1	Why does saying, “female”, upset you so much? While I can’t guarantee someone out there wouldn’t get offended if you’re calling a grown woman a girl, yeah, of course. I’d only maybe find that a bit weird in some professional contexts. Females plural really doesn’t sound any better than the singular, and there are probably even less contexts where it sounds appropriate, but whatever. You’d use a very friendly, human term to refer to man, but you’d use a clinical one for a woman, that’s toeing the line of being grammatically correct and is nearly always used for animals and flowers, and 90% of the time is used by misogynists otherwise. I struggle to believe you would say, “that male over there” when referring to a singular man, but I asked why you don’t say males when referring to a group. I mean, I know I why wouldn’t, because it sounds really fucking weird, and we already have a standard, neutral word for them.
