Once this inevitably blows up in your face, will you have gotten it out of your system? Do you think you will learn any lessons from it and treat the next woman unfortunate enough to take a chance on you a little better?

This is such a deeply dysfunctional attitude.

You have no experience in healthy relationships; by your own account, your parents' relationship was dysfunctional, and yet you don't think you need any help. You won't see a counsellor, and in fact you lecture to other people online as though you're some kind of expert. Why should anyone listen to you? Why would any woman want to date you? Why are you so stubbornly persistent in a path that's brought you no success?

It's a real head-scratcher why you're not landing those second dates...

I guess my point is I don't think the SAT says much about "the education system". Only a minority of students aiming for competitive universities even take the SAT. I practiced extensively with test prep books because my parents forced me to. They are educated, upper middle class people who recognized that whatever I was learning in school wouldn't count for much on the SAT. If all you're saying is that there exists a cohort of boys from families that prioritize education and those kids perform …

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It sort of measures some knowledge indirectly (vocabulary, basic math) but mostly it measures test-taking skills, fast reading comprehension and logical reasoning. I'm sure there's a lot of factors involved. Maybe teenage boys are more used to performing under pressure in competitive, time-sensitive scenarios. More boys play sports and fast-twitch video games. Back when I was prepping for the SAT, it was always emphasized that if you can eliminate even one answer as clearly wrong, stat…

The SAT is explicitly not a test of knowledge. It was originally the "Scholastic Aptitude Test" and now it doesn't stand for anything. It's closer to being a disguised IQ test than a subject test like the AP exams. It deliberately doesn't include any material from a high school curriculum except perhaps some very basic geometry.

How many more times are you going to ride this carousel before you get some help? Do you think it's sheer coincidence that you get almost universally negative feedback on these posts? Is it possible that everyone else in the world is right and maybe you SHOULD see a therapist? I know you are afraid of SSRIs, but you could see a counselor who is not a psychiatrist - they can't prescribe any medication. I think you might do well to see a male therapist, for what it's worth.

It's sad to see you're becoming more vile. Why do you refuse to acknowledge that therapy is the proper venue for "trauma dumping"? You will never have a healthy relationship if you condition it on accepting your abuse. Do you understand that women are people?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 06:06 PM

How does that meme go? Men will literally spend 30 years masturbating to their imaginary friend and her niece instead of going to therapy.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/24 12:03 PM

Men Have No Friends and Women Bear the Burden Men are entitled to a free trauma dumping outlet I think you will quickly find this is not true. Women are not put on earth to be your emotional punching bags. You are not "entitled" to abuse women in your life, and they are not required to put up with it. Please, for the love of god, get a therapist.

Oh, he's not trying to sleep with them, he's just built a one-man cult around worshiping them.

Only a "replacement mom" can have the compassion to understand my trauma dumping and nurture me. This is a deeply dysfunctional way to think about a romantic partner. You need to work through your own issues and approach dating with healthy expectations. Any sensible woman will run for hills from a man wanting a "replacement mom" to absorb his abuse.

I don't think I would ever want to have sex with someone who didn't like me. I'm only into it if she's into me. (possible exception if it was some kind of a kink for her... like she's a rwnj and wants to sleep with a liberal soyboi, or w/e) Pity sex sounds absolutely tragic. So yeah, put me down for a double order of brilliant women who think I'm great but maybe they're already seeing someone or otherwise want to keep things platonic.

Is this correct? Yep. Pretty much, yeah. I could lie and say I'm very self-actualized. And, I mean, there are other things that bring me satisfaction in life but if I'm honest what I want most is for smart, pretty girls to pay attention to me, and laugh at my jokes, and say they want me. Everything else is gravy.

This guy drives me nuts. Sometimes he's almost coherent, but then he goes on a bender or something and posts another rambling doozie about how society should be restructured to serve his fetishes. He had sex with a hooker (I salute our brave sex workers - thank you for your service) and suddenly became an expert on relationships. He refuses to see a shrink because he's afraid of being prescribed SSRIs that might lower his sex drive. And he won't see a non-MD therapist because men will literally …

Doesn't it bother you that you get almost universally negative feedback on your posts? Do you ever stop to think that maybe every other person in the world is right and you really do need help? What is your goal with your reddit posting?

Love is love... When I've asked, "what do you bring to the table?" on this subreddit I mean it in the broadest possible sense: including the ability to love and the emotional capacity to receive love in return. A recurring pattern on this subreddit is people listing off the things they want from a partner with seemingly zero self-awareness of what they'd bring into the relationship themselves. If you haven't even considered how to answer the question "why should anyone date you?" then you're pro…

OP, this is solid advice. Try to be charming, funny, and considerate. Put her at ease, make her feel safe, but don't be super dull and boring. You want her to feel like exciting things might happen if she hangs out with you, but they won't be dangerous, and bad things won't happen to her that she doesn't want. I can count on one hand the number of genuine one-night stands with total strangers I've had, and they were mostly disappointing. On the other hand, I've had some really great casual fling…

Therapy is not that expensive. My therapist is cheaper than my gym membership. They're both very worthwhile investments and a far better use of money than overpriced drinks in bars or clubs.

Why did you delete your comment? It makes the conversation harder to follow. You and I both know that there are serial monogamists on the female side who do have lower expectations when entering into committed relationships. I know no such thing! And, of the two of us, I'm the only who has actually been in committed relationships with women. I'm not saying that to be mean or spiteful, but I really urge you in the strongest possible terms to at least consider the possibility that most everything …

Can I ask, why are you so consistently hostile toward women? You post this stuff over and and over again about bullying your partner and how you're entitled to this and that. Do you honestly think this is a good mindset for finding a romantic partner? What is your goal? The difference between most people who describe themselves as "serial monogamists" and your strange idea of "starter girlfriends" is that most people do not go into a relationship from the outset intending it to fail, it just unf…

I'm not sure, tbh. In my case, my narcissistic tendencies are the natural result of confused parenting & growing up the big fish in a small pond at a crappy school. You could try meditation, positive affirmations, setting up positive feedback loops in artificial scenarios (video games?) where a little bit of initial success leads to more and more success, focusing on your strengths and ignoring or minimizing your weaknesses. I knew a math PhD who was one of the smartest people I've ever known at…

I think there's truth to this. I'm dismissive-avoidant, but not (I hope!) an asshole. But I do tend to be emotionally withholding and happy enough to be single. It's probably been an asset in casual dating because I never come across as desperate or needy, but it's an obstacle to forming and maintaining deeply committed relationships and I'm working with a therapist to learn to be healthier with stable attachments. It's absolutely related to childhood trauma.

You can be cocky and playful without being an asshole. There have been times in my life, when I was younger, dumber, and more arrogant, where I was extremely cocky and honestly quite charming but I was never a prick (if I do say so myself). I don't think politics enters into it very much, but I've always been a liberal feminist courting liberal feminist women. The prescription is to believe in yourself to an almost delusional degree: know in your bones that you are the smartest, hottest, stronge…

You need to get a second date before you start worrying about mismatched libido with your hypothetical wife. Your attitude reads as hostile and will be offputting to many women. What do you hope to gain spamming this same text repeatedly?

It might be why I wind up single. Although I feel pretty conflicted and lousy about the whole situation. This is far off topic for the OP, but I wonder if we're expecting too much from our romantic relationships in modern times. If I think about it explicitly, it does seem like a lot to hope for one woman to be simultaneously my best friend, emotional confidante, intellectual peer, domestic helpmate, sex goddess, and partner in crime, and for her to appreciate and share my sense of humor, aesthe…

I thought this was an interesting article: How is it possible to be loved, and yet be lonely I'm in a loving LTR, but I feel very lonely and alienated from my partner, like she doesn't really understand me or share my values.

I guess I don't understand why you conceptualize that as predatory "targeting". Why can't she just like you? Is it hard for you to accept that a woman might be genuinely interested?

Then see a therapist or counselor who doesn't have a prescription pad, or just say "no" when the shrink suggests SSRIs. There are other meds out there, too. Do you even know what your goal is? These posts of yours read like somebody whose only experience of flying is Microsoft flight simulator writing like, "Well, I'm planning to be an F-22 pilot but I suppose I could settle for F-16s, even though it's not a stealth aircraft" I know some people are doomers who will tell you your life is over if …

You say that the "gloves need to come off" but you keep ignoring everyone who tells you to talk to a therapist or psychiatrist. You keep copy-pasting your questions, so I'll go ahead and copy-paste my suggestions that you ignored last time: I don't mean this as an insult, but you read like somebody on the autism spectrum. I think you'll have more success if you stop thinking of dating as a video game where you have to buff up your stats, and more like a particularly intimate type of friendship. …

No, you're misreading: he's never dated either of them. He's just spent decades building a weird one-man cult dedicated to worshiping them. He ignores critical comments and refuses to acknowledge how unhealthy this is. Then, he journals on reddit and counsels /r/limerence on how to follow his example.

A dog is nothing like a human partner, but I think caring for a dog implies some amount of stability, responsibility and (usually) warmth toward another living creature. Maybe I just like animals.
