Being nominated for the Supreme Court of the United States, and having your nomination scuttled over unsubstantiated, politically-motivated allegations is a huge slap in the face. Would you feel sorry for a promising football player who lost his shot at the NFL because of some false allegations? The Supreme Court is the NFL of the legal system.

Minimum wages just lead to unemployment. The laws of economics are universal. Supply and demand apply to every society and culture. Legislation is temporary and malleable.

TIL the laws of economics don't apply to the UK.

There's no definition of "underpaid." Employers offer you a job at a particular wage. If you don't like it, don't work there or quit. If you choose to do so, you're not being under or overpaid, that's just your market wage.

There's no such thing as underpaid if you're free to quit and find another job.

Like most male celebrities, he probably knew a good chunk of it is bs, but was afraid to speak out. That is, until his name and reputation were targeted.

That's entirely possible. She pretty consistently hates me.

Absolutely. I have to deal with this secretary at work who manages various things around the office, including approving leave. She splits like crazy. Always, always rejects my applications for switching shifts (even when I've found someone willing to cover), but will simultaneously bend over backwards for the women that come to her for help. She's even hauling me into a meeting with our boss next week because I had to take a few days off, and went behind her back to switch those shifts after sh…

There's only one solution for this, you know: we must systematically accuse everyone of pedophilia.

Basically, government is a corrupt enterprise from top to bottom. A way for the lazy and indolent (both poor and wealthy) to feed off the productive.

Then a minimum of 10 years served. Nobody would be crazy enough to do that much time. Plus prison sentences for all prosecutors and lying witnesses involved.
/r/MensRights05/01/17 07:01 AM

Fuck a million dollars. Nothing can make up for 21 undeserved years behind bars, labeled as a pedophile rapist. That man deserves a $50 million. There should be a statue the size of the Washington Monument built in his favor. He should get front row tickets to any concert and sporting even he'd like. He should be given all the hookers and cocaine he wants for the rest of his life.

The goal should be to get as much money as you can, enough to theoretically retire, and then sock it away where it can't be touched. Offshore, maybe. I think Bitcoin is the best option because no one on earth can seize it unless they have your private keys.

Honestly, the ideal job is a software engineer who works from home and doesn't have to interact in person with anyone.

Isn't this an example of why you shouldn't own your own business? If you were an employee, you could've quit or been fired. Whatever. Brush it off and find a new job. The fact that you had a business made it, and by extension you, a huge target.

Can we also get a Kickstarter going to fire that cop?
/r/MensRights16/09/16 04:13 PM

Yeah, but back then, as a woman, you had no control over your life. Career opportunities were limited, and if your husband was a wife-beating drunk asshole, there was no recourse. It probably bore greater resemblance to the status of women in Saudi Arabia than to American women today.

I saw him live a couple years back, his set was fantastic. Doug had this great bit about how everything we think we know about the world is probably wrong, just as people a thousand years ago were wrong about nearly everything they thought to be true. Sadly, I haven't seen any of those jokes makes their way into a special yet.

He's my favorite standup comedian. Go watch No Refunds (available on Youtube). Magnificent set.

Which requires counterparty risk, is not fully anonymous, and still the feds can apply pressure to them to get to it.

I presume you're talking about the Bitcoins seized from Silk Road. DPR stored those on his laptop, which the government seized and promptly decrypted. Which is a pretty bad way of going about securing them. Other ways of securing your Bitcoins including using a paper wallet (print out private key), brain wallet (memorize it), or a small Trezor/Ledger hardwallet, etc. But as long as the government doesn't have your private key, there's absolutely nothing they can do or anyone they can go to in or…
