CPS is basically a secret police organization that is run independently in each state(in the US). I haven't had any problems with it yet but it can be as bad as the author describes. All a kid has to do is tell their teacher at school something that happened at home, and then the teacher is required to call CPS. Ex spouses can do the same thing and then drag it into the court system because they, the ex spouse, can be an evil manipulative cunt. Again I haven't had to deal with this shit storm ye…

Just read the first couple chapters of the subtle art of not giving a fuck by Mark Manson, and you should pick it up. I'd suggest buying through Amazon since it's $10 cheaper that way. But those first 30 or so pages deal with exactly what you just wrote.

Lifting, just like any hobby or skill, builds confidence the more you do it. That is probably the main reason why so many people say that. If you build up your strength where you can deadlift or squat your weight, that's a big confidence boost to your self esteem. I haven't gotten up there personally but when I was lifting I was able to deadlift 200 lbs. Due to work I haven't been to the gym in 3 years so I have to go back once I find a new career that doesn't suck 50% of my waking hours.

When you're barely above the poverty line, CS sucks, especially when the state wants 1/4 of what you make. Not sure about everyone else who has a middle class job, but when you're barely making it on $15 an hour, 25% of that is a lot

I was actually talking to a co-worker about this last week. There's a German folk tale about a wolf that wants to become a human so he can eat the local tribe of humans, he gets his wish and gets married but along the way loses his drive of his original goal to kill the tribe. He ends up having kids and they end up killing him the way he originally wanted to do to the tribe. Not sure what it's called but it feels like it'd be the kind of story your looking for
