Actually, agree on the well-dressed men part. But there are a lot of average built guys in NYC pulling high wuality women who are drawn to their intellect and sensitivity. In Miami, women prefer a guy who looks like he can jump into the Octagon, has lots of money, and dresses well & with flash. New York is more refined.

Actually you probably didn't hurt your cause too much. The first line was kinda funny, but you might have left her wanting to get to know you better. Rather than being all over her from the start, unwrapping things a little more slowly can work to your advantage. But use this as a lesson and the next time you meet up with her, if the conversation flows say something simple like: "Hey, wanna get lunch sometime?" If yes then work it from there, if no, then move on.

Not gonna lie. Planning a casual date a month out is not the best optics. Stay in her mix, send her links to songs that you like or something interesting. Stay away from politics that's toxic waste right now even if your views line up. Ask her how her day/week went. Ask her what she likes to do, what's her favorite book or movie. Show ambition about your career and show interest in hers. Chances are she'll like to answer questions about herself to a point...this can be overdone. Keep her interes…

It's an annoying thing. She could get back to you with "Sorry for the late response, been super busy - would love to see you" and everything's all good. She could be trying to say no but doesn't want to hurt your feelings (personally would rather have someone be direct with me). You could reach out one last time - "let me know if you're still game" - kind of keeping it light. Or you could just move on. Not really an easy fix, and if she is 420 she may be a little "in the here and now" aka flakey…
