This. If a man doesn't wait "as long as it takes" for you to get comfortable with him, then he ain't it. This can be any amount of months, or even years. (Not that I would recommend wasting your time on a man you don't feel comfortable with for so long, but just for emphasis.) Only an entitled, rapist-culture-driven LVM would want to have sex with someone who isn't comfortable and enthusiastic about the idea. Drop him fast.

Absolutely, don't ever let others scare you into a scarcity mindset. HVMs have the full package and if they don't, they ain't it. We will happily stay single & successful without a loser LVM dragging us down.

Funny she says she can do everything in a relationship by herself (so men can put in 0 effort) yet she needs male validation to feel like she exists, that she is even alive. What level of pickme hell do you have to be in if a man ignoring you gives you an existential crisis? 🤔

Yeah, that comment had me going ??? It's irrelevant to the video; at no point did the girls/women threaten to bring the old scrote to court. They shamed him into deleting them, and rightfully so because the act is disgusting and morally bankrupt.

I was called "cheeky" when I returned his "playful" jabs right back at him but more ruthlessly. I grinned ear to ear receiving what I took as a compliment. Also "fancy", which is usually a compliment but in context he was negging me because my house was kept in a much nicer condition than his (???).

I was talking to my friend the other day regarding the amount of gross old men who approach us or try to slide into our DMs. And her response was "I guess some older men just like younger women." Uh yeah, of course they do. Who gives a damn about what they like or want? It's sickening that they think their thinning hairline and expanding waistline is attractive to anyone, let alone women half their age. They'd be lucky to get any women's attention, but their audacity knows no bounds. I will alwa…

Truth. If you are dependent on the use of a commercial product just to feel confident about yourself, then you aren't empowered- the company that makes that product is.

Make sure that when they are inviting you, you are known as the guest of honor. What I mean by this is, don't ever initiate the date or help them plan anything. If you take part as the event's organizer, they will take advantage of that. When they ask me for input, the most I will say is what general cuisine I feel like having and which days I am available. That's it. They need to manage the time, location, cost, quality... Etc. This will not only help you assert yourself as the guest but also p…

Thank you. I've seen posts that start with "I don't wear makeup" followed by some deep, internalized misogyny and wanted to stay away from that association. Whether or not you like cosmetics, we're all under the same patriarchal-rooted expectations.

The feeling of relief when you get to wash it off! 👌 "No thanks, go away!" Love that, I should use it more often.

Same, I have oily skin so I'm careful about keeping it clean and moisturized. And staying away from oily food as much as I can. My friends who do wear a lot of cosmetics actually find it harder to keep clear skin, and have to be very careful about their selection.

Exactly, and don't get me started on men who "prefer women who don't wear makeup". 🙄 As if they are doing us a favor, when they don't even know what not wearing any makeup looks like. As if their individual preferences mattered against the weight of societal expectations.

It does make sense! Women are generally more empathetic and social - we pick up on these cues (to be respectful, to fit into the aesthetic, etc) without being told to. And the makeup industry takes advantage of that silent pressure. 😔

At the risk of sounding like a NLTOG, I have never worn makeup on a regular basis as the feeling of product on my skin really, really irks me. The only products I use on my face is moisturizer and sun screen. Even so, I've felt societal pressure to wear it on certain occasions (important interviews, weddings, prom). Although they are few and far between, I have caved several times because I don't want the fact that I didn't wear makeup to be the cause of losing an important job opportunity. It's…

Just saw this earlier too. Absolutely predatory. They obviously don't care about underaged girls who are browsing reddit. Also being in the top 0.73% only nets you 12k? They left out the timeline in which that 12k was earned, but damn if it isn't a pittance for selling your dignity, safety, and all future prospects. Edit: extra word

It's possible and honestly should be normalized. Not 100% of the time (maybe 90% when in a relationship, if you want to treat him on special occasions 🤷🏻‍♀️) but he should definitely be picking up every tab while he is courting you.

I stopped seeing the last guy when he let me get out my wallet to buy a latte (although he did pay for the actual date, this was more him walking me back to the station afterwards). Having a pickme friend is so frustrating sometimes. One of my childhood friends has shown signs of being a pickme and I only want the best for her. She hasn't done anything bad or tried to push her mindset onto me but it's still been really rough hearing her stories of NVMs. One guy she has a friend/situationship literally threatened to murder both her and her dad. He's certifiably psychotic. Thankfully she called the cops on him and showed them the evidence. However, he didn't turn himself in s…

Very well written! We don't talk about this nearly enough and the distinction is so important. I considered myself a leftist until liberal feminism left a huge stain on the ideology and nowadays I identify as a centrist on the political spectrum. What you wrote may have just redeemed it for me!

"Happy for the opportunities I create"? Imagine thinking a coffee date is an "opportunity" because if the "vibe is good" he'll bestow upon you the gift of bad sex with a cheap, no effort, and probably abusive man. As a bonus he'll string you along and waste your time for even longer. She clearly doesn't know what she's missing out on. /s

Thanks for the clarification, it does make sense! On a theoretical level I agree with this. It's unfortunate that society's mindset hasn't reached a level of altruism to allow for such a plan to be implemented in practice. Of course, this is all based on the premise that technology can actually accurately measure stress levels and ability. An interesting talking point nonetheless. :)

I work in a business environment where no one is counting hours. As long as the work gets done, the number of hours will vary from individual to individual. Our work schedules are also flexible such that 9-5 is more a guideline than a rule. So this question wouldn't really apply to me personally. But I gather this refers to other industries (retail, catering) where hours are the drivers of pay and even performance evaluations. I agree that someone with low stress capacity shouldn't push themselv…

Welcome! I do love the publicity this sub gets from whiny scrotes whose viewpoints are so distorted, they can't possibly see the truth that resounds with so many women. Our most common advice is "block and delete" which is the opposite of inceldom so I'm not sure what these guys are on.

Honestly women are so kind. I was visiting a specialist doctor's office in an area I wasn't familiar with the other day. When I got off the subway, I tried to orient myself near an intersection, probably looking very confused as I stared blankly into my phone's Google Maps. Half a minute later, a woman approached me and asked if I was looking for directions. She approached me and offered her kindness just because she wanted to help. And she did, I found where I needed to go with her directions. …

Had a guy pull the "sex is very important to a healthy partnership" and "it can make or break a relationship". Cue the eyerolling when he confessed he couldn't even get the condom on with his ex. That's a "you" problem, sir. Don't bring compatibility into your own shortcomings. 😪

The main theory behind these timelines is know what you want and what you feel comfortable with because it is all too easy to be coerced, gaslighted, and otherwise manipulated while dating. If you don't set strong boundaries and convictions beforehand, you will get caught up in their rhythm. Personally, I wouldn't kiss on the first couple dates. Exceptions might be if you have known them in non-romantic capacity for some time and already feel comfortable with them. I make it very clear to them t…

I do subscribe to the theory that wealthier, higher status men will act less LV in public. That really has less to do with their moral character and respectfulness of women, and more to do with the fact that they have to maintain a reputation/persona. So they could very well be LV behind closed doors but are less likely to act upon those base instincts in public, hence less catcalling and harassment.

It is very unfortunate, my heart goes out to your mother. We can only hope to learn from these kinds of situations and avoid repeating history. Omg, how a man keeps his soap is so important. Story time: One guy I was dating didn't have any liquid hand soap in the house. He kept one bar of soap near the bathtub and that was it. It was my first (and last) time visiting so I asked him where he kept the hand soap. He laughed apologetically saying he used that one bar of soap for both hand and body since he didn't have guests over often, then gave me hand sanitizer instead. In reality, he probably never even used soap when washing his hands.…

Yeah there's nothing wrong with the shortened version as a standalone! Years back, it had really blown up in Chinese mainstream media and people weaponize it to criticize women for being "gold diggers" or a "materialistic generation". When the framing of such a choice was simply absurd.

The quote comes from a scarcity mindset and has been heavily criticized. The entire quote is "I would rather cry in a bmw than laugh on a bicycle" in response to an unemployed man asking a woman out on bike date. Why would I be crying in the first place? This quote perpetuates the myth that women can only choose one or the other: being treated well financially, or being treated well emotionally. And of course we are shunned for choosing the former, when in fact it is not a decision at all. If a …

I told him a firm no, that isn't appropriate for a first date. I expected him to backpedal but the scrote actually tried to convince me. The audacity. Blocked him in the middle of his sales pitch.

Men always try to inflate their worth. I am a designated CPA and have never listed it on my dating profile, and although I do consider it to be an accomplishment, I feel there are more important/interesting things about me. So unless it comes up in conversation I don't mention it. Yet I've seen so many men that are in the finance/accounting field who list CPA in their profile like some kind of gold standard... First off, I'm so happy for you! Love seeing other women invest in themselves. On to the meat of the subject. Most (low value) men do not seem to celebrate their partner's success the same way a woman does. Most will see your career as competition or something to be one-upped. The smoother of them will frame it as "motivation" to do better themselves, which could be fine if done in a healthy, non-competitive way. The worst of them will outright resent you for doing as well or better than they ar…

Wow, I just love how they blew your profile out of proportion. Oh to have such a fragile ego. Spot on, even if they earn more than us it is likely that we have still worked harder to get here. I've had a date comment "It must be hard finding someone who is doing better." Not hard at all, they just have to put in the same effort as I do and our patriarchal society will reward them disproportionately.

My thought is this: Would you bring a coupon when you invite an important business partner, assuming out of pocket, to dinner? No, of course not. It's not about saving money but respect and the intention to impress someone. If they bring out the coupons, they care more about saving an extra 10 bucks than making a good impression on you. Gotta move on.

I never wanted to sleep with more than one guy in my life and obviously everyone wants their first time to be a good memory to look back on I feel the same way and in my experience "communicating" this to a prospective partner makes them intimidated about it. Taking this kind of reaction as weeding themselves out. Thank you for sharing your perspective here, it's at least a relief knowing my situation isn't as isolated as I thought!

Not surprised that men still hold this belief 😞 It's definitely not something I go around telling every guy I date but I feel like their reaction reveals a lot about them. Seen it way too many times, you're not alone. COVID has my city in full lockdown mode (no dine-in, no indoor activities, and outdoor activities are closed for winter...) and the LVMs here are secretly laughing to themselves on how easy it is to use the pandemic as an excuse for no value dates.
