I've just read some more comments and replies and see that the relationship is in even worse state than I thought. I have to agree with the guy who talked about sunken cost fallacy. So many people stay in terrible relationships because "we've been together so long". But unless the other person is willing to work too, and has a similar idea of what a relationship should look like, it's a dead end. Save yourself years, maybe decades, of feeling lonely and mistreated and leave him now.

My honest opinion is that you should leave him. But after so long together I doubt you will that easily. Just remember that he won't get any better than he is once you get married. Assuming he treats you the way you would want to be treated in a marriage (Does a portion of the chores if you both work, doesn't interrupt you or belittle you, is a considerate lover, etc), do you think this material will eventually change the way he treats you? Men tend to be dismissive of emotions as a reason to do…

Child of an abusive marriage and friend that talks sense into her other friends here. A few things I've noticed in people who get into terrible relationships and don't leave are 1) lack of trust in their own feelings Women are often told growing up that they're naturally emotional and sensitive, that they over-react. When the other person says they're being over-dramatic, or over-demanding, they aren't sure. I've seen so many people write off emotionally abusive behavior as "I'm being too sensit…

It's understandable. Women get this mindset too sometimes. A lot of the "manipulative bitches" I've met are girls who never really had male friends, so they don't have a good sense for guys. So they wind up dating red pill guys or just regular abusive assholes. Then after they've been jerked around, lied to, told that they were over emotional and crazy when they said they weren't happy with the mistreatment, etc, they snapped in the same way red pill guys have. They wind up as misandrists, with …

Hey, we all have shitty phases in our youths that we look back on with regret or shame. If you have a real friendship with a woman, that's already a hugely positive step. Most misogynists I know have only ever had male friends, which I think really contributes to their inability to empathize with women. Most of my life I was isolated and lonely. I still am sometimes. I'm socially anxious and my family moved countries several times, so I had to start from scratch repeatedly. Combine that with an …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
