1	Women taking husband's name upon marriage? Opinions My wife didn't take my name, and it was my suggestion that she not do it. First off, there's nothing wrong with her name and it has served her well over the years and second, she has professional licenses in about 15 states that charge anywhere from $30-$300 to make changes to. He was required by state law to try to talk me out of it as I had never had kids. 3	Went to a wedding, nice couple, late 20s. The Reverend was a women who used the ceremony to 'roast' the man. The bride was 'rescuing him', would 'make him a man', 'fix his life'.
