Feminists unhappy with science. Create "Feminist Biology" to combat gender bias. No I'm not joking.I noticed the stipulation for those enrolling in the program was that they were to teach a course in feminism in addition to their biology studies. I hadn't thought about the implications of this -- I agree, but then again I have a similar bias that more science everywhere is a good thing. | /r/TheRedPill | 25/04/14 02:09 AM
Feminists unhappy with science. Create "Feminist Biology" to combat gender bias. No I'm not joking. The kind of gender bias you are referring to is not the same kind of gender bias that feminist biology seeks to address. I suppose this gets to whether we believe her stated intentions (as reported in the first question of the PopSci article). Dr. Hyde's CV includes several publications in psych journals that have a good track record for producing good science (e.g. Psych Bulletin, Developmental Psych). Thus I assume she actually does seek to address gender bias via proper research. example sper… | /r/TheRedPill | 24/04/14 11:27 PM
Feminism at a fundamental level"Who caused the rift between genders" is an interesting question, I bet you'd get some attitude-revealing answers to it at social events. I'm not sure what the average feminist would say, if such a thing exists. In my little corner of life, there isn't much of one. Lots of guys and gals getting along, experiencing few problems that are inherently gender-based. Do you not agree that while being male is brilliant it comes with its many drawbacks as well. I think the cultural benefits of being male… | /r/TheRedPill | 24/04/14 07:24 PM

Feminism at a fundamental levelInstead Feminism has drawn up their battle plans AGAINST half of the population of the world, and declared a full scale war. You would have a more successful time understanding feminism without the straw man (woman?). While I'm sure there are extremist feminists who consider men the enemy, it's the vast minority. Every ideology has their crazy fringe. In my opinion this is just a classic case of the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. If feminism was to reach that dizzying height, t… | /r/TheRedPill | 24/04/14 06:29 PM
My female "friend" asks for a favour, goes ballistic after I ditch herjust because, from time to time, I also need to dump my torrents of anger on someone. Sounds like a quality friendship on both ends. | /r/TheRedPill | 24/04/14 06:10 PM
| -5 | Feminists unhappy with science. Create "Feminist Biology" to combat gender bias. No I'm not joking.I see a lot of good work in these comments reinforcing this community's terrible reputation. Gender bias in the sciences has a long impressive history. If programs like this help eliminate that -- good. If the programs only effect is to increase the number of women in the hard sciences, it will have value. The fact that you all assume the program won't generate good science says a lot more about you than it does "feminist biology". Also, how about a real link asking some interesting questions ab… | /r/TheRedPill | 24/04/14 06:04 PM |
