the more i think about it the stranger the practice appears to be, but at least there seems to be some legitimate arguments for it. this article appears to be reputable and although im not offering it as conclusive evidence for the practice, it does open the door to valid arguments. for me, just the fact it makes contracting and spreading STD's more difficult is enough of an argument to satisfy me, the fact women seem to prefer it is a bonus. maybe there is a completely different opinion here be…

excuse me ? if you were able to follow the conversation you would see that i was trying to gauge what exactly the issue is. people here seem to be "up in arms" (displaying anger) about the practice of circumcision. it is reasonable to assume they were "angry" for having it done to them without their approval. it was a question that was relevant to the conversation, not an attempt at psychoanalysis. surely even someone like you should be able to recognize the difference. what are the reasons/argu…

someone mentioned the condition above. ill have a look in a sec and then google it. edit: phimosis may well be it. basically, when i went to try and pee my bladder would release but the urine couldnt come out, so my penis would literally start to swell like a balloon being filled with air. i was only a few years old, but i remember it and it was incredibly painful, as you can imagine.

you seem to be directing that at me as if im arguing for random circumcision. im not, im just offering an alternative to demanding other people stop. i really dont see why people care about this either way. are there tons of guys in america up in arms about this or something ? i mean, are there like marches/demonstrations outside the whitehouse and stuff ?

its easy enough to say "why not some other arbitrary mutilation", but the fact is its not some other arbitrary mutilation and it doesnt leave the child handicapped. its a practice which began either through religion or custom and it does IMO have some benefits regarding hygiene and some alleged health advantages, then theres the condition that i had which i would not have had if i had been circumcised as a baby. are you angry because you were circumcised ? in what way do you feel disadvantaged t…

so the premise behind the US practice of this is purely religious ? and its the religious aspect of it that offends so many people ? its just weird for me that i here people going on about it all the time, i dont understand why anyone cares if babies are circumcised or not. To be honest, i thought circumcision was purely a jewish practice unless it was undertaken for medical reasons, which was the case for me.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
