I’ve met some of my best friends in social media, but we go out of our ways to meet in person if someone is traveling, or for a girls’ weekend or whatever. I got my job 2 weeks ago based on a woman I met in a Facebook group, and now we’re close friends who get together outside work. I got a book agent through an editor I met on Twitter who gave me her book proposal, even though we’ve never met IRL. It’s like anything else: you can make it suck and be unhealthy, or you can use social media to bui…

This person can’t locate a friend to get out of their parents’ house. I don’t think whiskey and mingling are even possible.

Leave the house. Find a Meetup group for something you enjoy and show up for it. Ask a classmate/coworker/neighbor to grab dinner/coffee/drinks/movie/museum./walk around Japantown. You live in San Francisco, and everything is there. Or go on Tinder and find someone who’ll want to pop your cherry. I don’t recommend that since you seem very socially inept (observation, no judgement) so that would probably end in disaster. Also, talk to a psychiatrist about what seems like crippling social anxiety.…

I should also state the obvious: shower, wear deodorant and clean clothes, brush your teeth, wash and comb your hair, don’t pick your nose or your ass or your balls in front of the object of your affection, don’t cough, sneeze, burp or fart without covering your mouth or saying excuse me. Try not to fart. Also, talk about things she likes, not just about you and your stuff.

You can ask someone out or express interest without chasing, per se The way to approach a woman: - be polite - be straightforward - talk to her like a human and listen when she talks - be considerate Women think of “chasing” as the stuff below: - continuing to ask out a woman after she’s told you no already - following a woman in any way after she says she’s not interested. Don’t like her social media posts. Don’t turn up where you know she’ll be. And don’t think you can change her mind. - makin…

Question: why would you set a time for a date that you’re not sure you can make on time? Not only are you making yourself nervous for no reason, you’re increasing the likelihood that you’ll have to reschedule and look like a flake. If you don’t think you’ll get out of work on time, call her now and reschedule, telling her the truth about why you’re doing it. It’s more considerate, and more mature.

Women usually whip out a breast when we’re interested. Sometimes we lift our legs and pee on you as a display of attraction. I guess none of us have been interested in you yet.

“Using” someone to your advantage doesn’t sound like friendship, or a way to start any healthy interaction. Just saying.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
