In a way, I understand that notion. We have heard of cases where the police tried to throw a case under the rugs due to political/upper authority pressures. So people believe that exposing the evidence to social media is the best way to go. However, when those allegations are proved false, those people alleging should be severely punished. The victims should be given a chance to sue for defamation.

I can’t help it if you think I’m a troll. I have seen similar pictures before and they all had the same message “provocative dressing is not an invite to rape”. I’m come from a country where rapes crimes are pretty high in numbers. In most cases, the criminals reasoning to rape was “she was dressed provocatively”. So it’s become a PSA of some sort to say dressing shouldn’t be a reason for rapes.

I’m not denying Western countries have their own problems. I was merely stating a fact that there are some issues still prevailing in India that are not prominent in western cultures. You are comparing two different things. Divorce and dowry don’t line up. Divorce rates are increasing at a high level in India now too. I was only referring about dowry system because that’s something western countries don’t have. Dowry is still a valid issue in India, especially Southern India (where I’m from). Not all cases reach the media. I have seen multiple cases in recent times. I agree there are fake 498A allegations, but there are some true cases as well.

Everytime I read posts about parents murdering their kids, I go and hug my child and think about all the hardships (multiple infertility treatments and surgeries) I went through for 8 years to have him.
