This is something that can be tested with material we have on Earth. Observation: HIV is transmitted through bodily fluids. Hypothesis: HIV can be transmitted from saliva to blood. Experimentation: You take HIV infected spittle, mix it with uninfected whole blood, incubate, and look for increased viral load and the destruction of T-Cells.
