I make a full-time living as a freelance writer. I mostly have private clients, but also make decent money at writing sites such as WriterAccess and Media Shower.

STFU. My husband should not be my emotional dumping ground.

I think for some women, interest hasn't necessarily waned...they may still feel upset about essentially being rejected, even three or four weeks after said rejection took place. Sort of a "give him a taste of his own medicine" type of thing. Other women, however, have already moved onto other crushes and forgotten the guy after three weeks.

Agreed. I understand why some people are so against online dating, but some of us would have very limited success in the dating world without it. I was always very shy and a major wallflower, but for some reason, online dating helped...I could send messages to the person ahead of time and get past those first date jitters. Without online dating, I wouldn't have met my fiance. That being said, the online dating habits of many women simply confirm the 80/20 rule. Especially on Tinder.

My take on it is that there is some element of hypergamy in all women, whether we like it or not. It is up to me to control my circumstances to ensure that I am not even tempted. This means finding a strong captain that I love and respect -- and then committing to being the best first officer I can be. I believe I have found that captain, and now, aware of the the unfortunate realities of nagging and branch swinging, I feel I am even more capable of building a strong relationship. I believe that…

I have the opposite problem...I would love to have a child within the next few years and my fiance is less enthused. I think we both have to take a leap of faith and trust our respective captains. However, as others have said in this thread, it would be wise for you to tell him why, exactly, you aren't ready just yet.

I'm glad you were able to find a good friend with RP values! I hope you two are able to spend more time together in the future. I am having a lot of trouble finding real-life RPW to spend time with. My best friend from high school is fairly traditional and holds a lot of RP values. Everybody else I spend time with...not so much. I think my dance team is the worst in this regard, which is unfortunate, because I love to dance -- I just don't love the type of people who tend to be on dance teams. I…

I would certainly appreciate this! Recipes are awesome, but I especially could use basic tips and techniques. I can do pasta, eggs, pancakes and other easy dishes, but could definitely use refinement for the more complicated recipes. I realized this yesterday when I was having a hell of a time making a decent pie crust (eventually gave up on the fancy crust and just did one of those pinch bottom crusts)

Does this concept apply to parenthood as well? I was in the same position as Amyjoy1 a few months ago, but my boyfriend proposed after he realized how much I wanted to be his wife. He also knows that I want to be a mom someday, but he's not 100 percent sure that he wants to be a dad. I would rather be married to him than pursue parenthood with another man, but I'm curious as to how often men change their mind when it comes to this issue.

I met my fiance on OkCupid. We were both virgins in our twenties. Most guys are less judgmental about older virgins than you would think, especially if the virginity is the result of shyness.

Can't wait for the AMA...and I sure hope I win the book! Laura Doyle is amazing.

I third it! I've been really slacking lately. I'm going to spend some time working on Debussy's Claire de Lune, which used to be a favorite but has since grown a bit rusty.

I'm a little late, but for the rest of the week, I'd like to practice piano at least a little bit each day. Was watching old videos of myself on the piano the other day...I used to be really good! With practice, I'm sure I could be again. Also, I want to get some more progress in on the book I've been reading. It's really good, but I just haven't set aside enough time for it. It's called How We Decide by Jonah Lehrer and I definitely recommend it.

Definitely. I'm on a hip hop dance team and I'm consistently shocked by the way some of the other women on the team act. One of them started this blog about her dating exploits, and, wow, talk about insulting. According to one post, she sexts with the guys she talks to online "just to mess with them." She also posted photos of the average looking guys who contacted her and insulted their appearance. This gal is 27 and, from what I can tell, has partied heavily in the past. All I could think when…

Consider trying Just Dance or DDR. This probably isn't the gaming your SO has in mind, but it's super fun and a great way to exercise. Also, consider trying some puzzle games with him. My boyfriend and I love solving puzzles together.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
