What if as of date of filing the acct is lets say $500k and 6 months later when they finally get rdy to settle the ira is worth $750k. Do they split that $250k gain ? Or is the cut off as of date of commencement? Im in a no fault state NY Curious if any one was able to preserve the growth while litigating.

Sometimes you have to get a lawyer because the other side is that stubborn and wont cooperate so you need to force it. Nyc retainers range from $18k-$40k. $600-700 an hr

Omg wild. There really is a need investigate and go after unethical lawyers. So wrong how some kick others while they are already down. Takes a special kind of manipulative human to do some of the things they do to the clients. Rare to find a good lawyer a lot of them when I was consulting with were super pushy & had 1 ask me to send her the financials then upon a consult asked for $4k up front just for consulting not even retainer!! Most of them were female lawyers, reminded me of my toxic moth…

My female lawyer screwed me over. The male lawyers are more ethical, less emotional & honest. More integrity!! Women are just 🐱biatches & Im a female. My exs lawyer is female too. Im sure he’s just pissed off at her, didnt even know the law! Filing a cross motion when the judge wasnt a fan of the idea (frivolous). Kept arguing based on date of separation smh not date of commencement 🤦🏻‍♀️ Doesnt even know the law!

💯 my 1st lawyer didn’t even know how to buy a stock like wtf?? How can you bill $600 an hour, wld assume you deal with high networth ppl. Straight up all talk, many pitch a good talk & when you hire them you realize they are just NOT a good human String you along & if you cant pay they will drop you. Never getting married ever again, not worth it imo

Yea when I bring up malpractice many attorneys dont have much to say and they seem uncomfortable when asked about it 😆 there needs to be a DOGE for unethical attorneys Too many out there being bottom feeders & breaking code Thanks for your input btw! 🙏🏼

Have any of you guys thought about suing your attorney for malpractice My 1st lawyer accidently sent me someone else’s divorce decree, charged me for consulting w another outside attorney & just wanted me to settle, ended up firing them & got a better lawyer who actually knew the law, wasnt afraid of the judge 👩🏻‍⚖️ & was mindful of the $$

😱 omg nightmare attorney def shld go after her. Mine sent me someone elses divorce decree by accident, lied to the judge saying i owed $ and that she would waive it as a gift, then didnt apply for attorney fees for me when the judge said I could, also picked the worst mediator (former judge) who everyone knew was a terrible sitting judge, also billed me for consulting either another lawyer. Life is too short to be miserable. Remember to love yourself too and do what you want. Youve done enough sacrifice. If youre alrdy thinking of calling a divorce lawyer than do it, that urge will always be there until you speak to one. Just know if she hasnt worked in a long time and this marriage is over 20 years depending on your state you might have to give her lifetime support and temporary support until the divorce case is over. You may even have to pay her legal fees… until she can self sup…

Judges her and threw things in her face?! Sounds like you arent a safe person for someone to open up to because youll use what they told you against them later on to try to win a quarrel.
