I appreciate your post and the energy you put into it and it would be a much more convincing post if you cited the research. You can cite easily using the author names, title and the conference or journal it was published in. No links necessary. At the risk of seeming ungrateful, I don't want TRP to fall into the same "studies show" trap that many of our opponents fall into. We can be better than that and we should.

Can you please reference the studies you mentioned in your post?

Reducing contact? How can you have any contact with your sister after this? Your mother, I don't fully understand her reaction, but your sister... You don't need evil (or just plain stupid?) people like that in your life.

You probably don't have the right motivation? I'm sticking to it because I'm shit tired of doing the same thing (i.e., fapping) and getting the same results (e.g., no energy to pick up women nor to take care of myself). I get hard just thinking about stuff, but I simply ignore it. I won't allow a stupid physical response to sidetrack me off my goals.

Quitting porn and fapping should be a no-brainer. Why would you reward yourself for zero effort? You're training yourself (neurochemically) to be lazy and complacent. I've been off of porn for almost 8 months now and off of fapping for almost 5 months. I had to start NoFap after I realized fapping to hot Facebook bitches was just slowly returning me to porn. The benefits for me were very noticeable: I had more energy to put into work. I stopped other bad habits, like coffee, (diet) soda and over…

I get their numbers but since I don't even use WhatsApp it's not useful at all. I can't believe what I'm reading.

But... subjectively it sucks? Or what's the problem?

Really though? Not sure I'd care.

I tried meditation. I read self-help books as much as I could. I watched/listened to lots of motivational videos on repeat. I spoke to friends and family about my anxiety/depression. In general, I was acutely aware that unless I do something different, I won't be different. Put differently, unless I took in different input (e.g., books, people, conversations), I won't produce different output (e.g., behaviors, feelings). I was influenced by the idea that our brains could just be "dumb" algorithm…

Self control. Self mastery. Part of the reason I felt anxious was because I felt my life was out of my hands. I couldn't get myself to do the things that I knew were good for me. And that triggered anxiety about how I will end up if I keep doing the bad things.

I had struggled with it for 3 years. I've done some psychotherapy too, which helped, but didn't solve it. What solved it was: No porn, no fap, no coffee, no alcohol, fasting, sleeping better, and exercising.

For my own life, I agree. For others, it's up to them. Do it like a controlled study basically. Try with and without. I'm convinced for life after "without."

Stop fapping and stop looking at hot women online. Give it 90 days.

I would argue being "red pilled" has nothing to do with opening up to your therapist about these insecurities. Also, I'm not convinced that the conversation would go to "love" or "the right person". Maybe it would go to feelings of unworthiness or fear of rejection. Maybe it'll go to parental love. But you'll never know unless you open up.

But in my head it's been to a lack of success with women. Im not going to tell the doctors that. If you're seeing a therapist but you're withholding this kind of information from them, you need to find yourself a therapist you trust. Otherwise, you're wasting your time (and mental health) there. I suspect that if you started to openly talk about this to your therapist, you might find yourself making some progress. From the way you wrote this post, not getting with women really seems to drag you …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
