This post is wild

I suppose my answer for this would be that the majority of football players are straight men (as you mentioned), and so the majority of supporters will therefore also be straight as they can relate. Along the same lines, boys grow up essentially indoctrinated into enjoying sports. I guess sometimes gay men get a pass on this, they’re more feminine sometimes, might be more reluctant to get involved etc. But straight men are very much forced into sport from a young age.

It’s interesting how nearly all of these comments were made by men. It’s so internalised
/r/MensRights28/07/22 06:49 PM
1

Maybe I don’t. What type of things does he say that you find resonate with you?
/r/MensRights26/07/22 11:41 AM
1

I haven’t seen any good points that he has made, do you have any you could share off the top of your head?
/r/MensRights26/07/22 11:40 AM
1

I agree with you
/r/MensRights26/07/22 11:38 AM
2

Yeah that’s so true I didn’t even think about that. It’s very true that “the bar is on the floor” for men - but only men who are desired. As in, many women will excuse a LOT if they like a man and will see the bare minimum as exceptional.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/22 06:45 PM
1

That’s a good idea
/r/MensRights23/07/22 12:57 PM
2

I agree. Self hatred breeds anger against others
/r/MensRights17/07/22 11:16 PM
2

Yeah, I just don’t think that it should be an insult that someone struggles to get laid.
/r/MensRights17/07/22 09:57 PM
2

‘Involuntary celibate’
/r/MensRights17/07/22 09:54 PM
2

I believe there are definitely incels of all types and genders
/r/MensRights17/07/22 09:53 PM
3

Yeah. It’s silly. Bring an ‘incel’ (it’s true meaning being simply involuntarily celibate) is nothing someone should be shamed for. It’s exactly the same as shaming someone for having too many sexual partners. Ridiculous
/r/MensRights17/07/22 09:53 PM
2

True. Those who use the term incel to self identify are definitely using it in a different way compared to those who use it as an insult
/r/MensRights17/07/22 09:51 PM
2

I agree. Instead of shaming these men who are hurt over their lack of success in their sexual life, we need to make sure their feelings are heard and help them to boost their self esteem. That’s what their problem is. Not that they are ugly, awkward or poor - their confidence has been shattered.
/r/MensRights17/07/22 09:49 PM
3

That’s a good response - no comeback for that
/r/MensRights17/07/22 09:47 PM
2

Thanks for sharing!
/r/MensRights17/07/22 10:06 AM
5

Oh interesting. So she used it to refer to herself? I suppose that’s true, while I’ve only really seen men identify/be identified as incels, of course women can be as well.
/r/MensRights17/07/22 12:13 AM
2

Why did you make that choice? (If you’re comfortable answering)
/r/MensRights17/07/22 12:12 AM
6

If I’m not wrong, I believe there are some men who refer to themselves as incels? Again, I may be completely misinformed here but I thought that the incel movement was started by men
/r/MensRights17/07/22 12:03 AM
2

The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) has not yet been passed. This amendment would make it unconstitutional to discriminate on the basis of sex at work. Men already have this right; women do not
/r/MensRights16/07/22 08:57 PM
2

I can’t point to a single point in this conversation where I have shown a lack of compassion for men
/r/MensRights16/07/22 08:53 PM
2

I think from a historical point of view there are many many institutional issues of discrimination against women. Today, I don’t believe so. Instead, there are lasting consequences socially and culturally.
/r/MensRights16/07/22 08:52 PM
2

I’m not sure what you mean. Both men and women have a lack of choice in this area. Women’s bodily autonomy is threatened by the lack of access/criminalisation of abortion while men’s choice in whether to be a parent is threatened by the courts system. Whether you choose to focus on the former or the later probably depends on which side you align with more
/r/MensRights16/07/22 08:51 PM
1

Yes. But what my point is that it is accepted societally
/r/MensRights16/07/22 08:42 PM
1

I feel that a lot of the issues faced by women are sexual. Issues of sexual consent (also faced by men), sexual inequality (as in, sex is for men - women’s pleasure comes second or not at all), sexualisation
/r/MensRights16/07/22 08:09 PM
2

Feminists main issue at the minute is abortion. I feel like that is part of it
/r/MensRights16/07/22 08:05 PM
2

Maybe I’m stupid, but in order to understand your point I need more explanation. If you don’t want to provide that I understand.
/r/MensRights16/07/22 07:56 PM
1

Well, to be honest I’m not an expert on institutional discrimination. Most of where I find common ground with feminism is about cultural and social issues. On your point about men and women’s having a legally protected choice to parent - I also feel that this is a feminist issue
/r/MensRights16/07/22 07:55 PM
1

What is the difference
/r/MensRights16/07/22 07:40 PM
1

Okay, do you mean this in the way that men should be able to forfeit all custody and financial responsibility if they do not want to keep their child but the woman has decided to keep it? Because if so I agree.
/r/MensRights16/07/22 07:03 PM
1

True, I have found the most conversation here than anywhere else
/r/MensRights16/07/22 06:59 PM
2

Of course. But I also believe that it is very easy to demonise the ‘other’ side when really, most people are in the middle
/r/MensRights16/07/22 06:59 PM
0

There is no reason to tolerate feminists in the men's rights movement space. And if there is a feminist with enough goodwill to help on men's issues, they have to understand and accept that they have to keep their mouth shut. Is this not the same issue you have with the feminist movement? That they won’t allow MRAs to voice their opinion?
/r/MensRights16/07/22 06:54 PM
1

Not so much far right. More just extreme anti-feminists who I believe have a lot of hatred in them
/r/MensRights16/07/22 05:14 PM
1

Sure. If you wouldn’t mind, would you be able to share with me your fundamental beliefs? I can then tell you which I have issue with and explain what my thoughts are.
/r/MensRights16/07/22 05:13 PM
2

Damn. I’ve never met anyone who believes these things. Really shocking beliefs tbh
/r/MensRights16/07/22 04:58 PM
3

Yeah definitely, as well as the opposite. Both sides have turned me off.
/r/MensRights16/07/22 04:57 PM
3

Thank you! I really understand everything you have said here. I’m glad I posted this because even though I have received a fair few downvotes I feel I am learning a lot
/r/MensRights16/07/22 04:56 PM
2

I’ll be honest, I struggle to find anything substantial on feminist subs - maybe I’m looking in the wrong places
/r/MensRights16/07/22 04:52 PM
1

I find the kill all men hashtag disgusting. I believe that the word feminist once had its place though.
/r/MensRights16/07/22 04:51 PM
1

I do. I doubt some fundamental principles of both sides if I’m totally transparent
/r/MensRights16/07/22 04:49 PM
2

I find all of those statements abhorrent
/r/MensRights16/07/22 04:47 PM
2

I understand what you’re saying about feminism being a political movement and I may be confusing it with ‘women’
/r/MensRights16/07/22 04:45 PM
2

I feel like I really relate to this
/r/MensRights16/07/22 04:39 PM
0

I don’t, necessarily. I really do feel I align somewhere in the middle. I have fundamental disagreements with both feminists and MRAs
/r/MensRights16/07/22 04:39 PM
7

I found this very interesting. I think if well-meaning feminists and well-meaning MRAs were to put their judgements aside and listen to each other fully and without defensiveness, the world would be a better place.
/r/MensRights16/07/22 04:35 PM
1

Would you say there are any more fundamental ideas of feminism that are widely disagreed with by anti-feminists or just these?
/r/MensRights16/07/22 01:31 PM
3

Yeah that’s the type of thing I was kind of thinking of
/r/MensRights16/07/22 01:26 PM
-9

Would you be very against the feminine version of equality? Or is it just a slightly different way to reach the same goal?
/r/MensRights16/07/22 01:25 PM
2

That makes sense. Out of curiosity, am I about right in saying that the idea patriarchy and make privilege are the issues in feminism that deserve criticism?
/r/MensRights16/07/22 01:24 PM
-7

I see, so the ‘feminists’ referred to on this sub are the group of man haters rather than the other group of feminists which seem more reasonable to you?
/r/MensRights16/07/22 01:23 PM
1

Yeah I see that point. I agree
/r/MensRights15/07/22 12:33 PM
2

Thank you! I really appreciate that. I don’t mean to aggravate - I really just want to learn different perspectives
/r/MensRights15/07/22 12:30 PM
1

No of course not. They can and do both exist
/r/MensRights14/07/22 11:02 PM
1

I think it’s a problem that there is such a gender divide on this issue
/r/MensRights14/07/22 10:41 PM
-2

Yes
/r/MensRights14/07/22 10:41 PM
1

Thanks for sharing that. It seems like where the problem lies is seeing it as a gendered issue. Both false accusations and rape happen to both men and women
/r/MensRights14/07/22 09:42 PM
2

Yeah I get you. They’re both issues. I guess I was confused about why I see so much of the attention focused on false accusations when I’ve rarely seen it happen
/r/MensRights14/07/22 09:34 PM
-3

I believe they’re of importance and of course they’re disgusting, but I’m wondering if they’re as prevalent as some people seem to believe
/r/MensRights14/07/22 09:34 PM
-1

I also think that false accusations are abhorrent. I just can’t get behind the belief that they are so rampant
/r/MensRights14/07/22 08:35 PM
-2

I have heard no evidence suggesting this is true
/r/MensRights14/07/22 08:33 PM
-1

I don’t feel I lack empathy for men. This isn’t a womens issue, it’s a rape issue
/r/MensRights14/07/22 08:32 PM
-6

Yes of course. I was looking for explanation about how there is so much disparity between the feminist and mens rights view - one thinking that false accusations are rampant and one thinking that they aren’t and yes, of course men shouldn’t go to jail because women feel bad. They should go to jail for rape.
/r/MensRights14/07/22 08:30 PM
1

Literally just view women as people
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/22 08:32 PM
2

True. Women generally are less superficial than men (obviously there are some very superficial women though). Personality goes a LONG way
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/22 01:04 PM
6

Orwell
/r/MensRights29/06/22 12:46 AM
2

Well, I think that women should fully have the right to do what they want with their bodies without input from ANYONE. However, this should also mean that the father of the child has the right to have no responsibility financially or otherwise for a baby he didn’t want. A baby is conceived by two people yes, but only one of them has to go through the, frankly (if unwanted), traumatic and painful experience of childbirth.
/r/MensRights21/03/22 02:14 AM
1

sorry, what do you mean?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/22 10:50 PM
1

such a sexist way to think about marraige.. and relationships in general
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/22 05:11 PM
-2

I really agree with your point that we shouldn’t make these things a gendered issue! Rape, domestic violence etc affects everyone, and it should be treated as such.
/r/MensRights24/04/20 11:17 PM
3

All of it is ridiculous. That man should be spending much longer in prison. And the person who posted this seems ignorant and like she is just trying to attack men for no reason. It seems like she is advocating for ‘guilty until proven innocent’ which, obviously, is very flawed.
/r/MensRights24/04/20 11:14 PM
1

I don’t know what country you’re from, but where I live, rapists are rarely convicted unless there is outstanding evidence. And even then, there’s been cases where there has been video evidence and text messages that prove the rape has occurred and there have been no convictions.
/r/MensRights18/04/20 08:54 PM
1

This is largely incorrect, you can rarely be convicted of any crime on simply “the word” of anyone. Having sat in on multiple court cases where someone has been accused of rape, there needs to be heaps of evidence to convict.
/r/MensRights18/04/20 08:44 PM
1

A very small possibility.. it’s unlikely that you will get to know someone enough to sleep with them and not know that they are a piece of shit who would make something like that up. Of course, you could meet someone on a night out and sleep with them, but I still think there’s a very small possibility. Try not to worry about it too much. If it happens (it probably won’t), that person would have done the wrong thing no matter what. I don’t think you can really ever protect yourself from anything…
/r/MensRights18/04/20 07:35 PM
1

No I don’t.
/r/MensRights17/04/20 12:28 PM
1

What stops me from rape is the fact that I have never had the desire to and it is a horrific thing to do No it’s not fair
/r/MensRights17/04/20 10:00 AM
1

I hate that it is such an echo-chamber. The thing that I like about this sub is that outsiders who may not understand what MRAs stand for or may disagree with the cause are still able to comment and discuss their point of view. They may be met with a lot of downvotes though, which isn't great unless they are being an asshole.
/r/MensRights16/04/20 09:08 PM
0

The difference is that it is more likely that a pedophile will abuse a child because of the fact that they are a pedophile. Being a man does not make you more likely to rape someone. Being a pedophile gives you the innate desire to have sex with a child (which is rape). However, being a man does not make you have the innate desire to rape. Only some men (and women) have the desire to rape.
/r/MensRights16/04/20 08:58 PM
2

I hope that the people who voted for the third option are trolls.
/r/MensRights16/04/20 08:47 PM
8

In most cases they are but not always, and a lot of men really don’t like wearing them. I don’t, but until there’s another option of course I will continue to do so.
/r/MensRights16/04/20 08:34 PM
3

Yeah that’s completely ridiculous... I don’t know much about the science behind vasectomies but it’s complete hypocrisy to say that it would be ok to perform one on a child. I assumed this was a joke and it probably is. Although the sentiment that men taking precautions (not getting a vasectomy) would reduce the amount of abortions is true. That’s why I think developing a reliable male birth control would be excellent.
/r/MensRights16/04/20 08:23 PM
1

I’ve heard “boys will be boys” in regards to sexual assault. It is a terrible thing for people to say and definitely heightens prejudice against both males and females.
/r/MensRights10/04/20 10:47 PM
6

I have no idea haha
/r/MensRights06/04/20 05:46 PM
1

I believe men and women should be equal. Some feminists see men as the enemy, not all. I’m sorry that people call you a nazi, I think that is uncalled for and untrue based on the conversation we have had. I do believe you are sexist though, and I am confused as to why you are ok with being sexist. I don’t think separatism is a good idea. Men and women aren’t different species and unless you see women as so different from us that they are, I don’t understand why you believe this is a good idea.
/r/MensRights03/04/20 02:44 PM
1

Ok, I’m going against feminism then... and? I never said that I believe in everything feminists say. Men are not oppressed. Women do not see men as the enemy - some do, not all. I think you’re sexist because of your attitude towards women, nothing else.
/r/MensRights03/04/20 02:00 PM
1

Men aren’t oppressed. Neither are women. You’re sexist, and you see women as the enemy rather than people.
/r/MensRights03/04/20 01:47 PM
1

We are definitely on a different wave length.
/r/MensRights03/04/20 01:43 PM
1

What?
/r/MensRights03/04/20 01:35 PM
1

I don’t know what real feminism is. I don’t know what the MRM actually is. I oppose people who don’t want equality, because I want equality. I oppose people who take away men’s rights because I am a man and I care about other men. I oppose people who take away women’s rights because I care about women. If you don’t, you’re a selfish person. I don’t care if you think feminists are attacking men... that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t care about women. Just because you see someone do something negative…
/r/MensRights03/04/20 01:25 PM
1

And what? So because some women don’t want equality you don’t? You’re a hypocrite. You can’t be angry that some feminists don’t advocate for equality while you sit here and do the same.
/r/MensRights03/04/20 01:14 PM
1

Why should you give a shit about equality?? Because that’s what everyone should support... you’re clearly not a reasonable person. I’m a man, and I care about equality for men and women. You should too.
/r/MensRights03/04/20 01:11 PM
1

I’m not a woman? I believe in equality for men and women, I don’t know what that makes me. You’re a hypocrite for saying you’re against the feminist movement because it’s for female supremacy and then saying you’re for the MRM which (you said) supports male supremacy.
/r/MensRights03/04/20 01:06 PM
1

No. I have an issue with both male and female supremacy. You’re the hypocrite here.
/r/MensRights03/04/20 12:58 PM
1

So you believe in male supremacy?
/r/MensRights03/04/20 12:53 PM
1

No I haven’t. I said that if that were true, MRAs want male supremacy. Are you missing something?
/r/MensRights03/04/20 12:51 PM
1

No... by that logic, men’s rights is about male supremacy.
/r/MensRights03/04/20 12:47 PM
1

Exactly... that’s my point.
/r/MensRights03/04/20 12:44 PM
0

I’m not engaging in this conversation anymore.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 08:50 PM
1

Yes, no one is toxic because of their gender. In my opinion, toxic masculinity/femininity comes from societies expectations of the genders. Eg. ‘Men don’t cry’ - toxic and hurtful to many people. I don’t know enough about what the patriarchy is.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 08:43 PM
1

Did you read what I just said? I haven’t read up on the patriarchy so I can’t form a proper opinion on that. There’s toxic masculinity in the same way that there’s toxic femininity.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 08:38 PM
1

I am not open towards discrimination of any kind.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 08:36 PM
1

I’ll check it out.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 08:32 PM
1

I believe that toxic masculinity is used wrong in society, men should be allowed to be men without being accused of having toxic masculinity. And I think the patriarchy has existed in the past. I’m not sure about now.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 08:31 PM
1

Unless I’m missing something, I don’t think lower class men were treated worse than lower class women.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 08:29 PM
1

Because I’m not ignoring the fact that men have been treated horribly, I’m just saying that they haven’t been treated worse than women. Men were not treated badly because women were lifted up above them.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 08:28 PM
1

I can’t help but think your bias and hatred of the feminist movement is getting in the way of you making a logical point.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 08:24 PM
1

I can’t really agree with that argument. A women of the same class, race etc. of a man has never, historically, been placed above that man. I’m open to be proven wrong, this is just what I think.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 08:22 PM
1

Yeah, I had a look at your source. I actually learnt quite a bit that I didn’t know before. I still do believe that women have been treated as possessions in the past, culturally.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 08:21 PM
1

Ok I wasn’t aware that you were talking about the movement feather than the people. I would agree that the feminist movement that ignores false rape accusations etc. is incredibly toxic.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 07:55 PM
1

I agree that it had sucked to be a man. But I don’t agree that it was because of their gender.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 07:53 PM
1

I believe in some of the principles of Marxism, sure. I’m not sure how that’s relevant.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 07:11 PM
1

No of course I don’t. You’re the one who is grouping all members of a group into one category. I’m saying there are reasonable feminists, you’re saying there aren’t. You’re the one who is saying that a group of people represent hundreds and thousands.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 07:01 PM
1

Why? I don’t see why it matters. Maybe 10?
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:59 PM
1

These people are not reasonable feminists.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:59 PM
1

A lot of my friends are feminists.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:58 PM
0

Ok. I see where we have a miscommunication. I think there are different definitions of feminism, one being simply wanting equality between men and women. Another definition of feminism is the one which tries to place women above men - no one who subscribes to this is reasonable in my opinion.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:58 PM
1

Yes, radical feminists, unreasonable feminists. You don’t know what you’re talking about.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:55 PM
0

Neither did some men, as late as 1917 in the US during WWI. Women were given the right to vote very soon after men were given the same right. Key word - some. Who were the men? Black men, poor men etc. - not comparable to gender. Second key word - after. This isn’t an argument suggesting that women were ever placed above men in society. As for women being considered the property of men - women were literally given to their husband by their father. I’m not sure what you mean.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:54 PM
1

What part of that is a lie?
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:50 PM
1

I’m struggling to see where we agree on some things. I just don’t accept that women were ever historically placed above men in society.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:48 PM
1

No, you’re assuming that I think those are reasonable feminists when I haven’t implied that. It’s ignorant to believe that everyone in a group is unreasonable.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:47 PM
2

Feminists often call out the difference between how people react statutory rape when it’s a boy compared to when it’s a girl. You know, the “lucky guy” thing. I’m not sure about the feminism sub, I’ve never been banned or ignored myself.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:46 PM
1

I don’t think we will be able to agree. Mixing class and race etc. into debates about gender confuses things.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:43 PM
1

I believe that’s ignorant.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:42 PM
1

Not calling something out public ally doesn’t mean you support it. If I didn’t publicly say that I’m against murder, it doesn’t mean I support murder. Also, I’ve seen feminists who are extremely angry about the lack of resources and support for male victims.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:41 PM
1

I completely disagree. I don’t think it’s in any way true to say that men have been treated as second class citizens in history when women literally didn’t have the right to vote, were considered the property of men etc.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:39 PM
-2

I assure you, feminists do not support rape and domestic abuse towards men.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:38 PM
-5

There are many MRAs who try to prevent equality for women - the unreasonable ones.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:37 PM
2

I’m not avoiding the topic, I’m making a comparison. I’ll rephrase. Find me a MRA who would stand up for women’s issues publicly.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:36 PM
1

Women as a group. I’m not talking Kings and Queens, I’m talking about society. Historically, women have always been placed below men.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:35 PM
2

Same thing, find me a men’s rights activist who would speak out publicly about a feminist issue.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:31 PM

Yeah I still don’t think it compares. Women were treated as second class citizens because they were women. That hasn’t happened to men.

No I think that some feminists are unreasonable, but not all
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:23 PM

It was still men in power though. There’s never been a time where women ruled over men.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 06:21 PM

I’m not sure what you’re referring to when you say men were also oppressed for thousands of years. I thought that men have historically always been the ones in power.

You’re still not really getting what I’m saying.

Sure, I think the term ‘feminist’ has amassed a huge amount of negativity and most people stray away from it due to how taboo it’s become. That’s why I myself would be wary to call myself one, due to the stigma.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 05:44 PM

I don’t really understand what you mean. A reasonable feminisms wouldn’t deny due process to a man.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 05:43 PM

Yeah, but then again, lots of reasonable MRAs don’t go out of their way to stand up for injustices against women. That doesn’t mean they don’t think it’s a bad thing.

Fortunately there are reasonable people anywhere you look.

Yes, I think it would be sexist and racist to blame all white men for all problems that people face. I do think it is a problem that the composition of the government doesn’t really reflect the population.

This is always up to opinion of course, but for example, there are at least 4 major legal rights that women have, and men don't. Whereas there are no legal rights that men have, that woman don't. I found this interesting, Ive never thought about it before. Like what? I agree that men and women both have struggles, but neither are oppressed in our society in my opinion. myriad number of men's issues that have largely gone ignored for thousands and thousands of years. I’m not sure that’s fair to s…

I have actually. Many moderate feminists agree.

It’s not my argument. It was an example of a feminist argument.

This only applies to some people. Not reasonable ones.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 05:16 PM

I know a lot of feminists. None would support someone who falsely accuses another.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 05:15 PM
2

I don’t know about that. I think categorising all feminists in the same boat as the radical ones is a bit ignorant.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 05:05 PM
3

I’m glad it’s like that. I guess in my experience I’ve come across both men and women who can’t accept that the other have problems too, and that sucks.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 04:58 PM

I’m not sure what led you to think that. Do you think reasonable feminists don’t exist? Or that Reasonable people don’t believe that?
/r/MensRights02/04/20 04:57 PM
3

We don't deny women's issues, we just want men to be included in the conversation. That’s totally cool. I believe that’s the way we should be.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 04:56 PM

Reasonable feminists would definitely not support made up accusations. No reasonable person would.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 04:50 PM

Men support abortion rights at higher rates than women. Oh, I actually didn’t know this. I meant that a lot of feminists make the argument that it’s mostly white old men in government who make decisions about abortion. Yeah I think radical feminists often think that their issues are more important than the issues that men have. Although I have seen a lot of MRAs who do the same thing unfortunately.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 04:48 PM

Yeah I think what I have an issue with is that some people try and put one issue above another. I hate when I see radical feminists say things like “who cares if men are falsely accused... women are actually raped!!!” Because it happens, and it’s a terrible thing.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 04:41 PM
2

Yeah I agree, I would much prefer if we could drop the gendered focus too. I don’t see why rape can only be a “women’s issue” or a “men’s issue”. It’s both.

Like what?
/r/MensRights02/04/20 04:19 PM

Men are biologically incapable of birthing a child, women aren’t biologically incapable of riding a bike. So that comparison doesn’t really make much sense.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 01:59 PM

I’m not sure why they had to be separated in the first place
/r/MensRights02/04/20 01:36 PM

Maybe I’m wrong on the idea of feminism. I was under the impression that feminists want equality. I definitely don’t think it’s better to have female friends, just mentioned it because it might have influenced my opinion on the issue, actually taking away some of my credibility. I don’t believe I’m any better of a person than anyone else.

Cool! Thanks for the convo :) I love finding common ground.
/r/MensRights31/03/20 08:49 PM

What I meant was that men and women shouldn’t compete against eachother to be the better gender. Competition in general is healthy

I’m not upset. I just wish you could have been more civil. Maybe we could have had a proper discussion.
/r/MensRights31/03/20 06:08 PM

I’d have to disagree. I don’t think one gender needs to put the other down to seek equality. Maybe it’s because most of my friends are women that I’ve acquired views like this.
/r/MensRights31/03/20 05:58 PM

I apologise to OP if I came across rude or belittling, I thought I would just express my view. I’m not pretending you’re angry, name calling and swearing have me that impression.
/r/MensRights31/03/20 05:46 PM

No lol. Racism is discriminating against other races, by definition. Feminism is not discriminating against men. Sure, some ‘feminists’ are against men, but not all.
/r/MensRights31/03/20 05:34 PM

Sure, I agree that it’s horrible how male rape victims aren’t supported enough. The thing with STEM and colleges is that those things were implemented in order to elevate women to the same status as men. Admittedly, they may have gone too far and we should be trying to make men and women equal rather than having them compete against eachother. Completely agree that we shouldn’t fight inequality with more inequality
/r/MensRights31/03/20 05:23 PM

The only thing you’ve done wrong is getting angry for no reason. When was I rude?
/r/MensRights31/03/20 05:13 PM

I get why you’d say that. I have seen some posts celebrating women, like on international women’s day for example. I don’t necessarily think that’s a terribly bad thing. I think we (men) should be celebrated too obviously. Maybe it’s because in the past men have been exclusively celebrated so women are trying to catch up.
/r/MensRights31/03/20 04:53 PM
-4

I have no idea what you’re even arguing. There’s literally no need to be rude and angry.
/r/MensRights31/03/20 04:41 PM

Sure versions of feminism are against men, not the one I subscribe too. Similarly, some versions of men’s rights activism are against women.
/r/MensRights31/03/20 04:18 PM

No, they aren’t. I’m the same. I think everyone should support both men’s and women’s rights.
/r/MensRights31/03/20 03:53 PM

Same applies to a 9-year-old girl who sees that his mother isn’t getting recognition for her job in a supermarket while a male doctor is... no one is saying that men who work aren’t important. Unless Im seeing a completely different side of the media than you are.
/r/MensRights31/03/20 03:38 PM
2

I literally never said truck drivers weren’t essential. Supermarket workers, truck drivers, nurses etc. are all essential at the minute. None of those jobs have a gender. I do agree that nurses are getting too much praise in comparison to all the other important workers, but it’s not because it’s a female dominated job.
/r/MensRights31/03/20 03:28 PM
-13

I don’t see how you can argue this is a gendered issue. Ok, you can argue that truck drivers and paramedics etc. are undervalued... but that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact that they are male dominated careers. Completely ridiculous to bring gender into something that is clearly nothing to do with gender, seems like you’re looking to paint men as poor victims who don’t get recognition for their work... nah buddy.
/r/MensRights31/03/20 02:23 PM
-14

You still seem to think that men don’t do any of these jobs...very strange to me that you’ve taken that stance. Sure, a lot of successful men get praise... whats your point? If you’re more successful, you get more praise. That’s just how the world works, for men and women. They didn’t deliberately choose female dominated work fields to praise, they chose work fields that are most essential at the minute. If people were saying “look at all the women and how essential they are at this time!” Id un…
/r/MensRights31/03/20 02:00 PM

Lol... men can be nurses and healthcare workers too, I don’t see your point. And do you think healthcare workers don’t work all year round? Men get plenty of praise. People aren’t specifically praising the women, they’re praising the work that the workers are doing during a ver serious time.
