Genuinely wonder what would happen if roles were reversed... What about "love conquers all" and all that?

Happy International Men's Day... Let's continue spreading the message that we have value

Agree... I am only on Reddit and Twitter (for football updates during games)... That is it... So much toxic stuff out there (from both sides!)

I was watching the Olympics on the BBC and there was definitely a lack of diversity...

Great to see, support network for dads is quite poor, I was a member of NCT in the UK and the mums all still keep in touch, but the dads don't. Also I lost my dad a couple years back so there is no one to seek that advice from, we are all kinda meant to "suck it up" and look after the mum and baby, which is in itself a huge weight on our soldiers, pair that with all the emotions of being a new dad is crazy!

Yeah, it is definitely a step in the right direction, I don't think it will be as big as international women's Day where the company hold lunch time session about getting women into IT etc etc but it is a start, my organisation has had a big push in mental health and I feel this is somewhere where men have a huge gap compared to women and can be easily shown with little to no arguements!

My company have it on our internal calendars for which I am proud.

"manosphere" that is another one for the book...

"The Equalities and Human Rights Commission's watchdog said the BBC didn't break the law ..statement from BBC Women, which represents female employees, said the findings do not reflect our experiences". Wtf... Full on investigation looking at all evidence and data available say there is no discrimination... BBC Women say "yeah but I think there is...", I don't care what you think, there has been a investigation that has proven there isn't! Yet reading the article I am led to believe there is..

"Women are more tempted to settle equal pay than other claims because they realise the legal hurdles to overcome are complex, time-consuming and expensive" I call bollocks on this, it is the company who really just wants to move on, time and resources to "prove" they aren't discriminating and the media attention would probably be worse... So settle get an NDA and move on.

Completely agree... Luckily in the UK I had 2 weeks full pay and then took another 2 weeks as leave, it is crazy what a difference this makes to you as a family unit!
/r/MensRights28/10/20 02:25 PM

They literally state in the first section ... "the difference between the average men’s and women’s salaries, which we normalised only for experience"... So experience isn't worth as much if you are a man?

Yeah I did :( whether I agree with things or not I was always pleased to see different people opinions

That is some scary stuff... I thought Reddit was a place to actually share ideas good or bad...

Awesome well done! There is a long way to to, but in the UK my company just upped full pay for paternity to 2 weeks! I will be taking a month off, 2 weeks paternity and 2 weeks annual leave, in the future I am hoping for maybe 1 or 2 months full pay as the default....

Just saw this on the BBC, whilst my condolences goes out to the family (my dad committed suicide last year). I am left (maybe selfousily) frustrated that DV against men by women will now not be reported in the media and will be swept under the carpet.

You are correct it is the UK
/r/MensRights10/02/20 09:57 AM

You have put it better than I have, this is what I was worried about. Having recently lost my father to suicide everytime I see the media representating men in a negative light I just feel ashamed and wonder 'would things be better if we weren't around' (I am not suicidal, but I can see how these feelings of low and guilt could push someone over the edge!)

Also I actually thought the article about blue dress was a good article and I wasnt bashing the article about positive news for women.
/r/MensRights10/09/19 02:35 PM

Thanks for your supportive comment, merely an observation of mine that I am seeing news in general being portrayed negatively towards men and more positively towards women and sharing my thoughts on it, if you don't like it that is fine, get off the sub.

Great video, we need more women like her to defend us men!

Omfg just been on the sub, wtf is wrong with these people? I am all for a good debate about men's and women's rights and equality but it just seems that the sub is just shitting all over men. Best thing we could do as a sub is down vote all their posts to hell!!!

Maybe this is the division of labour they choose? Maybe one is doing one leg of the journey and the other the other leg. When my wife and I looked after our two nieces for a weekend I naturally did the cooking and bedtime story and she took to the early morning routine as knows I struggle to sleep... Division of labour was felt to be fair by both, but if some one came round in the morning and saw me still in bed whilst the wife did the girls breakfast I am sure they would comment how unfair it w…

Context: Soon my wife and I will be looking to start a family, she earns minimum wage, so will give it up to look after our children. I keen for her to have some independence, we have a joint credit card for household things, food, petrol etc and separate bank accounts. I was thinking of doing a standing order for £x but wanted to see what was reasonable, I felt this way she had some money for Christmas, Birthdays, treats etc that we didn’t have to use the “house” account for... So went to googl…

Yeah but what if the man is abusing a woman because his mom or another female abused him, then it’s not his fault right? Or what if that female only abuses the man who abused the woman because a male abused before.... Or....

Crazy that saying this is even an issue, she is a stupid woman and he is a stupid man and together all the MPs are stupid people!!

Some more context: Facebook were trying to get me to raise funds for my birthday instead of getting gifts, not a bad idea. They were offering a £2 donation to the fund raising pot and I thought well I could keep the target low and donate say £18 myself and have £20 go to a charity of my choice. (Not a big fan of asking friends to sponsor me via Facebook, but I get why people do) Problem is the choices were this, and so so limited!

I have felt the same, when I’ve mentioned it I get “everyday is a mans day” “statistics are wrong”, I mentioned to our receptionists that they may get “challenged” on the posters and their words were “bring it on!” They were surprised at some of the stats... My plan is to highlight two simple things 1)Mental Health: not being afraid to talk about things and the high level of suicide rates (I am in the U.K. so it’s the biggest killer of men under 45) 2)Men’s Health: not going to docs for simple c…

I gave a female member of my team (IT industry) a pay rise and I got asked if it was to “deal with the gender pay gap!”, nope it was because she deserved recognition for working so hard!

Well that was my argument... but he linked men and women in the exact same job, exact same experience etc etc and said women have lower salaries than men...

Weird as I can kind of emphasise with this. My parents didn’t beat me like this, but I come from a family where “divorce” is the norm and single parenthood is almost a badge of honour! I am married now, my wife is great, stable job, just the thought of having kids and then something going wrong in the relationship scares the crap out of me, I don’t want a relationship where we aren’t happy or where one parent is absent! I don’t want to repeat the mistakes of my mom...

My work offer 1 week full paid and 1 week statuary (gov pay), one of my guys is taking that plus 2 weeks leave so 4 weeks in total! Obviously going to be a bit of a struggle without him, but I honesty didn’t think twice about him taking it... I would like to do something similar when I have children.

The male presenter does well here, the female reporter uses the “we have to put up with it more than you” as justification...

Great post and I have recently watched "the red pill" I rented it from Amazon UK, it is great to see momentum in the movement. My fiancée has watched it with me as well and although not as moved as I was she could definitely see issues of men's rights.

As an MRA noob I get "well why don't you call yourself a feminist instead of a MRA", does anyone have a suggestion to a killer, but respectful response?
/r/MensRights03/05/17 08:46 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
