This aside — hasn’t Trump advocated for more policing, more strict punishments, and broader scope of judicial punishment that will inevitably incriminate more men?

How can you tell? Those are on the original post of the picture, not the replies. Those likes are not visible.

Well that doesn’t have much to do with Hayes’ tweet does it? I’m not advocating for a specific policy change, I would rather revert to the Obama policy but I recognize it’s not a perfect system. Outrage at this moment, while late, is absolutely important. Better late than never, especially as it is on the cusp of being worse.

Yes...? They’ve been fairly clear about policy changes, if anything this is the one thing the Trump administration has been consistent about. Here’s an article detailing different enforcement changes including family splits http://time.com/longform/donald-trump-immigration-policy-splitting-families/ Here’s an article specifically about policy changes that split families and also clarifies some misconceptions about the two different issues https://www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/news/post-nation/w…

Am I just fucking blind? Where is that info in the article? I’m really busy rn so I’ll get back to you with a more specific article if I can find one but it’s a reasonable conjecture to make that with increased deportations, there’s an increase in split families. https://www.npr.org/2018/01/23/579884642/trumps-ice-deportations-increase-from-obamas-figures-data-show

Lemme see the context Because there has been a significant uptick in these separations under Trump, so his response would still be valid even if this did to a lesser extent, happen under Obama. The title claims that this is the same thing as divorced men but that’s... not the case clearly

It takes some real leaps in logic to say that immigration enforcement has not changed under Trump

Well what’s we’re talking about isn’t mentioned in that article. But yes, our immigration enforcement has always been cruel and we should radically improve it.

Because while deportations rose under Obama, Trump has absolutely weaponized ICE with the intention of splitting up families. Obama’s deportation policies generally were more empathetic.

Lemme answer your question with a simple “no.”

You can’t deport American citizens. Even if they’re children.

Whatever you want to say about male suffering, the difference between suffragettes and these charities is profound. Suffragettes: A lot of strong opposition against them, were fighting for legal changes within their own country, there was an actual battle for women's rights. Charities for African Child Soldiers: Widespread acceptance and support for these charities, evidence is the KONY2012 campaign (which I personally thought was pretty stupid, but it shows support nonetheless), seeks to help A…

http://www.africareview.com/Special-Reports/A-former-girl-soldiers-tale/-/979182/1429624/-/h79gi1z/-/index.html This article discusses a woman's first hand experience. "When girls are first abducted, it is the same as for boy soldiers,” Akallo told IPS agency. “They are beaten and mistreated, they are trained to become child soldiers, given AK-47s, and forced to kill. http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/opinion/girl-soldiers-neglected-casualties-war-darfur-21545.html Although in some cases girls vol…

http://sirkeystone.wordpress.com/tag/girl-soldiers/ ratio of girl soldiers to boys is roughly 4:6. So I was indeed wrong when I said it was implied that all child soldiers were boys. In actuality, that is not the case, according to this article. There are PLENTY of "girl" soldiers, although not as many as boys. This "girl soldier" is labeled as a child soldier in the photo. The fact that you say that "male suffering doesn't matter" is completely ridiculous. Charities and organization helping chi…

Oh come on are you serious? This is ridiculous. It's fucking IMPLIED that they're boys when they're child soldiers. It's called a child soldier because that's what it IS, a child, who is a soldier. Not any grand scheme of society to put down poor, african "boy" soldiers.

this is the mentality we're up against. I agree with you, and was a little irked at this title. I don't this this is a situation that needs a confrontation, but more of a "actually, no, and here's some study that disproves it."

These listed are fatalities. If the father is not at home as much as the mother, he has less chance to kill the child, or accidentally murder the child. I don't think the above examples are comparable. The first two examples are inanimate objects, so they do not irritate the holder, as what might push a mentally incapacitated, over-worked mother over the edge, whereas the father might not be home enough to experience this (assuming that more mothers stay home with the children more than fathers,…

Although I have no source to confirm this, I think that this may be partially because the mothers are around the children more. Perhaps it would be 50/50 otherwise. We need more stats! Surely OP will... oh.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
