why did you exclude women with big tits and gorgeous looks? Because those are more generic qualities not unique to that individual's name or fame.

I mean, I kinda agree. It's just a sad indicator of our social values that this is primarily seen as "men should work less so that women can make more money" rather then "women should work more so that fathers can finally spend more time with their children."

The author's comments aside, I still don't think it's too far-fetched to attribute a lot of the behavioral differences between men and women to social construct, especially the ones listed in this article. Everyone experiences negative emotions and stress. Everyone has times when they think life is about more than their daily grind and would like to take a break from their careers to "find themselves". But men are the ones who are usually taught to "suck it up" and bury emotions and not express …

Employers to men: here are the only two outfits you are allowed to wear to work. Employers to women: here are the only two outfits you are not allowed to wear to work. "Ohmygod, did you just try to tell women what they can't wear??? Sexist!!!"

My wife has a handful of pricier favorite dresses that she wears often. She likes how cute they make her feel, I like how cute she looks in them, she gets regular compliments on them from her friends, has never been confronted or shamed for wearing something she's already worn before.....but then again, she's not a moron, so I guess that biases her against conventional attitudes towards fashion like this post.

Why throw in "random facts" about race or age? Why focus on numbers or rates at all? It's all just a bunch of random facts, amiright?

I'd say it's perfectly relevant for a list of suicide statistics to list the most common suicide method, one which alone accounts for half of all suicides, regardless of what that method was. If it was hanging, would you have made this same comment complaining "preventing access to rope won't stop anything"? Let's just let facts stand on their own, please.

....intervention from the government/courts.....THEY ARE STILL CHILDREN. Damn, what a conundrum. If only there was some sort of court system designed to handle such cases in which the perpetrator is a minor....someone should really invent that, amiright?

No, I and everyone else has acknowledged that there are no recorded incidents of someone admittedly doing that. That has nothing to do with any of the points any of us have made. That doesn't do anything to make the original statement of clearly if they killed themselves it means they were really raped any more valid. That's the point, and none of your hair-splitting or backpedaling changed any of that. EDIT: And jeez, now that I look at them, even your links really have nothing to do with the o…

No, it has not been. Your argument has been that it's somehow flawed or illogical to suggest that it's simply a possibility for a false accuser to kill theirself from shame or guilt or whatever, as opposed to suicide being inextricably linked to being an innocent victim, because there is not solid proof of a false accuser having done that before. Then trying to claim you're having an issue with "both sides" when it is unfathomably clear that's not at all where you stand. And ignoring, as others …

Wow, really....? After all this time of bashing "speculation" and claiming to not be choosing sides....just "sticking to the facts".....really?
/r/MensRights20/03/17 04:38 AM
1

You were very much only challenging one. Baselessly. Since, again, it was not at all the "speculation" you're trying to make it seem like it was. Someone said "X is possible", it was replied to with "Not true, Y is also possible", and you replied with "WHERE IS YOUR PROOF THAT Y EVER HAPPENED???" And what you're doing now is called backpedaling. Unsuccessfully.
/r/MensRights20/03/17 04:26 AM
1

Sure. And you conveniently only felt the need to debate one side of the argument......furthermore, debating it as if it was an actual assertion (which it wasn't) requiring "proof" when that wasn't at all the context it was mentioned in. If someone says "Only X is possible", rebutting them with "No, Y is also possible" is not a speculative point and is a perfectly factual and reasonable reply.
/r/MensRights20/03/17 03:31 AM
2

I and the guy you originally replied to would both pretty much agree with that statement. The only reason any "speculation" is occurring at all is because of the comment which tried to assert that suicide absolutely must be paired with being a persecuted innocent victim. Then others simply pointed out that, no there are other possible explanations....which you then demanded "proof" of. Did you even bother reading the dialogue you jumped into?
/r/MensRights20/03/17 01:20 AM
2

The alternative explanation of why she killed herself. The whole point of the above dialogue.
/r/MensRights19/03/17 11:46 PM
2

And that's the only evidence you have that this is a thing that happens. It's the "only evidence" of the alternative possibility too.
/r/MensRights19/03/17 11:42 PM

Because as we all know, the decision to kill oneself is always made rationally.

No, no. Don't you see? Those women were the real victims because the men should've known better. The men had the sole responsibility to be reserved and strong-willed to protect the women from their own lack of reservation and will-power. Because reasons.

Anyone who doesn't believe a 13 year old girl could be sexually coercive to a 16 year old boy is living with their head in the sand and/or had zero exposure to the opposite sex until they reached their 20's.

Going back to the good ol' days, when you could lock up a racial minority based on nothing but a white woman saying he touched her wrong. It's so terribly ironic how many people are calling this regression "progress". Next, feminists will convince us to start hanging them from trees again too.
/r/MensRights27/07/16 04:42 PM

And that is why identity politics are so toxic. Labeling yourself as egalitarian does not implicitly prevent you from agreeing with a feminist's viewpoints on any actual social issue whatsoever. Likewise, choosing to label yourself a feminist would not guarantee you would see eye-to-eye with another self-proclaimed feminist on any particular issue. Feminists disagree with each other on plenty of shit all the time. Giving themselves such titles essentially has no significance other than giving th…

This article almost gave me an aneurysm, but thankfully the comments were packed full of sanity this time and helped me make a quick recovery. Seriously, how the hell did it get this stupid? I used to associate as a bleeding-heart liberal, but it appears I have been moved to the moderate section based on what the left is doing these days. I mean, it's one thing for an individual to be so delusional to write something like this in the first place, but to also get published??? How does that happen…

Ironically, the whole point at the original "jab" at Madonna wasn't even really an insult.....comparing her to that GoT character was essentially just calling her uncommonly hot/sexy for her age. Oh no, the shame!

Mothers in prison are five times more likely than fathers in prison to have to put their children in foster care. Probably because men are more likely to lose custody even in cases when the mother is unfit and unstable and likely to eventually find herself fin prison.

The guy who bought the kiddie porn would get in more trouble than the incestuous baby-raper who produced the kiddie porn. Sure. That makes sense.

I remember having my hair long as a teen and putting it into dreads at the insistence of my black friends. Do it man, dooooo it, it'll look so cool....AWESOME HE DID IT! Whooo, lookin' good! Can only imagine the confusion it would've caused my young self if I then came across someone like this who proceeded to yell at me and push me around for "appropriating black culture". Seriously, what the hell is happening? It's like the liberals all saw how the conservatives were tearing each other apart w…

And there's no reason "taking responsibility" for a pregnancy must mean being a parent. It simply means deciding whether or not to proceed with the pregnancy. Additionally (the point of this comic) it could include deciding who will be legally responsible for raising and supporting the child.
/r/MensRights18/03/16 08:31 PM

And fucking without a condom means you accept the risk of simply getting pregnant and then having to decide how to proceed from there. Whether to keep the child, whether it will be raised by both parents together, both separately, or only one parent, etc.... It's not inherently "volunteering for parenthood". Dying in a brutal accident is a risk associated with driving, but that doesn't mean I'm "volunteering to be slaughtered" every time I get behind the wheel.

Uncertainty allows mothers to select for their children the father who would be best for them. Maybe do the selecting before getting pregnant....? Crazy idea, right?

Without any more info, I have no problem giving these guys the benefit of doubt. As a grad student in my late 20's, every time I go on campus I'm astounded by how young the freshman look. These kids are supposedly 18 and I seriously can't see much difference between them and my 12-14 year old cousins. Makes me feel old as hell.

I remember seeing a similar study (referenced towards the bottom of this article) that showed men produced more sperm when watching gang-bang pornography with multiple men, versus watching multiple women or 1-on-1.

My first instinct is to think it'd be a matter of certainty that you're caring and raising for your offspring, and not someone else's. It's only very recently in human history that we have the ability to scientifically verify paternity. Women don't really need to wonder if a child is hers. Such uncertainty only exists for males.

when they show you proof I've seen a lot of pretty sophisticated "proof" from creationists which supposedly debunks evolution, or from health nuts stirring up GMO hysteria. In the internet age, pretty much anyone who wants to believe in anything has access to volumes of "proof" reinforcing their beliefs. Tone and attitude have a big impact on how seriously people will be willing to take your "proof", and pretty much anyone who cares about circumcision enough to speak out against it does so with …

Oh I don't deny that you and many other women get those kinds of comments, but I meant more in a way that was systematically oppressive like the linked article made it sound. The author of the article referenced it in such a way that made it seem like the expectation to have kids was disproportionately damaging to women's careers, or so overbearing that it impeded on their personal decision to have one. I've seen so many workplaces who view people who need to take family time as "not being team …

Well yeah, I agree with you there. But that's sadly how a lot of American workplaces still are. I've been lucky enough to have only had one bad work experience with such companies, but pretty much all of my friends and family have work environments that expect you to have no family life. People with kids who need to go to the doctor or actually use all their accrued leave for the year are not "team players". I'm doing the stay at home dad thing for now, and pretty much everyone has regarded me a…

I hear about this "unspoken judgement" passed on women who don't have children a lot.....who exactly is passing this judgment that's holding the women down? My parents started bugging me about settling down and giving them grandkids the second I graduated high school....my old college roommate is the only bachelor left from our old group and the poor boy's family and half his church won't stop bugging him about how much longer he's gonna wait to start a family. On the flipside, I've met quite a …
