the greatest civilization in history You sound like you've never been outside the USA in your life. Travel might help you see things differently.

I'm sure you have every right to see verbosity as a negative trait, but not everyone will share your opinion. However, attempting to insult by calling me a peasant and misusing the word "valor" in the same sentence is quite amusing. Why are you nursing your wounded ego when you could be improving yourself? Isn't this whole sub about setting aside your pride and developing your mind and body? Why are you here?

Some people just like being verbose and using a complex vocabulary; do you feel inferior for not understanding all of the words he used? Don't. He merely offered you some pointers in the post you're responding to. Get over your ego (something a lot of people in this sub seem to have trouble with; I know I run into difficulties with it from time to time) and learn so you won't have to feel the frustration of not understanding again in the future.

The problem isn't the joke, it's the people who memorize it without understanding the underlying point, same as with canned pick-up lines.

My #1 sticking point is getting physical. TL;DR: I understand the theory behind physical indications of interest, but I either chicken out or space out when I need to actually put it into practice. I've found that for the most part (at least when I'm in a positive mood), approaching new people, starting conversations, and giving the conversation a sexual undertone comes pretty easily for me. However, I always have trouble when it comes to actually physically indicating my interest in her - even …

You can still be the Mack Daddy of the nursing home, assuming you want to be. I guess that pretty much answers my questions. Thanks.

I understand the point you're making, but realistically speaking, wouldn't The Wall be more like "the moment your body and mind stop responding the way you need them to"? As in, senility, alzheimer's, any number of other old-age diseases and debilities?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
