And this is one of many reasons that I'm happy to be single.

That's something I eventually figured out! These POS purposely don't help so you stay burnt out and don't even have time to think about how unhappy you are. You're so busy drowning in keeping up, you don't realize getting out is an option. I'm thankful every day that I never have to deal with a man's shit like this again! I'm so happy you have time for your hobbies and passions again, too!

Thanks for listening! I just hope that any women that are in the same situation I was in see this and take it as their sign!

YES! I swear the stress load reduced by like 75% after leaving him. I just have to focus on my daughter and myself now. I wasted SO much time and energy cleaning up his messes and mothering him. Wouldn't even have 10 minutes to myself in a day and had to contemplate the cost of buying a chocolate bar. Six months after leaving him I have savings in the 5 digits, I've gained 10 pounds (I was underweight from stress), I'm getting my master's degree and my daughter is thriving. Honestly never want t…

I just wanted to chime in and say as a single mother with a previous NV partner, it's a LOT cheaper raising your child alone than paying for three people. I would advise a woman to not start a family until she's prepared to do it alone (emotionally, physically, and financially). Never make a plan that depends even in part on a man!

Didn't you know it's every woman's dream to be treated like a mental patient? 🙄Sadly I would've fallen for this a few years ago and totally started doubting my own feelings.

I definitely believe that. My last two relationships have basically made me a misandrist at this point. I don't trust men at all. I think half the time that they're pretending to "work on things", they're actually trying to upset you on purpose as some "power play." My most recent ex would say things that were the complete opposite of the truth because he knew I'd defend myself and get talking. Never again. I know my truth.

Yeah, that's how they trap you! Now when a man is too nice, I see it as a red flag.

So true. Every man that's accused me of cheating has cheated. Every man that's been jealous of me "flirting" has flirted with other women. They don't want you getting attention from other men but want attention from other women. Honestly I'm completely happy being single and never want to date again. Not worth the sacrifices. Men these days are just disgusting and pathetic.

Same. There were so many times I felt a certain way and was told I was wrong, only to find out I was in fact right. You'll never get a logical answer out of men like this because they don't even know why they do what they do. On the plus side, I never feel like I need closure anymore! When I'm done, I'm just done.

Yes! I really wanted to let him know why I was blocking him because of our extensive history, but in the future, no one will be getting an explanation. If they are a big boy, they should be able to figure it out on their own. Or not. It's not my problem anymore. :)

Next time someone does even ONE of these things, they're getting instantly blocked. No explanation, no chance to do it again. I don't have time and I'm not wasting energy on a human shit stain.

Right? And it's always so painfully obvious where they're going. "Hello dear, tell me about yourself. Are you married? Do you have children? What about some social media I can add you to?" Like fuck off and let me play my game thanks. I just block instantly as soon as any old dude messages now.

I was just raging about this the other day. I've had multiple old men start hitting on me on the scrabble app. SCRABBLE. I'm here to play a game, not find a 50-year-old, fat, receding hairlined scrote, thanks. It's honestly offensive they even think they have a shot.

Yep! Started off as a relationship, but I left after discovering he was a con artist and abuser (took two years to see who he truly was). It's honestly SO much less work being a single mother than a mother to a baby and LVM. I don't have the burden of cooking for him, cleaning up after him, doing emotional labour, devoting energy or time to a loser. I can just focus on myself and my child. Currently a SAHM and getting my master's degree - something I never would've been able to afford if I was s…

I went from a D cup to a saggy A cup after having my baby and breastfeeding, and I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. If a man can't appreciate that I nourished my child, built her immunity, and literally kept her alive with my body, he doesn't deserve to see my glorious breasts.

Story of my life. Men are always telling me they're 6'. Well, I'm 5'7 and you're only 2 inches taller than me. Their response? Oh, you're obviously taller than 5'7 then. You must be 5'10. Um, no. I've been measured multiple times by multiple people. You are obviously just lying. :)

I totally agree. I loved this show as a teenager, but I recently watched it again and did not find it funny at all. The grossest part to me (other than all the advocation for cheating) was Barney telling Lily she was “better than porn” when she lived with him. Like you lie to women to sleep with them, then show them your proudly displayed porn collection to get them to leave? Disgusting.

This is my ex. Even after I left him, he STILL made comments like this. I was so proud of my post partum body (5’7 120 pounds) and he had the audacity to say I was smaller when we met, my weight was just distributed differently, my ribs didn’t show enough, my stomach still stuck out. Like um, if I lose one more pound I’m clinically underweight, asshole. I’m more toned and muscular than I’ve ever been though. My stomach has visible abs! I just hung up on him after that comment. Still trying to co…

So basically have a relationship with a man where you can’t voice any of your concerns? No thanks.

Thank you so much for this book recommendation. I’ve started reading it and I think it’s really going to help me get closure from my abusive relationship.

That’s totally how I feel! Like I have the work of a single mom while technically not being one, but then the added work of cleaning up his fucking mess. I honestly think it would be easier to be a single mom at this point!

Thank you. He’s the most entitled person I’ve ever met. If he has an ear infection, everyone should be soo sympathetic. If I have one, it’s annoying to him that I can’t hear well. It makes me wonder how I’d be treated if I were actually sick. Wouldn’t want to “burden” someone I do literally everything for. So done with this useless emotional load!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
