The man with the worst mommy issues I know has a mother who is still married. Conversely, among the more well adjusted men I know, one was raised up to his teenage years by a single mom (later remarried) and one had a terrible mother who shunned him when he fell out of the good graces of her cult (she was also divorced from his birth father). I imagine poor physical health accounts for a fair number of these cases. Obesity and metabolic disease are terrifyingly common, and I have seen at least some scientific suggestion that they are linked to sexual dysfunction in men: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28650864/
