Literally one of the nastiest subcultures.

Really REALLY think about whether or not men care about cute underwear that isn’t a thong or something more exposed. They don’t. The cute undies are for me 🥰

When I read this I thought we had fallen back into the mid 2000s, when the awful phrase “beat up the guts” was being thrown around 🤮

The skinny facts about these deep boys: Is convinced they had a spiritual awakening from that time they dropped acid. Can’t stop themselves from speaking over and interrupting others. They haven’t read even a third of their oh so impressive philosophy book collection that is displayed in a way that they believe will force you to address it in conversation.

Dang, you added a whole new layer to that insidious onion.

“The most important thing in his life”. With barely any exaggeration I would say your experience is actually a horror story.

What he said basically amounted to “you’re not emotionally driven like other women.” which is a crock of poo, I just pour that energy into any creative medium I think I could be decent at. It was an awful stammering marathon about how I don’t start drama or randomly cry, insert any other female emotion stereotype here. Sue the majority of the human race for not dealing with negative emotions masterfully why don’t you.

It’s only strange because most people do have social media. But as someone with a dude that has none, honestly? Rave reviews. Would recommend.

For anyone to say you’re in the wrong for removing yourself from the presence of anyone you find creepy boggles my mind a bit. Any argument presented is implying that you are somehow obligated to accommodate the social shortcomings of others, namely grown adults. No one should ever be taught to risk their comfort or safety to appease anyone, let alone strangers.

A friend that loves many states away always dedicates a great deal of thought to us between visits, including the things we’ll do together and he always brings an assortment of items as gifts that reminded him of us (for both the men and women in our friend group). You just don’t see this level of thoughtfulness that often.

Clever on her part provided this isn’t staged, and awfully sick that he was too engrossed to notice her setting that on his shoulder.

I like how this thread is roasting the absurdly nit picky aesthetic demands of men but also full of discussion on what makes you guys feel cute for yourselves on the side. That kind of energy is what brightens my day.

To add to the point of women becoming happier with age, as far as looks are concerned I value being stylish and put together over what anyone considers sexy. I’m sure many can agree. I don’t think the enjoyment I get out of assembling a well coordinated outfit will diminish with age.

I’m firmly of the belief that voices should never be raised in a conversation between two adults, and I fail to understand why this seems to be a mildly uncommon stance.

A (broken) lava lamp from goodwill isn’t even “on sale”. I buy most gifts on sale, as in I watch for price drops on ideal presents throughout the whole year. This dude is only a tier or two above dumpster diving for “presents”.

Reminder: now is a great time to get real chill with being by yourself, and mastering new levels of patience.

Dress Code is an odd way to phrase it but you’re definitely not wrong about how looking rather put together will ward off undesirables. It wouldn’t be absolute nonsense to have a gander at what the pick-mes consider fashionable these days and cut those out of your life, but you don’t have to live by often repeated advice like “always try to look timeless over trendy” either. It may be just as simply as imagining how the best version of yourself would dress and present themselves, sounds a lot le…

You make a good point. For him to be casually joking with a friend in such a foul manner I would think a non-pick me mother would immediately wonder what sort of comments this man makes to the child when she isn’t present, but certainly wouldn’t bother asking or confronting. The texts alone are reason enough to take the first steps to remove this man from her life.

I roomed with a dude that charted his chores around his work schedule on a dry erase calendar, which was highly respectable and efficient given he could plot out things that needed to be prioritized higher and keep longer tasks for shorter work days. But then I saw one of those gold star chore charts for a grown ass man on here. Could not believe this person was advertising the fact that they were attracted to someone that needed to be catered to like an elementary school child:

Not to be mean at OP but it kinda seems like there’s more than enough of farming this girl’s twitter for today. She’s just capitalizing on content creators like shoeonhead for whatever laundry list of pick-me nonsense.

The issue here is always hoping that dudes having the capacity to be thoughtful while planning dates. I think the coolest one I ever had was a graffiti tour with a bag of our favorite snacks picked up on the way. We just rode around and looked at note-able and interesting graffiti around the town, as some bored kids made a sort of scavenger hunt with their work (geo-caching was big at the time).

Well the real question should be is he following a script of romance written for him by media and things people have told him, or is he eventually tailoring his attempts at romance to your likes and interests? Obviously no guarantees either way but the latter should be taken as a sign that he’s actually into you.

I’ve come to understand that anyone calling themselves a nihilist outside of high school is a walking wad of self destructive habits determined to let anyone who will listen know that they are just SO psyched to exist for the sake of themselves and can’t be arsed to be useful to anyone without benefits in return. See also: hedonism.

Your note about the alt-girls is extremely true. To the point I wouldn’t date goth presenting dudes, or anyone that parroted those obnoxious big tiddy goth gf memes. They’ve made it out to be that any girl who wears black half the week or more has daddy issues and is thirsty for anal.

Excellent suggestion, as I’m sure these things aren’t well discussed if at all. Especially considering I’ve already witnessed the field being comfortably male dominated (at least where I live) enough to hear callous and inappropriate remarks from men in the business.

This is the kind of shit I’m afraid of witnessing, I wanna go into the funeral business as I found I’m particularly talented at speaking with and assisting grieving people but I’m gonna have to brace myself for the nastier side.

Something I read in a comment (perhaps multiple comments) here really opened my eyes to this. It was mentioned that men are “visually dumb” and do little more than a quick scan for signs that a woman is “sexually available”. Basically looks for cleavage, skirt length, tightness of clothes, lipstick and the color red. And got damn if that ain’t the truth I even tested this a few times while leaving the rest of the details alone or unkempt.

I’m just gonna say it, being an RN makes you a massive target for losers. I’ve known this for years, my best friend is one and I have only liked one of her boyfriends. She was hiding the fact that he was actually the worst thus far until she actually collapsed under the weight of it, publicly at that because everyone was currently witnessing him making a big show of flirting with another girl. I only have guesses about what being an RN causes this, perhaps it’s the long hard hours that leave one…

This is especially worthwhile advice for those that tend to get bothered by small things for more than a few hours yet remain calm during “real shit”. Definitely leads to an overall improvement in balance of mind.

He’s insisting that she dyed her hair red and wore a green dress “to screw with him” even though she’s keeping him blocked? Your guy is a narcissist and you should cut your losses and leave. Honestly, one of the bullets in my “green flag” list is that the guy doesn’t talk about his exes.

I stopped reading after the mentions of him losing his temper over little shit. Are mums not at the VERY least telling daughters this is absolutely a “must dump/divorce” trait in men?

The whole thing becomes twice as absurd when realizing there’s no such thing as an aesthetically pleasing ballsack.
