tell her she's had the chances and blew it. She choose her life. Hope she enjoys every bit of it.

The living together while going through a divorce/divorced is hell. Because feelings don't just turn off like a faucet. You should seriously think about moving out or something. Idk how some do it.

This vampire in the disguise of a wife has used and sucked you dry. She never loved you. She only wanted want she wanted..you were a tool in her little game. It hurts dude, it sucks. Don't engage with her or try to show any emotions around her. She will certainly play on them. Go away for a few days, get your thoughts together. Seek legal consultation immediately. This is were you need to be strong! And yes dude she more than likely has been cheating on you. Trust nothing of what she says!
/r/Divorce_Men08/07/23 01:36 PM

I've always been against living together while going through separation/divorce...it's literally hell. Also since you are still living together don't engage her in her stupid petty B.S. it adds even more strain and stress on you. Ignore her for your own peace.

Document/video record. Call the proper authorities and mental health folks. But you should not be held hostage in a situation like this. It's draining, debilitating and unhealthy. All you can do for her is hope for the best. Ain't no saving her.

In my case the red flags were there before I married the harlot. But young, silly, so in luv me went forward anyways. But after the 1st kid, I thought things would change...naw I was wrong. Shit got worse. I left when my 1st kid was 4yrs old, the second kid was 2.5 yr old (who I thought at the time was my bio kid but nope) and she was pregnant with another child at that time. All truth.

Honestly if you are certain about leaving you should plan accordingly. To avoid cs you could wait til the kids graduate hs. Seek out a lawyer for consultation and weigh your options tho. Should you say eff it and stay in this facade of the marriage, without any change from her, then you are risking your mental health, happiness, and more frivolous spending from the wife in the long term.

My guy, you've already pretty much cut her off. You moved to another city and got your sh*t together! Bravo. You're still young, no need to go back to the harlot.. And for the luv of God don't fall for her trap of wanting to get back together and have kids. Dude it's a classic trap! You're almost at the finish line. Lawyer up, and divorce this person. When I left my pos ex wife back some years ago I was making around the same. I honestly don't know how I made it...but I did. There was some struggles(its just apart of the process) but I had to leave for my mental health. You start by seeking low/to no cost legal consultation maybe from the city court. I had a uncontested divorce. Expected is the mental anguish which was brutal. But in the end, the means justified it. Stay strong

It's a tricky sticky slop here. Common sense would lead me to believe no, bc the house isn't in your name it's in your disabled parents name that you have look after (assuming) But then the courts, lawyers and judges seem to lose all common sense depending on the state, divorce proceedings and when it comes to the women who claim they are in distressed bc of the divorce. Are kids involved?

I lived 4.5hrs away from my kids. To note, I didn't move away, she did.. In the early stages of separation/divorce I'd drive every other weekend to see them. And had them for all major holidays and summers. I did this for 3yrs. Then I slowed down to once a month making that drive bc it was getting to be too much mentally, physically and financially. Once they got older things changed again. I still saw them but mainly on major holidays, all summer and lots of FaceTime..lol.

Got a buddy who left his wife after 20+yrs of marriage and putting up with her sh*t. He moved several states away from her. Their 3 grown children stopped talking to him after he left. Fast forward to now...Currently he's fighting for his life after having a stroke. They all are feeling like sh*t for not talking to their dad for over a year.

Op...hold my beer: My POS ex got pregnant twice by other guys and claimed both girl and boy was biologically mine! I got a DNA test done on the girl at 2yrs old and it confirmed everything. The ex was already pregnant with the boy, but we were separated and absolutely NOT fu*kin. I exposed her lies and manipulation to her family. They didn't want to believe it at 1st, but it's hard to say otherwise especially when I showed them the test. Look op, your wife lied, cheated, and has been manipulatin…

Ofc lawyer up. On the surface you may not come out with a big lose as some. She makes more than you and has more $$ on hand, w no kids. Things maynot be as bad as they could be.

I may get down voted but alot of us understand where you are coming from. She f**ked you over, you're upset, angry, and ultimately you want her to pay. We all would like to see these monsters pay and receive their just do. I'm not gonna judge you for your efforts here. In the end tho, your mental health, and healing from the trama is of most importance.

Now, all I see is the grinding monotony of remaining with a woman who doesn't excite me in any way, is rude, judgmental, and downright mean at times. You've spent 30yrs doing this...how much more are you willing give up? Will you be truly happy continuing on in the relationship?
/r/Divorce_Men26/07/22 03:18 AM

Dude I doubt you'll get your money back. It'll be a long court battle and then you'll have to have receipts of everything.

Dude this is gonna be some tough luv here but its gotta be said... WTH are you Doing? No, no, no, no!! It's a big mistake. Take time to heal man. Go work on yourself, read, gym, pick up a hobby, get out the house and go out some where, but absolutely hell naw you don't go crawling back to an ex you just ex'd! Don't go backwards, you giving her even more power. I understand you're lonely but don't be desperate. Push through this lonely phase op! Be strong man.

Right. And in op's own words... My current girlfriend earns even less than my ex, and while income is not important to me (wasn't important in the first marriage, but was a weapon used against me in the divorce), I am now suffering from PTSD with the thought of the potential impacts if I get remarried and later find myself in divorce court.

I hear you, especially in your last few lines but dude when your mindset and work life goals are on another level and you're with or trying to be with a woman who isn't there in mindset or work, then honestly from my perspective and experience it's not a good match and its not gonna work out in your favor.
/r/Divorce_Men22/07/22 11:08 PM
11

Just my two cents and no disrespect, but why don't you level up on the woman if you wish to marry again. Meaning she should be a high earner /want the same things as you. Why get married and have a repeat (different woman) but who is a low earner as the 1st wife. The definition of insanity is doing the same things expecting different results. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Dam,.so she's been emotionally cheating the entire marriage. That sucks man. The early stages of this sh*t sucks ass! Stay strong, keep busy, listen to music, workout, and try some therapy. Ofc lawyer up man! Sending you positive vibes bro.

She's emotionally unhinged, abusive, and a cheater. any good lawyer and judge would see things in your favor. I'd go for full custody! She can get supervised visitation. She may end up paying you cs. Don't let up op. Stay strong.

I do think even though deep down this sucks..you should convince her to go on with her new boo. And..and by someway you convince her that the kids will stay with you. (That last sentence maybe hard) but here is where you can start to establish 50/50, 60/40, or 70/30 split. By saying you just don't want to uproot the kids at this moment... Play the long game op. Let her believe she is winning all the while you're getting everything setup in your favor. Document, record, be cool..as hard as that m…

So the 11yr old is your step child? Also did you get 50/50 split? Getting away with no alimony is a win tho. I just look sideways at the half of 401k. Outside of the 401k, do u have other retirement accounts?
/r/Divorce_Men21/07/22 04:00 AM
3

Most of us thought we wouldn't be divorce but here most of us are. For sure you go for 50/50 split. Hire a good lawyer. Don't give into her insane demands. Limit interaction with her. Keep it all about the kids and proceedings. Don't, and I repeat don't have sex with her. It's ova!

When she "asked" for this divorce...what changes have you made? And if you made changes were there any that she's been harping to you about? The reason why I ask is bc I think she asked for a divorce is to get you in line, lock in step to the beat of her drum, and possibly explore other options out there.

My ex had me believe for 2.5 yrs that her middle child at the time was my bio child. My family kept telling me, the child looks nothing like us. So once we separated and started going thru the divorce I said f*c it and spent several hundred dollars on a DNA test and let me tell you...it was hurtful and a relief at the same time. I tried the courageous stuff by saying "no matter the outcome I'll be there"...but then my heart hardened and I said to myself "why should I let this garden tool of a wo…

My take is this all bets and verbal agreements are off once you are separated. Sry dude. Someone is gonna feel the need to get their "itch" scratched. It is what it is. 🤷🏾‍♂️I've experienced this exact same thing dude. And honestly the courts don't care.

Good 4 u dude. I dated alot after my divorce. I told myself I was not gonna be exclusive to anyone, and just have fun until I grew up 😅

I said this today in another post. These stay at home soon to be ex wives and their self entitled b.s. are the worst and make my skin crawl. Prepare for the absolute worse from her. She is no longer the loving person you knew..its about to get real op. You have to protect your assets. She thinks she can milk you for everything and ruin you. Document everything, record her, and definitely speak with your attorneys. Don't let her manipulate you and play these mind games. File and leave her.
/r/Divorce_Men10/07/22 01:02 AM
1

Stay at home spouses that cheat are the worse imo. Her true true colors and entitlement stuff will come out during the Divorce. Prepare yourself op. It's gonna get ugly.
/r/Divorce_Men09/07/22 07:33 PM

Or is it a pipe dream and I should give up hope? Yes and Yes! Let it go op. Wake up and let it go! Trust me.
/r/Divorce_Men09/07/22 06:51 PM
3

This is a head scratcher as they are nearly adults in a few weeks. You could just bite this until they can turn 18. Or you could try to talk some logic into the ex...but from the looks of it, there's probably no compromising w her. And at this point in time going to court maybe pointless. 🤷🏾‍♂️
/r/Divorce_Men09/07/22 05:02 AM

This! Op was given solid advice on his last 2 post about this. I think he is in a panic state of mind and hence why he is asking these questions here and not looking throughly at the TRO and contacting his lawyer office immediately.
/r/Divorce_Men08/07/22 06:43 PM

I hear ya dude. Keep in mind tho in 2003 when you proposed she was probably the love of your life. Now, she's become a totally different person, where the rules have changed. Stay strong dude.

Dam bro, the person you once had so much love for has now become a thing of contention, no way around it. Her lies and manipulating ways will come back to haunt her eventually. You have to now know this is serious and you gotta play hard ball. TRO rules are different state by state. You should look into the rules of your state and how to fight it. Definitely contact your lawyer. Also this may not be the best time for your mom to be around. Would you really feel comfortable with your mom staying …

Are there any kids? She's definitely negligent as it sounds like this was a deliberate wicked act. Document, lawyer up, and have your monies put into another account that she can't get to. Her actions are spiteful and gross. Get ready for the absolute worse from her.

Her actions are effin gross! She's absolutely doing this on purpose to hurt you. But keep your cool, and document. The tables will turn in your favor at some point. This is her power play. These made up boundaries aren't in yalls divorce documents are they? If not, then you certainly don't have to abide by them.

Ngl alot of us needed to here something like this. I see my 19yr old daughter pulling away from me as we speak. I'm hopeful tho.

Going out to eat with a coworker isn't bad...unless you had bad intentions. It sounds like you thought you had a plan to make your wife jealous and turn /change her ways, but things have totally blew up. Op, you caused this with this wayward plan of yours. All the turmoil you're receiving is your fault. You can either come clean to her about your plan and see if things can potentially calm down and be sorted out civil. Or you can push forward in this chaotic mess. Lawyer up tho.
/r/Divorce_Men02/07/22 02:31 PM

I went down the DIY route and it for the most part worked out. Its not for everybody as everyone's situation is different but you'll have to figure that out for yourself.
/r/Divorce_Men01/07/22 02:56 AM

I'm seeing your replies to comments made by others and you pretty much defending/standing by the decision you've made. Not sure many would recommend it, but hey if it works for you it works. It's certainly a slippery slope I wouldn't dare put myself in tho.

/r/Divorce_Men25/06/22 02:38 PM

As you stated op, it's her prerogative. If an emergency comes up, you can call or text. No need to put undo stress or pressure on yourself wondering about her whereabouts. She's the ex now.
/r/Divorce_Men25/06/22 03:02 AM

Thanks. Same to you! Father's, matters! Idc what the ex's say, the courts, or family.
/r/Divorce_Men19/06/22 02:31 PM

Dude....we all have been there. You're no good to yourself or them if you're broke financially. Honestly as you stated, she is getting over and taking advantage that you care alot. Ik you want to keep things somewhat normal and civil with the ex but....sometimes it gotta get ugly before things get to a better place. Get your thoughts together, stand your ground and level set expectations with everything.

Dude the majority here says don't do it...but I'm assuming you probably already have. Ultimately it's your decision. I'd be lying if I said I didn't do it a few times while going through divorce. It wasn't the best decision. But when I did it, I treated her like she wanted to be treated....a hoe. She didn't get hubby dic no more, I straight treated her like a street walker and grudge banged her(which weirdly she liked). My mindset at that point didn't gaf about her or how she felt. She was basic…
/r/Divorce_Men14/06/22 06:24 PM
5

I was raised like that too...the only time that kind if thinking did was make me more miserable, and resentful. If I didn't get the courage to leave when I did at that time, things could've turned out soo much worse. My point is to leave before it gets to a point of breaking.
/r/Divorce_Men13/06/22 11:12 PM
6

Dude at this point how much more of the undermining, disrespect, and narc ways are you willing to put up with. And..and the audacity of her to go out of town for 4 days and have you watch her children without communicating as such as you're supposed to is something else wow! Dude she is stepping all over you! Atp YOU know ultimately what you need to do! Good luck

This. I didn't hire a attorney. We kinda agreed on things and where we didn't I just put my foot down. Ik its not the best way to go, but she felt guilty as she was the main reason as to why we divorced.

Caring for her well-being too much. She had now become the enemy but I still cared for her as she was my loving SO. That's a no no, bc she used the fact that I cared to manipulate me even more. But I woke up and started not gaf. She bucked, but what else was she gonna do at that point?

Stay strong dude. You dodged a bullet with not having any kids her. She's in affair fog and thinks this is her life now. She'll probably try at some point to come back into your life..but don't fold. My ex did the exact same thing. She cheated with a female and thought she was gay. That relationship was so dam toxic. She begged me to take her back after all was said and done, but it was too late and my heart was hardened and I told her hell no! Not a chance in hell. You're tarnished goods and I …

15 years later and I absolutely still hate the pos ex! I've moved on but her parenting style with my daughter sucks and has really hurt her imo and stunted her mental growth. At this point I ignore and don't engage her unless it's something of importance about my child.
