Biologically women do have more value. If we were truly in hard times you would want to protect the women first so they can have offspring which men can't do. So I just see this entire this as reality asserting itself. Sure from a high minded perspective "everyone is equal" but in reality it's not so.

Sorry but this is a ridiculous proposition. It's your kid and you have a responsibility. End of story.

Thats a bit of a paraphrase of what the guy said.

I honestly don't get it. If you aren't into cleaning hire a maid. I haven't cleaned a toilet since 1998.

For men it's very simple. You can "date" all you want but don't get serious with women until you are very successful. Spend time on building up your wealth and then you can have the pick of the litter.

Yup. Hire a cleaner to come in every couple of weeks and you are golden. I literally don't remember the last time I cleaned a toilet.

This half the housework stuff is a bunch of BS anyway. The approximate amount of housework I should do is fucking zero.

You make it almost sound like a competition. Oh wait.

Sounds good on paper, but won't work for everyone, and is dependent on many variables. That's called everything in life. Nothing works for everyone and everything has a lot of dependent variables. One can literally get hit by a bus at any time. I assume "the man" is your father. No, "the man" is "the man" as in working for other people in general. Find a job. Work hard. Be really good and learn the business. Save up money. Start business. And how exactly do you go about doing that? Network with …

Problem is, starting your own business takes money. Some take more than others. I worked for the man to save up money to start my business. That path can work for people and they pay you to learn too. you'll never be able to compete with the big players to be able to pay for food and rent, never mind make a profit. Often times the big players can be your biggest source of profit. Can't compete with them? Make them your customer. Lemonade stand doesn't sound like the greatest idea though. Think o…

100%, getting a skill is good. Snow clearance was actually the first business I ever started as a kid. I charged $20 a month to keep your driveway clear.

Who cares? Working for the man sucks. Start your own company. No better time to start than yesterday. Then you can decide who you want to work with and hire. And please don't give me a bunch of excuses about how it's impossible, not everyone can do it etc. That shit bounces of me, I have way too much life experience to buy the excuses.

Most average people are just that and go with the flow. Do you want to be average? No thanks. Anytime you are the nail that sticks up someone is going to want to hammer you down. The more successful you are the more hammers will be coming for you. So it's best to ignore what other people think and do what makes you happy and successful.

BTW this also separates the men from the boyz. If you don't already have a Ferrari there are 168 hours in a week, how many of them are you working on your plan for world domination?

How is any sort of valuation going to tell you what ridiculously low or high earnings multiple people might be willing to pay for a given company? Valuing a company is extremely difficult. This is why there are standard techniques to do this and why there are specialist companies that do it. But go look around in the world and you'll see plenty of example of companies that go from being worth nothing, to literally billions of dollars in a couple of years. Oculus is an example but there are other…

/r/MensRights05/04/17 07:50 PM

Company valuations are typically done by external groups to comply with 409a regulations. It wouldn't be unusual for a company to grow in value quit a bit in a couple of years either.

That's a separate issue. If someone is so destitute and has such a small support system that they literally can't convince a lawyer to represent them then they have a bunch of other problems on top. I suppose in that case you get fucked. However, I would highly encourage people to find a way to get some representation. Even if you have to go into hock to do it.

I get that paying for the lawyer is going to suck. But it won't suck as much as what happened to this guy. Public defenders are almost universally crap. They just want to plead your case out ASAP. They work for the state, not you.

A lawyer would have mattered. A good lawyer could have used the fact that he doesn't have the money to get him released. Anyone who doesn't hire a lawyer when arrested is a total moron.

His mistake was not hiring a lawyer. I don't care what people say but you ALWAYS hire a lawyer whether you can "afford" it or not. You can't afford not to have your own.

Their loss I suppose? I think people would be a lot happier if they relaxed more and worked less. BTW raising good children can be a goal. Supporting their spouse and helping them be successful in their career by taking care of the home front is actually a useful thing.
/r/MensRights08/05/16 06:00 PM

Her view of the world is false anyway. There are plenty of stay at home moms in my peer group. Most of them keep busy with lots of interesting stuff, some work part time, some don't work at all. If you want to be a stay at home mom, then find a guy that wants the same thing. Imagine coming home to an actual well kept house with happy kids who get to spend their time with Mom. The real question is why women would want to work if they have kids and have an stay at home option. Are they being brain…

There's absolutely no benefit for a man to get married. From what I can tell this is correct. The benefits all seem to accrue on the other side. How about some actual equality?

We have a winner! Seriously, reach out for help, get it done. It's a requirement as much as food or water at this point.

I would go even further and say that getting married can negatively impact the relationship. Basically you are bringing the state into your bedroom to resolve disputes. This shifts the power in the relationship dramatically. So dramatically that it can be an incentive. Imagine you are a person that wants to lives within your means, but your spouse lacks self control. To them it could look more attractive to get control of half the money so they can burn through it, than to live properly. By gett…

That's a wild story.
/r/MensRights01/03/16 10:23 PM

Call the bar association like someone else suggested? Borrow some money from some friends? You don't have any buddies in your corner that would help you out? I mean it's really not optional. The minute you stop getting completely screwed is the minute you start asserting your legal rights with proper representation. Don't blame the messenger, don't make excuses, step up and get it done.
/r/MensRights01/03/16 09:13 PM

Easy answer is to just not get married. I wish the younger men out there understood this. Yet another friend of mine going through the ringer right now.

What do I do once I have them? I can't afford a lawyer. You can't afford not to have a lawyer. A good one at that. Figure it out!
/r/MensRights01/03/16 07:28 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
