Congrats on having one of the best takes on this sub.

Oh my bad, I get you now. Here's a pretty nice Harvard study, https://sitn.hms.harvard.edu/flash/2016/gender-lines-science-transgender-identity/. It has some pretty good takes you might be interested. Here's one of the first bits of evidence they present: "First and foremost, is gender identity genetic? It seems the answer is yes – though, as with most traits involving identity, there is some environmental influence. One classic way for scientists to test whether a trait (which can be any charac…

I'm sorry I'm a little confused. If trans people don't exist then what am I?

If you skim through my other comment in this post I go into what it means to be trans and my own experience. I hope those can give you some insight into why people want to be called what they want to be called.

Is that really so much to ask? What's so hard about just calling someone the words they want to be called?

While I'm sure there are some ridiculous stories out there of people who say they're trans because it appears popular or fashionableto do so, but as someone who's active in the trans community I can tell you for certain those cases are few and far between and very frowned on. It's not fashionable to be trans, it sucks really hard, any trans person will tell you that, but it is a good thing that trans issues are more relevant today because that means more people who wouldn't have realized they wh…

Well it does happen. It's rare yes, but some people do transition only to realize that this was a mistake and just go back. Most of the people I've heard refrence to are just happy they know what they are now and dont really regret their transition, if not for the waste of time and money.

Oooooooh. Ok that's great then, tbh I thought you where a transphobe the whole time lmao. Well in that case yea I'm down to leave it at that, I still disagree with you, but this was fun. Thanks for the interesting conversation lol.

But he didn't have what he wanted. He was on hormones and also had a vagina, so he detransitioned.
/r/MensRights26/03/21 03:29 AM

Oh I see where we disagree now. Huh. So wait I'm confused do you think trans people exist or do you just think that DR is a bad example of dysphoria?
/r/MensRights26/03/21 03:28 AM
1

What you’re suggesting is that people who have transitioned may later feel dysphoria because they made a mistake. While this is true this isn't what I'm getting at. DR was dysphoric because he was born male and was forced to transition. Because of the vagina he was given and the feminine traits he took on from HRT, his body gave him dysphoria, because it looked female, when he was male on the inside.

Think of it like this, you say that "He had a gender identity taught to him that was contrary to his sexuality and gender. it didn't work." That's true, it's the same thing trans people go through. I was raised as a boy, hated it and my body, then once I was old enough to realize, I started presenting myself in a more feminine way. This makes me feel good, when I first started presenting in this way, I could almost literally feel my mind clear. This is called euphoria.

I agree with you, he was a male in a male body who wanted to be male. And when he was 15, he transitioned back to male, but from the accident up to that point, his body was female. He went through reassignment surgery and while it doesn't explicitly say in the wikipedia article, I can only assume he was given HRT. He was a man who was tragically forced into a womans body. He was dysphoric in that body to he detransitioned at 15. And transexualism isnt what I'm talking about, that's a diferent th…

I apologize for getting the story wrong but I'm still right here. He got his dick cut off and was raised as a woman, but that didnt work, because he was male. He was dysphoric because he was in the wrong body, but by the time he was old enough to decide for himself the damage had been done. Being trans isnt about turning into a diferent gender, it's about becoming who you always where on the inside. Reimer was a boy on the inside, so he was dysphoric, I am a girl on the inside, so I am dysphoric…

Yea? I'm sorry what do you mean that makes sense. Woman transitions to man, still likes men, so hes gay. That's true yea.
/r/MensRights26/03/21 02:36 AM
1

Yea but he didnt desire to be female, that's why he was dysphoric. So it stands to reason that trans people who desire to be a diferent gender would benefit from hormone replacement therapy, because it would alleviate their dysphoria.

lol it's fine
/r/MensRights26/03/21 01:08 AM

A lot of it is from religious exemption laws. You know a couple years back when that bakery got sued because they wouldn't make a gay wedding cake? It's stuff like that, and yea some people say oh its just a cake, but the issue lies in, well if it's just a cake, what else can we get away with? And with that you have things like housing and credit issues and other nightmares.

I think you misunderstand David Reimers story. First of all transexual is a transphobic term, the word is transgender. Transexual is outdated and means something else. Secondly David Reimer was a man who was raised as a woman at the request of a team of scientists. He was not a transwoman, he was a man forced to transition. Regardless he is still a shining yet tragic example of how bad dysphoria can be for trans people, (if you don't know, dysphoria is the feeling trans people get from being in …

I just told you lol, I'm assuming when you say trans men you mean a trans woman, so first off a trans-man is a female who identifies as male, and a trans-woman is just the inverse, a man who identifies as a woman. You do not need to have started your transition at all, to identify as a different gender.

Ok I know you're born retarded (sorry couldn't resist) but I wholeheartedly disagree with you. Getting Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) or Genital Reassignment Surgery (GRS) is not just a cosmetic. Trans people are not crossdressers or drag queens, they are people who are in the wrong body. This is called Dysphoria. Dysphoria is really hard to explain to those who don't suffer from it, (aka, most of the world's population), but it's way worse than you imagine at first. You may think oh its just…

Very reasonable take. I actually asked because I wanted to make sure this sub wasn't overtly transphobic before recommending a trans-man to look into it, and tbh I've been very surprised at the level of acceptance, again, not because men, just because reddit kinda sucks.

I'd love to debunk this actually. I'm assuming when you say trans men you mean a trans woman, so first off a trans-man is a female who identifies as male, and a trans-woman is just the inverse, a man who identifies as a woman. You do not need to have started your transition at all, to identify as a different gender. Now that that's out of the way, you are absolutely allowed to have a genital/general preference. No sane trans person is going to argue with you there. Any post you see that says str…

I just think everyone should have a right to life, liberty, and property. Is that not the American way?
/r/MensRights25/03/21 11:35 PM

Oh I've been here for a while lol, I'm a transgirl now, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna stop advocating for men's rights and men's issues. I just have a whole new set of rights and issues I need to advocate for as well now.
/r/MensRights25/03/21 11:31 PM

I wish lol. If you look at my reply to teddy's comment I lay out some of the rights trans people miss out on.

I'm glad you asked, it's nice to see someone with an open mind. Trans people are discriminated against all across the world. In America, many states have no anti-discrimination laws. You may think this is about hate speech, and it is, however it goes deeper. In these states without these discrimination laws, it is effectively legal to deny a trans person things like housing, credit, jobs, and more just for the sole reason they are trans. And while I don't know specifics, I know that the UK is ev…

This has nothing to do with feminism. This is a sub against lifting one gender over another, a sub for gender equality. In other words not to trash those with gender dysphoria.

Well cool I have a reason to like Donald now but yo, “The new mantra is ‘We believe the women,’ and he is frozen in ‘I believe the men,’ ” Speier said in an interview. “He’s beyond rehabilitation in my view.” dude my fucking jaw actually dropped.

No, I think that making 9/11 jokes are edgy, and lazy comedy to boot. And yes you're right, gender dysphoria is a mental disorder, but it's one more like depression rather than down syndrome, so rather than physically impairing you, it's impairs you mentally. Also what does Marxism have to do with anything we're talking about?
/r/MGTOW26/01/18 07:47 PM

Well at first it seemed like a sub that highlighted the struggles of men trying to get away from toxic women, not about shitting on non-binary people.
/r/MGTOW25/01/18 11:13 PM
2

Careful, you might cut yourself on all that edge. And yea, there are two sexes, (not counting hermaphrodites), but sex and gender can be two different things. Also, why do you care how many genders there are?
/r/MGTOW25/01/18 11:09 PM
2

Non-binary means no not confirm and/or identify as a different gender than you where assigned at birth. So it can mean a few things, including being transgender.
/r/MGTOW25/01/18 11:07 PM
2

Well I asked you to explain to me why but you just repeated yourself. But, there are two sexes, (3 if you count hermaphrodites), but a person's sex and gender can be different.
/r/MGTOW25/01/18 10:57 PM
2

Explain to me why please.
/r/MGTOW25/01/18 10:50 PM

Who are you to say how many genders there are? Yea demi-whatever the fuck is bullshit but everyone's not the same.
/r/MGTOW25/01/18 10:50 PM

I'm for gender equality. What leftist/feminist groups are doing (putting down white men) is deplorable, but just because we're guys doesn't mean we're better than them.
/r/MGTOW25/01/18 08:08 PM

While I mostly agree with you the post doesn't read that way, it just kinda sounds like middle school level humor like, oh wow they're different let's make fun of them.

This sub is supposed to be about men getting away from toxic women. I fail to see where shitting on non-binary people fits into that idea.

Wrong sub. Neutrois people have a rather sophisticated and peaceful veiw of gender, even if their views on women's rights tend to differ. If the entire world just said fuck it and people were defined by their personality and skills instead of a label like gender the world would be a better place.

This sub isn't against gender equality. It's against 3rd wave feminism's campaign of unjust hate towards white men and anyone who differs in opinion. https://youtu.be/RzA4dCT4X0I?t=55 <-- This right here is what 3rd have feminism stands for, and what this sub is against.

I don't think it's that women shouldn't be cops I think its that women who want to be cops should be physically strong, you know, like cops. Ever realize that female police officers are always so short and not very muscular at all? What's up with that?
