I've been so busy I turned down a dinner date. This is a huge thing for me since I'm usually the type to say yes! I enjoy meeting new people but I don't have time to make time for someone unless they're important like my family and friends but dates are not 🙅‍♀️ lol it was a great feeling. Don't wanna half-ass the effort so why bother ☺

Oh wow this is eye opening. I remember going on a date with someone who insisted on calling a ride for me to the city when I said I was fine with just driving down myself but because he was very persistent on it, I gave in and guess where I ended up when the night was over??? ☺ smh never again lol I should've held my ground or just flat out declined the invitation because he disrespected my decision in the first place.

Relatable. I'm not mentally/emotionally exhausted all the time and find greater peace within when a man is not in my life.

This is goals 😩 I value my female friendships so much but a lot of them required adjustments because many are in relationships where their significant other is their best friend so it gets lonely sometimes lol

Because OLD is full of NVM like him, the ones that are seemingly good catches are still LVM. Not saying all, but a majority of them are 🤢 One time I went in for a job interview and at the end, the interviewer brought up that he saw my profile on an app. During the process, I felt he was interested in me in a non-professional way. I was around 21 at the time; he looked like he was in his late 20s or early 30s. I gtfo of there... talk about inappropriate.

It's a sad reality how common this is... I've had similar experiences with oversharing because I felt I could trust the guy(s) and it didn't work out well at all. I rather just write things out or talk about these issues with a close confidante than someone who says they're open to hear my stories but somehow use them against me knowingly or not. Less is more.

YES SIS. I definitely encountered one and it messed me up pretty badly but it was probably one of my greatest lessons. He seemed too good to be true and I should've vetted him hard. The emotional unavailability after "the chase" hurt; I was blinded by how well we seemingly connected. Tsk.

Lmao when guys pull the "I wanna see if we're sexually compatible" line 🛑🤚 it's all fun and games til they get bored and/or find someone new then say they're not ready to commit or look for anything serious after you've become emotionally attached lol you dodged that one 👏 you go girl!

Girl I feel you! There'll be times I'll catch myself reminiscing about said person and feel sad that "what was good" had ended but did I make the right decision in dropping him? YES. How do I know? I don't get that gut wrenching feeling in the pits of my stomach anymore unlike the time when I was with him. Those weren't butterflies; those were signs to cut the BS and get out. Things were seemingly good and I felt like I was on a high all the time but it was also extremely anxiety inducing and I …

They recognize it but won't do anything because 1) it's not obvious to the public eye so they can get away with it and 2) it won't benefit their egocentric selves if they do do something. Major 🙄

I've been on a high working on myself by revamping my bedroom, office space, wardrobe (soon), and overall lifestyle. I didn't realize how poorly I treated myself by living with the bare minimum to get by. I DO deserve nice things like a good pillowcase, a supportive computer chair, and other necessities that I used to view as insignificant. I can afford it so what's stopping me? I'm not sure when but something in me switched. I was tired of randomly thinking about all the LVM in my past. I was f…

Pretty similar to those who are called "whipped" for simply caring and loving their gfs/wives openly and wholeheartedly. I used to find it funny but the more I thought about it, the more I realized those doting partners are HVM. Those guys that joke about it can't be on the same level because they're incapable of doing so 🤷🏻‍♀️ Nothing wrong with wanting to spend time with someone you're devoted to.

Ugh the manipulation. If a guy tells you he's not sure what he's looking for but is treating you "right," he's just looking for the way right into your pants. Also guys that are just going with the flow or feeling the vibe lol bye 👋 no one has time for that.

This triggered me so fkn much lmao too relatable 🤦🏻‍♀️ ofc they won't admit it and just play the "what? you're crazy for thinking that" card then just look at you as if you made up some BS or whatever lol so over it, BYE

So true! I recently found out my grandpa rode his bicycle by my grandma's house every day just so she would notice him and try to talk to her despite the distance 😂 Apparently his parents didn't like this idea and wanted to set him up with other people they believed were a "better match." They told him he was wasting his time but he refused and continued to try courting my grandma until his parents gave in and set up a meeting with her parents so they could formally meet and date. Before my gran…

They really can't. They'll be like "you can tell me anything; I'm open-minded and don't judge" but do a complete 180 as soon as you share something sensitive and suddenly change because you're not the "perfect" girl they envisioned.

Definitely happened over time and when I started to react, he brushed it off and would say phrases like "I thought it was funny/it was just a joke/it was funny to me." It made me feel bad for not getting it even though I was clearly upset but I felt conflicted and couldn't understand why :( Now I know it's because my boundaries were cracking and crumbling. Thank you for this! It really puts things into perspective.

Spot on with the translation! Same goes for the ones that are like "I'm not into meeting expectations" but have high expectations and "here's me half-assing something because I kinda care haha see I tried" 🤦🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️

EDIT: formatting Oh shoot, I have so many examples it's truly embarrassing hmm 😅 going to an ex's place via pub transit all the dang time that took about 40-50 mins each trip to spend time with him (he didn't have a car), bring back food from work (we both didn't make much but I felt like I spent so much on him lol), and when my feelings weren't reciprocated I stayed and tried harder hoping he'd change his mind... 🤦🏻‍♀️ after a break up with another ex, we caught up some time a few months after …

A guy I cut off all contact with (or so I thought) messaged me on another social media platform at like 2am so I deleted the chat and blocked his ass lol no more 🙅🏻‍♀️ I only have bad memories and feelings associated with him. Lmaooo it's so weird. I remember talking to a guy who joked about how I was getting to "that age" (currently mid-20s) meanwhile he's 2 years older and was visibly balding... it seems as though the closer a woman gets to her 30s, the less attractive or desirable she becomes??? I don't get it lol I feel that women glow the older they get because they preserve themselves through self-care and self-love 🤷🏻‍♀️

I hate it when they're super sweet and attentive the first few months of getting to know you and you start to feel comfortable around them thinking that something good is happening but then they do a complete 180 and become inconsistent, hot/cold, lack communication, and the list goes on lol

I love this sub so so much! Been following for a few months and it has helped me realize many things about myself and relationships. Left a "situationship" that caused me great anxiety and felt empowered AF. Thank you ❤
