In Harry Potter, there are characters called house elves. House elves are essentially slaves and are not allowed to wear normal clothes. If the owner of a house elf gives the elf an article of clothing it sets the elf free. In the book, Harry tricks an adult into handing his elf a book that Harry hid a sock in.

As a mod, if you’re going to remove a post, ok, your call. If you’re going to leave that post up, but lock it, you really should sticky a reason why. If for any other reason, to be able to get feedback through posts, like this post, about how the sub wants you to moderate. It doesn’t look like it’s nearly all u/ok_perception-1836 but thank you for opening the conversation. Of the posts with explanations are well moderated, so far.

Make her pay the legal fees. Your lawyer should have done this every single time. You file, you lose, you pay.

Bud. One thing. While cats are a lot less needy than dogs they are still emotional beings.

So she has guys sliding into her DMs on the regular and yet she is still giving you signals? What does this mean? Does it mean that maybe she isnt interested in those others? Do you think you can get your mind right that if she is interested in you, she isnt interested in others? Imagine the boost to your self confidence that would bring. Yep, that's right, she is with me, and I know it. Maybe you should talk through your life with her over a cocktail and maybe dinner and make sure she knows you…

My now second wife, who is fucking awesome, and I came back from our first vacation together and stopped by the Muchaels where my friend's gf/fiancee worked and asked her for help getting a fishbowl type piece of glass as my gf wanted to create a 'memory jar'. Got a call from my now ex friend the next day giving me shit because his gf came home being a bitch about vacations and memory jars and happiness. I got us right the fuck away from those assholes. Sad people spread sadness

Wait until you see what happens when the golden uterus loses in court, pays all my attorney's fees because she dragged out the divorce for 3 years and laid claim to everything and theb some, plus gave me full custody and she only has visitation.

It can only get better after you process your grief, because thats what it is, grief. Once you are settled with yourself and you "turn the corner", it will get better. Youre young, the future is impossible to see. Let go of her. Its the first step back to any happiness whatsoever.

Youre not wrong. But the gender doesnt matter. The position does. Either side can have all these feelings and emotions. You can completely reverse the gender in your comment and it will remain true. As you say, your experience is yours, uniquely.

She can only harm you for as long as you give her permission to do so. At any time you can decide you have had enough of it and stand up for yourself. She can come along or....not.

The baseline is to be supportive of you. Thats the absolute floor requirement to be in a relationship. If you dont have that you wont have respect of anything else and well yeah, whatever you do, do not have kids.

I tried, but had to stop. There are so many questions that are indicative that the author has not delt with children very often. There are so many variables such as its bed time and child is scared of something. It greatly depends on the issue. My daughter was sobbing one night thinking she had missed a school assignment and was hyperventilating at the thought. We let her come down and sit with us until the event passed and we could explain it out. On the other hand, can I get a glass of water, …

Sell it to me, sell me marriage, remember I've been there and gone through a divorce so sell it to me. When you find a person that answers this without having to say this, you've satisfied this requirement.

4 is a fun age. They ask all kids of fun questions. Just have her already at the house or arrive after your son does and introduce your friend by her first name and leave it at that. Then, just keep him included in your time together and it will be natural. Best thing about kids is their ability to adapt. Most likely, will just be like, well ok, and carry on.

I think I misread this last night. My decree says ...the marriage contract heretofore entered into between Plaintiff and Defendant, from and after this date, be set aside and dissolved as if no such contract had ever been made or entered into, and P&D....in the future shall be held and considered as separate and distinct persons, altogether unconnected by any nuptial union or civil contract whatsoever. Meaning they cannot send you more interrogatories for information without having initiated a n…

Refer to your decree. Does it, like mine, say your marriage contract is nullified as though it did not happen? Think about what's going on here. They sent you, out of the blue, a list of questions. I wouldnt answer a damn thing. I dont owe my ex a bit of information to help her levee allegations against me. They're fishing. Dont bite. You want to file for a modification? You can do it without my help.

Document each breach of decorum no matter how big or small. This is important. Ive had to deal with stuff like this and didn't document. When it came time to put a story together details got left out. Its important to show the frequency and disruptiveness when you're trying to educate other individuals who do not know her like you do.

I successfully avoided any and all conversations around firearms. Probably due to being in a pro gun state in the south, but still, the answer to any question was I am sorry, but we do not discuss the topic outside of our immediate family. Edit: next stop for you, get a written order, even a temporary one, asap. Then, install the 'Stop Fucking Talking To Me' plan. Sunday, she sends you an email with anything FYI and any Required Response questions. Also, the next Monday - Sunday visit schedule. …

It works both ways. It's just human nature. Male or female. I grew apart from my wife. She pushed me away, also. I sat her down and told her point blank that I was increasingly less happy daily. I had divorced her emotionally far before the divorce was filed. You'll find a lot of comments on this sub from men who dont understand how this happened. "How does my wife just move on like this and just move on?" Well, it's because that other person has already chosen to move on. And once you've made t…

I keep telling my daughter she needs to pay attention to how she feels with someone while doing the most mundane things. While dating pay attention to if you like sitting and eating with.

The thing you'll find is that the younger will adjust quickly. The tweens or teens may take a bit longer. Your job is to make sure you do nothing to test or harm their allegiances. Keep your personal issues with your wife out of view/earshot. We instituted an email system for Communications. The kids are never questioned about what happens at their mom's. (Wish I could say the same about our house when they are af hers). Sunday, somewhere between 3 and 7 PM, the primary custody parent (me), send…

Listen. Here is what you are going to do. You are going to get your head straight that your head is not straight. You are too emotional to think straight. You're going to fight for your 5 year from now self. You're going to find a family member who gives a fuck a d help you think non emotionally. You're at bat. Its 0-2. Its fucked. But that's where you are. Think hard about where you need to be and do whatever it takes to get there.

The few people whom I've shared the details of my last few years with her and the divorce process always end up suggesting that I must really hate her. I did, at one point. When she didnt care about me, my feelings, and didnt care if I stepped in front of a truck, as long as the insurance premiums had been paid. But now? No, I dont hate her. I dont anything her. And once I made that concious decision, life got so much easier and then I met the love of my life.
