I think the OP meant to argue that /r/feminism's statement against bigotry was false because in practice they don't apply it to men (OP's position, I don't know enough to say if it's true or not). Sensationalist hyperbole maybe, but I doubt that misquotation was the intent. That sounds a lot fairer to me, both from a feminist point of view and in terms of ensuring the troops are physically capable. 5	Today I had to explain to my 11yo son that people think hitting a girl is much much worse than hitting a boy. :( In the end, you're right: your son does need to learn how to handle himself even when the situation is unfair. He will surely have such encounters in the future. That said, I think vostran is also right: you are in a position to effect at least awareness, if not change, in the system. The way boys and girls are disciplined differently at your son's school is bad for boys (obviously), and also bad for girls (as vostran pointed out).
