Golf is my main hobby. Any thoughts on combining golf and lifting? I struggle with playing when sore.

OYS #3 OYS #2 OYS 1 38 yo, Married 12, together 20, kids 8 and 10. 5’10, 219lb, BF -29.2% according to scales- Same as OYS 1 lb down (purchase BF% scales) Mission: Last week I discussed at least setting goals in lieu of a mission. Part of that was returning to triathlon. I have laid out a training plan that will get me fit enough by the end of the year to be ready to look at racing a 70.3. I have started following the plan. Bigger mission wise I need to be more fun for the kids more consistently…

Based on your starting stats you were a little heavier than I am when you started, but are also a little taller. What does your standard 1800 cal day look like? I struggle with diet so always looking for ideas! Did you get the blowjob she hinted at?

5km is just over 3 miles for your conversion. Being able to run at my weight comes down to having ran fairly consistently for 10 years...also proves how shit exercise is for weight loss! Lifts I mentioned in the last OYS that I was starting from scratch working through the weights suggested by the app CLANK. No idea what my actual maximums are yet...but I am weak.

OYS #2 OYS 1 38 yo, Married 12, together 20, kids 8 and 10. 5’10, 220lb, BF -NFI- too high - Same as OYS #1 Mission: I got called out last week on a lack of vision and mission and rightly so. I am at my best when I have goals I am chasing. In the past that has been an Ironman triathlon and I would like to get back to that. I have toyed with the idea of trying to get to a higher level of golf and chasign bigger tournaments. I know these are goals not missions, but I need to sort some target…

Spot on assessment. I have had vision in the past, but have not for the last 3-4 years to be honest. I need to put some time in to this and get a vision sorted to work towards!

I have mentioned the fact our kids should see us being intimate and affectionate (to a degree) to help them understand what adult love looks like. I know this is letting them down. Passive is a great description for it...need to break the habit but not sure how too. More reading and thinking and working and it will come!

I think this is a big part of the problem I actually don’t know. I would love to figure it out but I don’t have a clear vision at all. I want to be a father who physically is strong enough and fit enough to play with my kids for years. A father who is emotionally available to my kids without being too soft. A husband who is playful and fun, both sexually and day to day. I take myself and life too seriously a lot of the time. So much if it comes back to physical I think. Getting that sorted would…

Yes! They are 2 habits I noticed in myself not too long ago. Takes a lot of work to get through them!

I have toyed with Keto but never committed properly. I love the theory but I have to find a way to make it easier to put into practice. I know I am a sugar addict so Keto seems a great answer, but it totally changes my weekly menu which will take some work. I have time off work over Xmas and new year so that might be a good chance to kick it off, any suggested resources? And yeah, goal might be a bit extreme, but have to aim for something.

I read your post before the edit and it got me thinking about the difference you mention here with being a good person vs being well behaved. Our son has it covered I think, already his own man and is the master of not giving a fuck about what others think and questions everything, just have to keep that in him. Daughter needs to be stronger in her convictions and less concerned by others, can see peer pressure being an issue as she get older.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
