Well no it's not irrelevant. If we assume that there are half as many lesbian couples as straight couples, then he is positing that the average lesbian is more than twice as likely to be violent as the average straight person, which is a bold claim which ought to be rejected if no evidence is provided.

I think you're assuming the worst. If it did happen exactly as you imagine it to have happened, then I'd probably agree with you, but all we know is she took offense to his laughing at her in front of their co-workers when she said he need not hold the door, and he received a written complaint. I too do not like to be mocked in front of my co-workers, so I have no problem with that.

There's nothing "after-the-fact" about it. If this article is to be believed: he did not desire or in any way solicit or permit sexual contact; she pulled his pants down on stage and started giving him head; not knowing what to do, he simply goes along with this at first, before pulling away. If a stranger, out of nowhere and without warning, pulls down my pants and does anything to my dick, that is unacceptable. I might have my facts wrong. If so, please correct me.

I agree that women shouldn't beat men any more than men should beat women, i.e. not at all, but I don't agree with the (fairly common) attitude that all physical violence, no matter how minor or in what situation, is abhorrent. This is low point for this subreddit. It's r/mensrights, not r/rapesupporters. Anyone who read the full story already posted knows that the ruling was entirely reasonable, so OP decides to repost just the misleading headline of a tabloid, devoid of context, and he gets upvoted to the very top of the page by people who are taken in by it. Downvoted and reported, although I don't know what the mods' stance is on this kind of thing.

What I would love to see is a list, with citations, of recent examples of prominent feminist groups/activists actively fighting against men's rights. The recent Jezebel article claiming that feminists were fighting for men's rights was all talk, with zero examples. A few counter-examples would go a long way to showing why men don't need feminism.

I guess I'd say it depends. It's definitely not always bad, seduction is a thing, but I think once you've got an explicit "no", it probably is a best policy to back off for the night. Worth noting, that caption is on the picture of a girl who is passed out. Nobody's saying you have to get explicit consent every time you have sex, but if you don't at least get implicit consent, then you're doing something wrong. Yes I know that's vague, but I'm not putting anyone on trial here, and I think any considerate person should be able to tell if their partner is not into what they're doing. I think in this poster, those were two separate scenarios. One where no consent is given, but nor is the word "no" said out loud, and another where consent is given but later retracted. I think both of these scenarios are real and they both merit discussion. Obviously I agree with you that a situation where consent is given and not retracted cannot possibly be called rape, I think you're stretching when you claim that this poster disagrees on that point.
