I would agree with this. Christianity has changed radically over the centuries. Old-school Christianity was much more violent, aggressive, "alpha", "we live in a fallen world and must work our butts off to create a paradise for ourselves", "let's take back the holy land", etc. Christianity has had to adapt (and I think, worsen) itself to fit new ideas over the centuries, although it always had its flaws.
