Personally, I know if I’m physically attracted to someone within seconds after seeing them. Now, that attraction can increase or decrease based on their personality, but for me that initial physical attraction has to be there. I have to be able to picture myself kissing them, having sex with them, etc, otherwise the very idea of them touching me causes me to clam up like a shell. I will never feel bad for my standards because you know what the opposite of being picky is? Settling. A friend invit…

I was raised by narcissist parents so I learned to be very careful and suspicious of people’s motives, especially men. I prided myself on it and never really dated because of it too. But when I finally met a guy who I thought was kind and decent, I fell into the same mind traps just like everyone else. I’m not even mad at him anymore. I’m mad at myself. I’ve been so careful my whole life and did everything to protect myself and I still fell for the same crap I thought I was too smart for. The se…

I stayed friends with someone I briefly dated because hey, why not, it was an amicable break up and I still thought of him as a nice person. Big mistake. As I got to know him better as a friend, I started realizing he had covert narcissistic tendencies...it got to the point where every time I saw him I’d feel anxious or inexplicably annoyed but I thought it was my problem, like PMS or me being overly sensitive. He didn’t do anything to intentionally hurt me, but that off putting feeling never we…

My ex was very confusing in that he called out LV behaviour in others and seemed HV himself (for example he makes an effort not to overly compliment women on their looks because he knows it can come off creepy). But at the same time, he hardly has any close male friends. All his close friends were women, including ones that he had some history with (i.e. ex gf, girl he kissed once, girl he hooked up with once, etc). At first I didn’t think much about it, but it became a red flag later on. Just a…

I am said single person. I’ve always been that perpetually single friend that all my girlfriends tend to confide to because I don’t have any relationship drama, past or present, to project onto them. I’d like to think my advice is actually logical and unbiased.

Same with “I’m sorry, that wasn’t my intention.” Intentions mean nothing when the fact of the matter is your actions have caused hurt feelings. It’s like saying “hey I’m sorry I hit you with my car, that wasn’t my intention” and expecting to get away with it without any accountability.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
