This is a much better way to word my question. I have no problem finding issues to support outside of work, but its not going to earn the company another dime. I need to find more issues with a economic bottom line like promoting a better work/life balance or masters degrees (women earn twice as many as men do).

I'm actually thinking that leading a group that encompasses ~6000 people would look pretty great at an interview when leadership is brought up

My company is actually pretty gender neutral in terms of the ratio of men and women. So why couldn't we benefit (even if we did outnumber women, where's the equity in not offering the same services to men)?
